I actually own this game and this is the third time I have played this game, and still enjoy the plot, puzzles and hidden object games. The story begins with dramatic music, you wake up shackled in an abandoned building with no idea what's happening to you. As panic sets in you hear a cell phone ring and this stranger tells you to escape by any means possible and meet her in the cabin in the woods (yeah right) She also warns that a maniacal cop, Diane Matthews, responsible for the deaths of five people, is after you! Who can you trust if not the officer? See I told you it's a great plot.
The graphics aren't the best out there, but they are really good and really creepy, keep in mind this is an older game. There are a bunch of puzzles such as spot the difference as well as more complex games requiring you to mix paints to achieve the correct colors as indicated, but you must fill 2 cans at a time side by side so choose the two cans wisely. The Hidden Object Scenes are interactive list finds with a whole lot of graves, skulls and abnormal creepy items.
Either edition of this game is great but the Collectors Edition does have a built in Strategy Guide and collectible money bags, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

The Shrine of Compassion has been corrupted, instead of spreading health and well being, the Shrine is now spreading death and the Trolls must find the other Shrines and take a sample of each one to rejuvenate the Shrine of Death. You can choose a Relaxed setting if so desired, and you can speed up the game or slow it down to customize the game. There are several resources to collect such as wood or food and you must send the Troll Shaman to chase away the Mummies, Pumpkin Heads, and Skeletons which will steal your resources. If you build houses, you get more Gremlins which are the one's who do the legwork here, and if you build taverns, they will produce food over time. You are tasked with collecting manna, gold and chopping down trees for wood, and you must fix bridges and corrupt gardens which will produce food as well. There are several alters which when activated will regrow trees and pumpkins and even make the gremlins faster for a burst of time. One of the features I like on this game is that whenever you press the spacebar, you can see what tasks are available in green circles around the items and if the item is red that task is not yet available. When you complete the level in the allotted time, you receive flowers that can be used to upgrade the gremlins and Troll in a 3D virtual room, enjoy!

I love the beautiful Caribbean pictures available from sea turtles to beaches. The only drawback I have is that there are only 18 puzzles in each box with 4 boxes total. You can choose Easy or Casual settings and there are 7 trophies to earn. You can modify any of the puzzles offered and choose from 10-300 pieces as well as the shape of the puzzle and if you want the pieces to rotate. You can choose from 4 different background colors and the resolution setting. There are options to display the image up to 3 times the size or ghost the image on the background. There are also options to show only the border pieces and you can use the box to store extra pieces to make more room. There are available hints and a magnifying glass too, enjoy!

I've never seen a Mahjong game quite like this one, fast paced, exciting, frustrating and entertaining! The goal of this game is to match books (A.K.A Mahjong tiles) for each of the library clients. A tiny little Elf enters the library and requests a book as shown next to him and you must find a matching pair of tiles, hopefully before his patience runs out and he leaves. There is a Freeplay mode to choose as well which doesn't require you to serve any clients. There are 6 different trophies to earn and 8 different Elixer's to earn which can be used to find a random set of tiles, give you an undo or even unlock a tile. This game can be difficult, I found myself having to repeat some of the levels a couple of times because there were very few matching tiles, none of which were books I needed and you had to make all available matches before the board would shuffle. If there was an available shuffle button without having to earn or buy an elixir, that would have been a better option. I love it when the developers "think outside of the box" and this game is a perfect example of how creative a game can be when they make the slightest changes. This game could really qualify for a Time Management game as well, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Sasha's parents were struck by lightning and perished when she was 5 years old. The lightning bolt unearthed a Golden Homunculus that Sasha kept by her side for years, but for some strange reason, the Homunculus has been activated and is guiding Sasha to dangerous locations. Sasha's mission brings her to a restricted area full of toxic Cyan Plasma, and she briefly meets up with Daniel from the last Phenomenon game (still searching for his parents) She will embark on a long and treacherous journey to find the missing research team, their only hope of neutralizing the alien plasma before it's too late.
This game has wonderful graphics and plenty of active areas in each scene, but, very few Hidden Object scenes or mini games. There are so many gadgets to repair and items to uncover that they won't really be missed. My favorite feature with this series is the unique HOS. You search for all of the listed items, some slight interactions required such as finding parts to scissors, when you are down to the final item you need to click on the spinning vortex to travel to that same location but in a different time. There you will have another complete list of items to find and once complete, the vortex will return you to the first location where the last item you were searching for has appeared! The mini games were far and few between but they were entertaining such as a 10 step process on a stone statue, you have to read one step at a time and manipulate buttons, switches and dials to accomplish what the directions are telling you.
The Collectors Edition has 35 hidden plasma flasks to find, but to be quite honest, I would probably choose the Standard Edition over the Collector's Edition. The flasks aren't enough of a wow factor for me and the game is easy enough to figure out without a Strategy Guide, in my opinion, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Princess Sophia, a human born without magic, awoke from a 100 year slumber in the Dreamless Castle. Princess Sophia and her parents were cursed by the evil Dreadmyer, a curse of eternal restless slumber! She learns that her people are no longer, so she travels to Moonfell Woods to find mankind, and meets a witch who tells her that only the Goblin King knows their whereabouts. In the Goblin Kingdom she learns that her people are in the Skyward Castle, even though she finds her people in the Castle, there is still no sign of her parents. In Sunhook Spire, now Queen Sophia, she escapes mercenaries and begins searching for the Enchantress who can break the spell besieged upon her parents, and here we are in The Redleaf Forest searching for the Centaur who can forge the sword that can stop the evil Dreadmyer. Now that's a story and a half, and I'm definitely not ready for this series to end!
This Collectors Edition has the usual extra's such as wallpapers, concept art, strategy guide and bonus game, it also has a bonus game of germinating flowers for your garden. There are plenty of achievements to earn and 15 hidden lilies to collect. Mira the wise ole owl is back and ready to assist with hints (seems the voice for the owl has changed again) and of course we have that fire breathing, mossflower eating pocket dragon along for the journey as well.
The Awakening series is best known for the numerous mini games from simple to complex, but don't worry there are plenty of Hidden Object scenes as well. The HOS are a mixture of interactive list finds where you have to interact with items such as untying knots in a rope, and progressive silhouettes where you have to find the item that matches the silhouette and then use that item within the scene in order to progress to the next item find. There are mini games within the HOS such as finding 4 weapons and putting them in the correct sequence which will give you the color code to open up the chest! Some of the mini games include fixing the clockwork dragon and swapping tiles and pulling levers logically. None of the mini games are difficult, they are usually short puzzles and most are enjoyable.
Obviously I'm an Awakening geek, but please believe me when I say that this is one of the best Fairy Tale themed games out there! It won't be a necessity to have played the other games in the series but the continuing saga is fantastic. #1 is Dreamless Castle #2 is Moonfell Woods #3 is The Goblin Kingdom #4 is The Skyward Castle #5 is Sunhook Spire this game is the 6th in the series. You may also want to check out the F2P Awakening game as well, enjoy!

Selena used her magic to see the future and learned that her daughter, Princess would die at birth. Her only hope was to make a deal with the King of Elves, Rizallion, in order to find the Tree of Wishes. This deal bears a heavy price, one Selena may not be able to repay, witch's blood! This is an excellent sequel to The Lord of Statues, a quest to reunite Princess with her mother and save her before Rizallion uses her blood to nourish the Tree of Life.
I really enjoyed playing both versions of this game, but I'm a huge fan of morphing objects and favor the Collectors Edition because of the 18 morphing tiny dragons and 22 trading cards to collect. The CE also has achievements to earn and a built in Strategy Guide, but this game is fairly easy to figure out, especially if you use the jump map to figure out where active areas are located. You will be joined by the city's keeper, a creepy skull with a wandering eyeball, that serves as a hint icon. This game does require a lot of back and forth traveling to collect multiple items such as lost souls and will-o'-the-wisps, but you can use the map to quickly reach those destinations if desired. This game also has 4 modes of difficulty from casual to detective mode with no hints, skips or sparkles and the cursor doesn't even change over active areas! Princess hands over her magic book that she used in the first Royal Detective game which will be used to bring any finished statue to life. (yep, even Angel!)
The Hidden Object Scenes are interactive list finds and they are actually done very well with items appropriate to the games genre. I will admit that I wish there had been more mini games available, and that they were a bit more challenging. The story is usually told a little at a time with each mini game such as painting pictures with a color key for reference. My favorite game was an interactive diorama of sorts where you have to lead the hero through a series of obstacles and figure out how to acquire different objects to progress such as taking grain from the windmill and delivering the grain to the beerhouse to receive a beer to bribe the lighthouse guard.
This is the third time I have played this game and I still enjoy it immensely, the quality and detail of the game makes this possible. If you are a fan of morphs, or want all the bells and whistles, then choose the CE, either way I think you'll love this game too, enjoy!

This is a really entertaining game, BUT, Haunted Hotel: Eclipse was much more sinister. Abraham Shadowy, a mechanical engineer has renovated an old house into a theatrical Haunted House full of mechanical parlor tricks. When guests begin to disappear you and your partner James are called in to investigate this strange case, but so far the only thing paranormal is the owners odd behavior.
This is a well produced game with good cinematics and because the game is based upon mechanics, there are lot's of mechanical gadgets to repair and tinker with in every scene. In my opinion, this is a very easy game, everything is logical including the mini games. There are 12 Egyptian canopic jars to collect, which will also give you a brief bio about the person whose ashes they contain as well as the usual achievements to earn. There are plus indicators on some items requiring you to fix that item before it will be available such as an Amulet of Light and a mechanical scarab which will assist you in your investigation.
The Hidden Object Scenes are well done, interactive list finds and there seems to be a decent amount of them. The mini games are very easy in my opinion, but they do seem to become more complex as you progress. They range anywhere from matching alike lock pics, memorizing a sequence of colored marbles and replicating them after the lid is closed, adjusting mirrors until a beam of light travels from one end to the other, and one of my favorites was swapping top and bottom colored gems so that those two colors would mix to make the colored gem in the middle.
This game is fun, somewhat relaxing due to it's simplicity, but at least in the demo, not scary in the least bit. Every scene has several areas of interest and lot's of gadgets to fix with an abundance of doable puzzles and mini games. If you don't compare this game to it's predecessor, if you judge this game solely on it's own merits then you've got yourself a great game, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Curse of the Pharaoh games are some of the most entertaining hidden object-spot the difference games out there. Each scene has 3 coins to collect which can be used to purchase helpful items such as a double cursor, hammer, mirror, flashlight, oxygen tank and even an extra hint. Wipi will pop out occasionally and if you catch him he will give you an extra hint as well. Each scene has an item to collect that will be used to repair an item in the scene and you collect pieces of a mask as well as various puzzle pieces. Another fantastic Curse of the Pharaoh game with more hidden object scenes than it's predecessor. This game still has "spot the difference" puzzles, plenty to keep those spotters happy, but this game is more of a HOS. Each scene has 3 pharaoh coins to collect which can be used in the store to purchase bonus items such as a double cursor, an extra hint, a big flashlight, a mirror, a hammer and an oxygen mask. Wipi still pops up periodically on the side of the scene and if you "catch" him he gives you an extra hint. You will also need to collect puzzle pieces and find missing items as well as putting those pieces back into the scene where they belong. Some of the hidden object scenes are repeated in the same location. At the end of level, you will use the collected puzzle pieces to complete a mini game such as a puzzle that requires you to swap pieces to complete a picture. This is a must play game for Egyptian theme loving gamers, enjoy!
