This game is a very very basic (almost tutorial like) version of railroad tycoon (or others in that ilk). If you are expecting a game with any depth then this is not for you, it is a very simple game possibly aimed at children. All you need to do is build track where the game dictates and then 'collect' the correct number of items (fruit, veg etc) that that particular level needs to complete.
Another major bug-bear for me was that as I am left-handed the game doesn't recognise this and is defaulted to use for a right-handed person, just to give fair-warning.

Considering this is in essence a solitaire game the themes are very (IMHO) dark and depressing. This game deals with domestic violence (as the backdrop storyline), and has tarot cards and mysticism thrown in, Think BF should warn on all games if there are these types of themes in a game, as people would just expect a nice 'lighthearted' card game.
The music also I didn't find relaxing more unnerving so this as well as the above meant 'I pulled the plug' after around 10 minutes.
Also if you have your mouse set for a left-handed user this game will not work with that configuration thus you have to use the right button as the left click (using the mouse as if you were a left-handed person).

If I wanted a 'snap' style of game I would have downloaded a Mahjong and I would know that is what I wanted. In the main it seems BF solitaire games are either 'snap' or the 'golf' (one up one down) variety. I prefer the later as at this you had to think more strategically as to what you next move would be and the consequences of perhaps playing one card over another. This game was based on pure luck and not particularly any strategy. The concept of the game was OK but having played the free trial I was getting almost always strikes, thus didn't make me want to purchase it. If you just want a simple game or a game for a child to learn to play 'snap' then this should keep you/them entertained if you want something that has a 'bit of meat to the bones' then purchase something like Fairway or Avalon or any of the other 'golf' varieties.
Sorry for the cheesy title but it really is. From the Tchaikovsky music (I admit I had to look up the spelling of that), to the game play and the excellent story and VO's. This is another 'cracker' from 'Nelly' (as in Elephant). As others have said the mini-games are all for fun and not particularly brain-power. This is good though as it allows you to keep flowing with the story and not get frustrated and either 'cheat' by over-using the hint or strategy guide or not bothering to finish at all (which given this game would be a shame). This is a good game and captures the season very well (even though for a Brit it is a 'wonder life' kind of impression (i.e imagining what Christmas 'should be'), this does not detract at all from the game and is well worth the purchase
In the hour trial you should find out how the prince became porcelain which even if you don't then go on to purchase the game can be deemed a mini game/story in itself and thus you have to then decide if you want to 'save' the princess or just leave her to the rats! As this is on a BOGOF offer will defiantly purchase (just got to now decide on my other game).

If you have played any of the others in this series then you will know the set-up of how this series works. The format is the same as the others in the series in that the game is a 'traditional' HO game punctuated with history postcards giving you historical information about the city (in this case Paris), The mini-games are the same as others in the series, so all in all just as the title says, same game different city.
Even on a 'bogof' offer I don't think I will be purchasing as the last one (London had both an adventure and the traditional HO game so I think I will stick with that one). If you have enjoyed others then I would recommend trying it before buying it.

This is a good traditional round of 'golf solitaire'. The concept has been done before but not in the way this game executes it. As in all these type of 'jokey' medical spoof games, they are 'silly illness' (though not quite up to the standard of the old (but still played) Theme Hospital for the PC).
The further you progress you get different power-ups to help you through the game, there is a 'mulligan' type as well as a 'utility iron' one (sorry 'fairway' references) but I am figuring that most people will have played that game if they are looking to buy or try this game.
I didn't get much further in the hour free trial. The game was good, though because I have played the aformentioned solitaire game for a long while, I found the 'tricky' level too easy and was getting three stars on all rounds. This compounded by the fact that on each round there is a 'whack a mole' style of game for extra cards mean that in my opinion the challenge is not too difficult.
Also considering it is what I would have thought to be a relatively light game graphics wise (which it is), then the loading time is long and as such this kind of detracts away from the continuity of the gameplay.
All in all though tis a good game and one that I would at least recommend trying

This is a good game and a good take on other 'cafe-style' type games that are on the market.
The way this is different is that instead of 'sim type people' you are playing with 'cute' teddy bears (though some are cuter than others), and the chef is also a teddy bear (kind of far-fetched, but makes for a cutesy type of game). The game for me though whilst starts of gentle(ish), gets too difficult to quickly, normally on the first few levels I can get master (expert), but on this game I was getting a pass but that is all nothing higher.
The game got frantic and there was no 'give' in that if you made a single mistake it kind of threw you 'off balance' for that whole level.
The game was good though and as I bought it when the game was on offer was well worth the purchase (as it would have replay value just trying to get master on the levels).
I would recommend this game if like me you get it on offer.
Like my review for the other in the series, this follows the same format, in the mini-games and the riddles. Also like the other some of the riddles are a tad abstract and possibly a little too Americanised in some of the riddles so I had to guess the answers. If the games are going to be sold worldwide then the producers ought to recognise this in the production.
Other than the above the story is good, and you learn all about one of the greats in the classical music (the history is almost spot on with only a few tweaks to add 'something' to the story.
Good game, got this on a special 1/2 price offer, and would only recommend if similar offer, or going to use a 'punch' or other voucher code.

This is good alternative to and HO game, had different little mini-games as well as the riddles (some are a little too abstract and perhaps Americanised than a 'over the pond' player may have needed or wanted.
The storyline was good and a good 'history lesson' as I discovered the history of the Mayan. The hour was over quickly and as this game was an 1/2 price offer I decided to buy. I would probably only recommend if you were to use a 'punch', voucher, game credit, or if it is on offer, don't think I would have paid full price.

This game reminds me of a kind of a Watson and Holmes scenario. The game feel has an old English world charm, and the voice acting supports this. This is born out in the fact that one of the first challenges is to make a cup of tea (I think it the world over England is synonymous with its tea-drinking. Considering this was the SE edition, the voice acting was good, as was the music both really carrying the story. The puzzles were 'different' but sometimes a bit too abstract for me (this is based purely on the free trial).
One slight negative (though this may have been a fault on my computer), was that sometimes there was a delay when accessing the 'inventory' or going from scene to scene.
Though I know I would get a more 'rounded' game feel in the CE I think I will use a 'punch' and get this for free.
One thing I will say though is that I usually play the 'Middle' version (not casual, not expert (can be called different things in different games), this usually means no objects are highlighted for pick-up and no HO zones are highlighted, this had both and whilst other things had a greater degree of difficulty (such as limited map help), it did for me detract slightly from the game-play level I assumed I had chosen (from playing many many other HO games). Though it did detract slightly not enough to not make me want to buy it, just point I thought I ought to mention.
Good game would recommend if you like the Sherlock Holmes style of game-play.
