Who's your Daddy? Gabriel is all grown up now, and what a handsome young man he's turned out to be. Even though his mother died of a rare infliction during childbirth, Gabriel hasn't suffered nearly any side effects other than a touch of insomnia. But the truth about his mother's death has been kept a secret for his entire life, but he's always suspected that's there's something different about him, something that's not quite right, not quite human!
☭Gadgets/Helper:☭
Dark Romance is usually about 2 lovers being torn apart by unseen forces as you swap between players. Unlike the clever writing team of Ashville where they changed things up a bit with a journal that as one person pens an entry in the year 2000, it appeared to the person in the year 1985. The problem with this game is that someone got the bright idea that they should do a game similar to their first game Vampires in Love, except now Domini has really bright colorful graphics with an overabundance of yellows, pinks, and purples and they decided to give the original Vampire a stupid floaty cloak that reminded me of the Seer's antlered cloak in Saga of the Nine Worlds. To make matters more ridiculous they gave him a huge comb-over to the point that you laugh every time you see him. I can't take any of it seriously, why would you ruin a Vampire story with a G-rated version? [insert glitter-bomb]
☽☾Collectibles & Morphing Objects ☯(CE Version Only):
Once again, Domini has surprised us with no surprise when it comes to their completely predictable Collectibles & Morphing Objects. Once again there are 15 Morphing objects...this time they are Blood Sample Vials (AB-yum?) 15 Jewelry Items (Vampires=Jewelry...I totally see the connection here...okay, no I don't really see any connection here?) Once again, the entire town is littered with a gazillion Missing Notes, I have a confession to make, in my spare time I jot down all my thoughts and nefarious plans, one page at a time, on a single sheet of paper and then I place a single page in random places all over town just for grins and giggles (sometimes when I'm really bored, like now, for example, I take the Unicorn...his story's coming up, keep reading)...what are the chances of the same person finding all of those pages? There are 70 Coins to pilferage that are hidden away in the darkest corners of some of the Zoom Zones. They aren't your coins, they aren't in your house, they are in someone else's house, the people who live in those houses look like they need those coins more than you do, but you'll take them anyway, even worse, you'll both take them, it's okay, no one's looking, seriously, no one can see you, well technically, the owl is watching you but "whooo's" he gonna tell, Gabriel? He took some too, Sabrina, she just swiped a handful, it's a match made in heaven, Vampires In Love... oh wait, that was the first game lol.
◔Hidden Object Scenes◕
There are 9 Hidden Object Scenes +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available, which btw, doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly. (you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match) They include Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Descriptive Item Finds, Find 12 Odd Items withing several Pictures, and one that I thought was pretty creative where you turned discs to align two halves of a fish, shown as Silhouetted Shapes. When the fish were aligned, they would come to life in full color (mostly colorful male Beta fish) and jump into the center pond.
♙Mini-Games:♘
There are 21 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Here's a list of some of my personal favorites:
1-Shoot bats 3 times each, bats move forward after each shot.
2-Arrange flower petals according to the hint by rotating discs.
3-Climb a rope by adjusting 3 levers to align the target over each knot 1 at a time.
4-Use free slots to swap gears to their matching colored flowers, and then place gears so they fit correctly on the pegs.
5-Use directional arrows to rotate inner & outer edges so red candles are on the inside and blue candles are on the outer edges.
6-Use directional arrows to move counter or clockwise either 3-4 or 6 spaces to land on the correct symbols.
✯Bonus Chapter✯ (CE Version Only)
This Bonus Chapter takes us back to the "Origins" of Dr. Helsing and why she dedicated her life to pursuing Vampires. Honestly, this character is more interesting than all the other characters combined, but again, I just can't take a Vampire game seriously when Domini has flooded the scenes with their cutesy, over-abundance of rainbow fantasy colors. I was ready to see a pink Unicorn pop up from behind the trees at any moment to attack its victims with a silvery-purple glitter-bomb as it whinny-giggled its way back into the forest! This is an above average-length chapter (surprise!... [insert glitter-bomb]) spanning over a whopping 10 scene locations with 6 additional Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes. You will continue your search for the final 4 Morphing Blood Sample Vials, 4 Jewelry Items, and 15 Zoom Zone Coins which allows you to purchase the final Salon decorations...surprise with these same ole, same ole collections, it's always the same scenario with different names (it's even the same amount to collect) there's no surprise, so you don't get a unicorn glitter bomb this time :(
♕Collector's Edition Extra's♕ (CE version only)
15 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 30 Movie Video Cutscenes, 39 Achievements (the same achievements offered in all of their games and notice how you earn them in the order shown AND you earn them when you didn't really earn them because they are given to you at specific set-points, not by randomly earning them. In other words, you won't earn the 5th achievement first because that's not when the game is programmed to award them...seems rather disappointing now doesn't it?), 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Blood Sample Vials, 15 Jewelry Items, a gazillion Missing Notes...again! 70 Zoom Zone Coins to purchase 15 Boring Salon Items placed randomly in the middle of the floor, 6 Main Chapters (filled with cliche, repetitive tasks) +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Sooo, I'm just curious, if we earn stars for completing a level which unlocks other levels, why do we earn points for collecting objects when there's nothing to buy? I earn a whopping +1000 points for spotting the Lazy Turtle in each scene, that should put some serious $$ in the bank to purchase a souvenir or two? My "Point" here isn't just about the points, it's about making a point that every game doesn't need to be predictable, it doesn't have to have the same exact features. Think outside the box, keep the series exciting, offer new features while keeping the basic fan favorites so that people don't say "oh, it's just another Travel To game"

You can play in 3 different modes, a Relaxed Untimed Mode, 10-Minute Timed Mode, or a 3-Minute Timed Mode to complete each level. You will earn a single star on each HO location and the next location requires 2-3 stars to unlock it so you will need to replay the previous scenes in order to earn enough stars to progress.
Each scene has a Lazy Turtle to discover (once you find him he won't appear when you replay the same scene) and there are trivia facts before visiting each location. The Lazy Turtle was added a few games ago but I'm still going to push for the actual Lazy Turtle Logo to be used versus the plastic turtle because the Lazy Turtle Logo is one of the coolest logos I've seen. He's an adorable "lazy" turtle wearing a sombrero and leaning up against a palm tree. If they used a semi-transparent image of this logo and hid it in each scene it would be so much better and make much more sense! (free advertising too, never hurts) There are no misclick penalties and you can replay the scenes as often as you'd like, but each time the style changes between Listed Items, Silhouetted Shapes, and my favorite, Scrambled Letter finds. (which ain't as easy as you'd think folks)
My biggest complaint and one of the reason's I'm still leaning on a 4-star and not a 5-star rating is that the items remain in the same position every time you repeat the scene, and most of the time you are tasked with finding the same items over and over. Anyone can master a Hidden Object Scene if they stare at the same pattern 10 times in a row, right?

I actually didn't mind the sci-fi sound FX, I actually found the levels challenging at times because you have to construct the right resource platforms at the right time in order to progress, otherwise, you are left with no option but to restart the level, I actually kind of liked this game?!? I know, a shocker (especially to the developer I'm sure! tee-hee) So I bet you're confused as to why I'm only giving it a 1-star rating, right?
You can play in a High-Intensity Mode or a Relaxed Mode...however, the High-Intensity Mode on most levels, in my opinion, is stingy with the time, on some levels it's nearly impossible to get all 3 stars, and I simply don't enjoy playing on Relaxed mode because I don't want to play a TM game without being timed...it defeats the purpose of a time management game! This could have been solved by offering 3 modes of difficulty, a simple fix, but they didn't bother so neither will I.
The tasks can become monotonous and boring because they are basically the same tasks over and over, especially when you are tasked with using portals to go back and forth a billion times. The "feed me crystals" is a good concept but after collection approximately one billion crystals in each level, I'm just not all that enthusiastic about the crystals by the time I reach the end of the demo. The scenery couldn't be more boring to look at, I love sci-fi, I purchased the space-themed TM game and loved how the developers were able to use their imagination to create a space frontier, this developer has no imagination apparently, or didn't bother to use it, so neither will I.
Finally, if you expect me to pay twice as much for a Collector's Edition, and you expect me to look at boring scenery, at least throw in a morphing object or a colorful alien for me to collect in each scene to entice me to spend the extra money and give the CE a better rating so that others will see the value as well. Because you didn't, I didn't and I won't be buying this version, I will revisit the SE and maybe, just maybe I will use a PCC to continue my T.I.M.E journey with P.E.T & T.E.D

Reviewers came out of the woodwork in record numbers for the CE version of The Harbinger, GrandMa Studios' first attempt at a Mystery Case Files Game...131 reviews to be exact, and yet the game still failed to get past an average 3.3, "It was Okay" average rating, in fact, it barely made it to the "It was okay" rank as it lingered at the dreaded "Disliked It" rating. Here's the thing, the game was a good game, it really was, but MCF games are games that HOPA fans wait for all year long, they are the one game we know the developer pours everything into, it's a sacred game, it's a game that holds the highest honor to behold the bearer title (and then there's the revenue $$$) So the game HAS to be better than good, it HAS to be better than average, just because you mentioned a few past MCF games as a teaser and used the main character's profile it isn't enough to make it a MCF game. If this game didn't have the Mystery Case Files Title attached to it, would you really know it was part of the series?
There's a new girl in town and she's telling fortunes no one wants to hear, their impending deaths! This Harbinger of Doom and Gloom is either the real McCoy or she's a Serial-killing Sally, a Murdering Mary, a Homicidal Henrietta. Just wait till you find out where she's been, the Master Detective has a lot of dots to connect on this Mystery Case Files!
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE version only)
There are 54 Tarot Cards, one of which morphs, and when the entire collection is complete you can receive a Tarot prediction. The cards are blended nicely and morph at a nice rate to make them challenging yet not too frustrating to find eventually. There are also 20 Zoom Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces that allow you to assemble a downloadable picture.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 13 Main Hidden Object Scenes, 6 Zoom Zone Mini-HOP's +3 in the CE Bonus Chapter. They are mostly Interactive List Finds, but they have thrown in several variations, such as, Silhouetted Shape Progressive-Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds (find an item that matches the Silhouette and use within the scene to expose the next object, etc.) Multiples of the Same Object Finds, Find & Replace, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Swatches Finds (find areas shown as a swatch sample) Matching Stencils over flowers & Plants, and Logical Pair Matches, and one that I thoroughly enjoyed where you had to use arrows to scroll through panels to find & replace objects within the scene.
Mini-Games:
There are 32 Mini-Games +9 in the CE Bonus Chapter. There are a ton of simplistic matching pairs tasks as well. My biggest complaint is that MCF is special for one reason...the Rube Goldberg Door Puzzles...so if you can't pull this feature off, don't accept the challenge, period! Creating multiple puzzles does NOT constitute a Rube Goldberg puzzle, if you are not searching for clues as to how to solve the next puzzle, it isn't a Rube Goldberg puzzle. It is my strong opinion that BF got this developer switching scenario completely and utterly WRONG! the Hidden E series should have gone to this developer (I take that back...after careful consideration, BG should get the HE series, and GrandMa should get Dreadful Tales & Haunted Manor which btw used to be one of my fav series when TE originally developed it) and this series should have gone back to the giant pachyderms that developed games 10 and 11! (I have NOT waivered on the Big E taking back this series!!!) They have the ability to do the graphics well, to do the creep factor well, the storyline's a given for them, and most of all I know for a fact that they could pull off the Rube Goldberg Door Puzzles...no offense to Granny. I'm not dogging on this developer, they did a fantastic job with the game...but it calls for a Saturday night movie kind of creepy graphics and the game engine they use is more of a Saturday afternoon Matinee movie kind of graphics :(
I'm not even going to list my favorite games, they were so simplistic, move blocks, untangle wires, connect the dots, and let us not forget how much this developer loves their "one affects others" scenario that's in about every other game, not to mention 7 Cheesy Device Gadget mini-games... like any respectable Master Detective working for the Queen of England would be engaging in??
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only)
You will play a supernatural creature trying to regain her powers as the story continues directly where the Main Chapter left off but to tell you anything more would reveal the surprise ending of the main game. This is an average-length chapter that takes place over 7 Scene Locations with an additional 9 Mini-Games, 3 Hidden Object Scenes. You will continue collecting 14 Tarot Cards and the final 5 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces as well.
Collector's Edition Extra's:
10 Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art Pictures, 16 Movie Cutscene Videos, 8 Music Soundtracks ♪, 13 Replayable Mini-Games♙, 16 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Achievements, 54 Tarot Cards (1 Morphing 1 Regular used to get a prediction) 20 Zoom Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces (used to assemble downloadable picture) 4 Main Chapters (The Fated) +Bonus Chapter (Her Path) and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I could tell you a bit about the storyline, I could. But I'd rather tell you about how HOPA games have made me feel lately, and why this game was different! Lately, they bore me, they all have predictable stories with unimaginative plots. Call of the Hills seemed that way at first...but man, did I get a plot shock! They all have the same repetitive tasks, over and over, back and forth, seems like the boringness will never end and the scenes are so alike, I can't tell one game from the next...but man, this is one beautiful game! I couldn't wait to see what beautiful scene was waiting for me next! Then there are the collectibles, you know the ones, the same ole same ole, the morphing objects that are the size of cars and morph into an out of place object that scream "look at me" and collectibles that are just "clickables"?...but this game has beautiful opaque elves and morphs that make you pause, and stare at the beautiful scenery because they aren't so easily spotted because they are exactly what they are supposed to be...an ADDED CHALLENGE!
Now I did find fault with the level of challenge in the fact that you only have to search one scene at a time in most cases. It's pretty hard not to figure out a game when everything is neatly organized into one or 2 scenes at the most. I also thought the mini-games and hidden object scenes could have been more creative. But if you are looking for a game with beautiful graphics and one heck of a story that is full of surprises, and may even bring a tear or two to your eyes...look no further! Job well done Friendly Fox Studios :)
Collectibles/Morphing Objects:
Each scene has 2 of those famous Friendly Fox Opaque Collectibles (5 different Glass Elves unlocked at 5-10-22-37-52) They are beautiful little elves that I loved searching for and I hope they never abandon this feature! Each scene also has 2 Morphing Objects, some of the scene morphs are well-hidden and they morph at a decent pace, although I would love to see them a little bit smaller for a little added challenge :)
Gadget/Helper:
There is a Gadget and a Helper. An Irish Setter that is used to dig up an item 5 times and an Amulet Gadget that is used 5 times as well in the Main Chapter. The Amulet is used to search the scene for 5 runes each time you find a new bead, this was the most worthless gadget of all time, the "runes" were so easy to spot, not to mention that there were only 5 of them made it seem like a chore rather than an additional feature intended to delight the player.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 17 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter. The HO scenes were just okay, some of them were actually kind of boring and the items were very easy to spot. There are Interactive List Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Find and Replace Items, Spot the Difference Finds, Multiples of the Same or Similar Object, Opposites, and a very simplistic and repetitive HOP associated with the Amulet Gadget where you are tasked with finding 5 Runes in a scene.
Mini-Games:
There are 38 Mini-Games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Many of these games are tasks with directions rather than actual games, they are simple to solve such as entering codes shown on a piece of paper, putting fragments together, matching pairs of objects, or choosing objects in a specific order by trial and error...and they are not skippable! (this may upset a lot of players, but they really are easy tasks) Here are a few of my personal favorites:
1-Place figurines so that they don't share the same diagonal, horizontal, or vertical lines.
2-Select objects to place in a grid.
3-Use all numbered tiles to move through the maze.
4-Toggle various sliders to aim the target.
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only)
The story continues the World of Seeds as a rebellion takes place against the King and Cathrine tries to put the pieces together of her family secret while helping the King restore his Kingdom in this average-length chapter that takes place over 8 Scene Locations. This is one of the few Bonus Chapters that held my interest, the developers were wise to continue this story to help us put the pieces together, rather than go off on another adventure with a different character or go back in time! There are 10 Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes and you will continue searching for 2 Opaque Elves and 2 Morphing Objects per scene which will unlock the final 2 Glass Elves in your collection.
Collector's Edition Extra's
10 Wallpapers (all w/characters) 13 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 23 Movie Video Cutscenes, 15 Achievements, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 52 Opaque Elves (2 per scene) 52 Morphing Objects (2 per scene) 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Yes, my anti-virus blocked this program. No, I'm not worried because Big Fish has never allowed anything nefarious to slip through the cracks and it's usually because the program has a name that is similar to a known naughty program and not because it's actually in disguise ⊙⊙! Don't let all that hype scare you, this developer worked hard to create a unique Match 3 game that's actually quite fun...but it does take a little while to catch on to the game mechanics.
You can play in a Relaxed Mode (and I do recommend switching back and forth between modes on some of the various "houses") you can also enable a custom cursor, otherwise, you will automatically get the system cursor.
Each House you enter has a different type of entity to battle, and each battle or level requires you to destroy a specified number of those entities, naturally, the number increases with each level. There are 3 different Power-ups or "Spells" available and they can be used and should be used as soon as they recharge by making matches of various stones.
*Magic Arrow: destroys a single stone of your choice.
*Fire Bird: destroys an entire row of your choice.
*Arrow Rain: shoots several arrows onto the field to destroy random targets.
THORN QUEEN HOUSE
You will battle the Thorn Queen who throws spores onto the playing field. The spores will become ranks that can't be matched after a few moves if the spores aren't destroyed, and it will keep tiles from falling. You can match the spores, use spells, or special stones.
VAMPYR HOUSE
You must drive away the bats in this house by making adjacent matches, the bats themselves can also be moved. This is one of the easiest of battles.
WRAITH HOUSE
This is the haunted house that throws ghosts onto the playing field. Ghosts can be banished with spells or special stones and they can be swapped like a stone, but these little guys can multiply like rabbits and you have to make sure you explode the bombs as close to them as possible!
SWAMP TREE
This house has a tree that throws spores onto the playing field that glue stones after a few moves if not destroyed. Glued stones can be freed by adjacent matches and spores can also be matched.
SORCERER
This is a battle where you take turns. The sorcerer curses the fields and on his turn, the sorcerer throws all known enemies on the playing field.
Keep in mind that a Match 4 will create a Bomb Stone that must then be included in a match with whichever colored stone the Bomb created to explode adjacent stones. A Match 5 or larger will create a Chain Stone of various strengths to destroy columns and or rows, depending on how large the match was that you made. When you combine the special stones they can create one heck of an explosion. Now I know I usually don't like M3 games that are all about the explosions that play the game for you but this game is so unusual...it absolutely doesn't play the game for you when you are using the spells or power-ups, sometimes it's the only way to unblock those curses! If all else fails and you are having difficulty defeating a cursed house, switch to the Relaxed mode, it's still a blast!
I recommend this game!

l⊙⊙k closer, l⊙⊙k past the pretty blue graphics and the Little Mermaid knockoff story and you'll realize you've played this game before. You've played this exact same game before...down to the exact same level layouts because they haven't changed anything but the graphics and the story. That's this developer's M.O, and it's wrong! Another feature this developer is known for is not giving us any other difficulty mode options other than a Relaxed Untimed Mode...what's the point of playing?
You can only play in a Relaxed Untimed Mode in this Swap type Match 3 game, where you swap tiles to make matches of at least 3 identical elements. You must make matches over all of the Gold or Red Cells and make the required number of matches of each Element and you must bring all Amulets to the bottom of the board by making matches under them. Elements inside of Bubbles, Morph (I think they appear when you make large matches, but I'm not positive) which allows you to pop the bubble when the desired element appears inside the bubble.
You must purchase all 4 Upgrades to progress to the next Chapter, with the Stars you earn playing the Match 3 levels. You can purchase Tools with the Amulets and Gold & Red Tiles you uncovered and upgrade the Mermaid's Outfits with the elements (3 outfits per chapter)
Large Matches allow you to use any of the Power-ups once the Mana Meter recharges. The larger the match, the quicker the Mana Meter fills. Once the Mana meter fills, Tools become available once they have been purchased.
TOOLS:
*Glenn's Axe destroys a single tile and/or chain.
*Bubble Bomb: destroys a 2 x 2 square range of tiles cells/chains.
*Mermaids Staff: clears 5 tiles horizontally.
*Mermaids Scepter: clears 5 tiles vertically
*Ocean's Trident: destroys an entire horizontal line, cells/chains.
*Lightning Trident: destroys an entire vertical line, cells/chains.
*Mermaids Pendant: destroys the entire horizontal & vertical line.
*Allura's Collection destroys all of the same tiles.
*Magic Coral: shuffles the board.
*Magic Shell: destroys 20 random elements.
*Magic Bomb: destroys a 9 x 9 square of tiles and chains.
*Monster Egg: destroys a massive square of elements, cells/chains.

It l⊙⊙ks like we have another Match 3 game with NO Timed options so that automatically cuts the fan base by about 95%! It's really a shame too because some of the games this developer is cranking out lately have been decent games because they have finally changed some of the features and the level layouts. Unfortunately, as joybelle states, without the timer option, it's a no-buy for me as well.

Just when I get things all nice and tidy, along comes another ridiculously Xtreme Clutter version that's absolutely maddening! Don't worry, because once again, Joe has thought about every type of Clutter player and has added options to allow you to customize the degree of madness you want while de-cluttering the clutter :)
You Can Choose from 3 Cursor sizes in Red, Green, and Blue and you can also customize the following:
*Timer: enable/disable timer.
*Starter Hints: enable/disable Match Hints if you stall a little too long.
*Unlimited Hints: enable/disable unlimited hints mode.
*Click Penalty: enable/disable penalties for misclicks.
*Slider Puzzles (in Quest Mode) allows you to bypass Slider Puzzles.
*Tips & Tricks: enable/disable commentary w/ tips & tricks.
*Colorize Toggle: de-color your clutter world.
*Shadow Toggle: enable/disable Silhouettes in pop-up boxes.
*Story: enable/disable the Story Joe has worked so hard on?
*Tall & Wide: enable/disable the latest Clutter variation, never!
*Chaos Toggle: enable/disable the hectic chaos of moving objects, demons begone!
There are over 1700 puzzles in this Xtreme edition which allows you can place a Star on your favorite levels and they can all be replayed. There are some old and new Clutter styles such as See 2, Match 2 (match 2 identical objects) Mah Jong Influenced levels where you remove photos w/ Mah Jong rules applied, Fantastic Fours where you find 4 design sections to a sphere, Round & Round Octagon where you find matching discs within two moving circles (you can adjust the speed of the moving circles) Hunting vs. Finding where you have to "hunt" for the matches, and one of my favorites, Clutter Tiles where you find matching circular tiles.
To break up the monotony, there are tons of puzzles like sliders and tile swap puzzles but these are no ordinary puzzles, these are puzzles that will test the will of the most seasoned die-hard puzzle geeks, and I love the. Thanks, Joe! :)

Completed Game approximately 5.5 hours
(including completion of all mini-games & some of the CE Bonus Chapter)
24 Main Game Scene Locations +9 Bonus Chapter
Difficulty Range: Beginner
Hidden deep within the Earth's crust are three worlds, The Underground World, the World of Prophecies, and the Meridian World. The inhabitants of this world know that one day humans will enter their world and steal their Magical Crystals which will evoke deadly wars between the worlds until all humanity is destroyed. The prophecy may have already begun because today Simon and Olivia have just discovered the Underground World.
This is a beautiful game but holy Jules Verne, all you are doing is going back and forth to and fro like a Journey to the Center of the Earth and Back, only not as fun or interesting after a billion times! Hope you like clearing smoke, even Domini knows it was excessively used because they say "I've got to clear more smoke!" Have you run out of ideas? It sure seems that way because the games are always the same scenario with the same tasks, but at least you didn't make me do it for 8 chapters this time, so thank heavens for that!
Gadgets/Helper:
No Gadgets or Helpers!
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only):
There are Morphing Crystal Birds (with descriptions) that morph between a crystal and 15 beautiful birds. They morph at a nice rate of speed but they are rather small and may be challenging to spot for some individuals. There are also 15 various Backpack Items that seem rather out of place with the whole otherworldly, fantasy-themed scenario, to me when you have a beautiful crystal cockatoo sitting next to a flashlight? As usual, there are 70 Zoom Zone Coins that can be used to purchase 15 Garden Decorations that are just crammed in the middle of a scene and it doesn't appear that anyone got super creative with the decorations. There is an optional Collection Icon Tab that can be enabled or disabled in the settings as well.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 14 Hidden Object Scenes +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available, which btw, doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly. (you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match which makes the game seem sooo slooowww) There are a ton of Keywords in Sentence Finds which were super easy and super boring. There were also Interactive Listed Item Finds, Combo Silhouetted Shape Finds, scenes that required placing Stencils over Objects in the scene, Choosing missing words and then finding 3 related items, and a pop-up Storybook Silhouetted Shape Finds...all of the items can literally be found within seconds.
Mini-Games:
There are 20 Mini-Games +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Below are a few of my personal favorites:
1-Swap crystals to match the picture (hard mode: 1 affects others)
2-Adjust the pipes so the fuel bypasses 2 pressure gauges & fills all 3 barrels, select a pipe to rotate it, select valves to release fuel. LOVED this game.
3-Enter numbers so none of the columns, rows, or connected lines have duplicate numbers.
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only)
This chapter enlightens us on how the one and only human, Etien Verne (any relation to Jules Verne?) came to live in the Underground World. I was completely bored by this point and simply checked the statistics and gave up. I was completely over the back and forth nonsense that Domini just can't seem to figure out. This is an above-average-length chapter but average-length chapter for Domini (because you repeat the same task and go back & forth a billion times) spanning over 9 scene locations with 7 additional Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes, You will continue your search for the final 4 Morphing Crystal Birds, 5 Backpack Items, and 10 Zoom Zone Coins (of varying amounts) which allows you to purchase the final Garden Decorations.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only)
19 Wallpapers, 34 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 29 Movie Video Cutscenes, 40 Achievements, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Crystal Birds,15 Backpack Items, a gazillion Missing Notes, 70 Zoom-Zone Coins, 15 Garden Decorations (purchase with coins) 4 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.
