This is a good game if you want to just enjoy yourself, and not struggle through a really difficult scenario. It's not *easy*, just not incredibly difficult.
I loved the graphics, but found the scenes where you were looking through a hood annoying, as it framed the view.
A nice mix of terrains.
I recommend this game!

Mystery of Mortlake Mansion
Explore the dark halls of Mortlake Mansion and discover its secrets! Break the evil spells and become the owner of the mansion!
Well, it wasn't awful. The voiceovers really grated on me, and the hero would have to be the stupidest person in the world. I prefer more realistic graphics, and occasionally found it hard to complete HOS scenes because I couldn't tell what something was supposed to be, but it was rather beautifully put together.
Aside from the whole real world/shadow world thing, this game didn't really offer anything new. Some of the mini games were challenging, but a lot of them were *yawn, how many times have I done this before*. I *tried* to play it in hard mode, but ended up in easy mode, and I'm not sure how.
I was rather bored towards the end, and glad to have it over with. If you can get it on a cheap deal, it is entertaining enough to be worth it, but I wouldn't pay full price.
Definitely one to buy. I could hardly put this game down. The graphics are great and the story interesting. A little more challenge wouldn't have hurt, especially in the hidden object scenes, which were (mostly) fairly straightforward to get through.
By the time the punchline was revealed, it came as no surprise at all.
The bonus chapter was also a lot of fun. I hope there's a sequel!

I really enjoyed this game. The graphics were great and there was plenty of variety in the scenery. The story was interesting and the level of challenge was pretty good. Faces appearing in windows added to the atmosphere. If I had to nitpick, I'd say that one of the details in the wrap-up story perhaps needed a little more explanation - but it was an issue of clarity rather than not fitting in with the story.
There was definitely enough to work through in this game to give hours of enjoyable gameplay, without being so difficult that it became frustrating.
As you move through the scenes, there are postcards to collect. I think I might have missed one or two so one day I might go back and play again. It's kind of a fun little thing to see if you can find them all without impacting on any of the other game goals.
This is a lot of 'spot the difference', which is probably my least favourite type of game. There may have been a storyline, but it was completely irrelevant to the game. If you paused, the game would show you where the differences are - fine for me, as I just wanted it to be over, but if you want some challenge in your difference-spotting, it takes away all the fun.
Having said that, I really loved the Egyptian setting, and the graphics were quite nice. The music was OK.
I had a lot of fun with this game. It was challenging, the art was great, and had an interesting plotline. I found the monster deliciously scary without being too much.
It's not as happily ever after as it could have been, but that adds to the atmosphere.
I found the graphics very difficult to get used to, and the game is monotonous and repetitive. The story is puerile. This is more suited to a young child than an adult.
I'm certainly not going to waste any more of the rest of my life finishing this game.
Loved the story, and the under sea visuals! I would've liked a little more challenge, and occasionally, it was hard to see how some of the tasks progressed the overall goal. But I'm really glad I bought it, and had an awfully good time playing it.
