I bought this game without playing the demo because I like some of the other Youda games, including the first Sushi Chef. Bad decision! This game is chock full of bugs, glitches, and crashes.
1. It took 8 restarts before I could access the coin awards section of the game, and then it wouldn't let me choose anything I clicked on. 2. At least 50% of the time, I was unable to choose an upgrade in the other sections without exiting and restarting the game. 3. Sometimes it takes multiple clicks of the mouse on an ingredient to move it to the prep area. Usually when you've got a table full of customers. 4. The game crashes at random times. I never played more than 20 minutes without a crash. 5. Level goals and instructions aren't always clear. 6. If you restart a level in the middle of a level, you lose any power ups you used before restarting, instead of resetting the entire level as if you hadn't played it at all. 5. You don't see new recipes until game play has started, and the clock doesn't pause to look at the recipe book. I end up looking at the book to learn the new recipe, then restart the level so I won't lose customer patience. 6. This game doesn't have much leeway for mistakes. Each level has a $ amount AND a task. You have to accomplish both to get the prize. Sometimes the level has to be replayed several times to get enough high paying customers to complete the $ goal. 7. There is no instruction section for this game. *You'll get a brief tutorial in the beginning, and the occasional pop up to tell you what to do with something new. The pop ups are irritating as the clock doesn't pause, and you have to click on the check mark to make it disappear. *You don't know how much each dish sells for. You just have to pay attention as people pay while you're playing to figure it out. *Don't expect any help from the game to develop a game play strategy. You'll have to find a forum, or develop your own....if you can play long enough between crashes. 8. The upgrades are insanely expensive, and I never figured out how to earn more gold. You play each level 3 times, and at least one of those times you earn a set amount of gold. Once you've completed that level, you can't play it again to earn more gold.
Reading tech issue and game play forums for this game, it doesn't appear Youda cares to fix the technical issues that have been reported for well over a year now, and I'm surprised Big Fish hasn't pulled it off the shelf. Even without the tech problems, this game is frustrating to say the least. I've never abandoned a game, but I'm so fed up with this one it's headed to the virtual dump.

I love wedding TM games and this one had great potential. The trial version was fun so I bought the full game. It was a mistake. I nearly pulled my hair out in frustration!!!
Basics: You work in a wedding salon providing customers with various wedding related services. As a bonus, you're getting married so you collect coins to spend on creating your own lovely wedding!
Pros: 1. Nice graphics. I like the background, and you get to move to a new salon every few rounds. 2. Nice idea. Not really anything new and novel on the TM front but pleasant nonetheless. You're providing various services for wedding parties at the salon. 3. Upgrades. You can upgrade different parts of the salon as you go along. 4. Hidden bonuses. There are roses and hearts hidden in the scene to find for bonuses. 5. You can ply customers with coffee to increase their hearts. Especially nice later in the game when the coffee maker is automatic. Another nice feature is that you just click on the coffee cup and it automatically goes to the person who needs it. 6. A music box helps with patience...with the caveat being that it runs down and you have to reactivate it often. 7. You get to decorate your own wedding/reception space. There are three choices for each item which you spend coins to get. One coin is earned for each round you achieve an expert score in. 8. When you complete a salon you can level up your tips, speed, or hearts.
Cons:....This is why you'll pull your hair out!
Mini Game Woes: 1. When you move a person to a station, an object matching type mini game will pop up where you have to click on the correct object...sometimes you have to click on 3 out of 6 of them. 2. The timer doesn't pause and the patrons keep coming and going during the mini game. You can see people walk out of the salon because 2 or 3 minigames pop up in a row and you didn't have a chance to move other people around to make room for the newcomers. 3. You cannot skip or pause the minigame to do anything else. 4. If you choose incorrectly on the minigame, it doesn't just make the customer mad, it makes you keep playing until you choose the correct item, which takes just as long or longer. 5. When you finish a minigame at a station, most of the time the customer will stay at the station and request something else. For example, if you choose jewelry the customer will stay to have it wrapped. This baffled me until I figured out what was going on. Intuitively, I expect to move a customer after the first task is completed. This double dipping really messes up my timing. 6. The minigame pop ups take forever to close when you finish. This often means losing customers or hearts, thus making the later levels nearly impossible. 7. The minigame pop up window takes up half the screen, and you often forget what you were doing before it came up, or can't see the majority of the customers to plan your next move while it takes forever to close.
Misc. hair removers: 1. You cannot complete your wedding venue unless you get an expert score in every single round. 2. The price for improving salon stations is too high. It takes 2 or more rounds to earn enough to level up just one out of two chairs, or cases. 3. You cannot learn the behavior of your customers when replaying a round because they're always random. This could've been a saving grace for this game, but it isn't gonna happen. Conversely, this would be a great touch if the pop up minigames didn't cause so much lag time. 4. The music is pleasant enough but too repetitive.
I keep trying to like this one, and have spent hours replaying some of the later levels to no avail. Games are supposed to be fun and challenging, or fun and relaxing. This is like a scene from the movie Groundhog Day, except you never end up winning!
I can't recommend this one if you're the type of person who likes to complete games with an expert rating on all levels. If you don't care and can get this game for a daily deal price then maybe try it.

I really enjoyed the first RD: The Lord of Statues. Unfortunately, this sequel was less thoughtfully designed and easier to play. I'm glad I bought this with a coupon instead of paying full price.
I thought the storyline had a lot of potential, but wasn't fleshed out properly. There should've been a few seconds spent on catching the player up on who the girl is (referring to the first game). I found her to be annoying after a while too. The other character's histories are revealed a little at a time, which is nice, but in such a way as to be able to guess some things about them which kind of ruins the fun.
It also features my number one pet peeve with game design....an unfinished ending!!!! In this case, my irritation is two fold. First, the ending is very abrupt. At least the designers could've panned out for 2 or 3 extra seconds to process what happened. Second, players won't see the real end of the story unless they buy the CE and play the bonus game. That tactic makes my blood boil! Then we circle back to my first issue because the ending of the bonus game is just as abrupt as the first!!!
Pros: 1. Nice graphics for game play. 2. Interesting storyline, if a little problematic. 3. Collector items. There are morphing dragons during the main game and collector cards during the bonus game. 4. Interactive map. The map shows areas for actions needed, and lets you jump to different locations....which helps a lot later. 5. Several difficulty levels to choose from.
Cons: 1. Movie graphics. I thought the animation looked a little like we were under water. The clothing didn't flow right and the characters moved oddly. Worse than that, the animation didn't match the graphics in the game. It felt a little disjointed. 2. Voice overs. I'm not a fan of voice overs, and this one has a lot. 3. The statues were used in the game, but lacked the intrigue from the first game. IMO, this is what makes this series unique and fun. 4. Instructions for a couple of the minigames were too vague. It took a while to figure out how to play. 5. Abrupt endings! 6. Short game play. I finished this one in about an hour and a half, with interruptions.
I recommend this one, with reservations. Don't bother with the SE, and only get the CE with a coupon. It isn't worth paying full price, but it is a nice down time diversion.

I generally hate pay to play games, but thought I'd give this one a whirl based on the teaser. Nope. Should've moved on and spent a couple of hours of my life elsewhere. Game play feels disjointed and there isn't anything to explain what the items are for in my bag. I'm really struggling to find the positives in this game!
Pros: 1. Nice graphics 2. Fun mini games
Cons: 1. Pay to play...While the game is free to download and start playing, you WILL have to fork over real money in order to progress through this game. 2. Not much happening....You end up talking to a couple of characters who give you tasks, but there isn't any real exploration to be had. 3. Waiting, waiting, and more waiting. Each time you complete a HOS (there are only 3 in the first bit), the timer starts counting down and locks the HOS until the timer reaches zero. Each time you play, there is time added to the clock so you wait longer to play it again. There is absolutely nothing else to do while you wait, unless you pay to play a mini game, or pay to speed up the timer. 4. The mini games are super short and are only free to play once every 24 hours....not game hours, real hours. Otherwise, you have to pay to play them again sooner.
Overall, this feels less like a quest and more like a fleecing.
I love Gatsby, so the storyline in the game was interesting but too easy IMO.
Pros: 1. Imaginative story set in modern day which involves Gatsby's property and story. 2. A pocket watch lets you see back in time occasionally. This is a nice touch in an otherwise dark story. 3. Easy enough for beginners. 4. Map shows the next action area.
Cons: 1. A lot of talking. I finally turned off the voice overs and read the text. 2. Pretty linear as far as actions. You pick up something to be used the very next thing. I prefer to pick up items here and there to use later. 3. Lots of walking around. You can see where the next action is to be done on the map, but can't jump there.
I recommend this one if you're a beginner, or just want to relax, and only if you don't pay full price.

This was a fun twist on the classic Christmas Carol story. I played the entire game and bonus content over about 4 days, off and on. If you're going to bulldoze through it you may find the tasks too repetitive, so I recommend taking your time with breaks in between. This is a pretty long game.
Pros: *Engaging storyline. You are Scrooge's nephew who has the opportunity to change Scrooge's past....which has rippling effects in the future. *Lovely graphics. *Finding bonus hidden penguins. One in each scene that morphs occasionally into an object. *The background music is Christmasy, soothing, and not intrusive. *Games and puzzles weren't too difficult....a pro in this case because I wanted to relax and not pull my hair out. *Several levels of difficulty to choose from. *I especially liked the method for putting useful items together. One of the items will have an x next to it in the inventory. When you've collected all the pieces, click the x to make that piece full screen, then pull the other pieces out of inventory to use with it. The completed item goes back into the inventory bar for future use. *Some items aren't used right away. *Map to jump to locations. *Fun bonus game. The bonus wasn't necessary to finish the story, as some developer's have begun to do. It flowed nicely with the main game but was a story unto itself.
Cons: *The music doesn't play all the time. There's quite a bit of silence with only ambient sounds. *I didn't care for the voice overs. Not really detrimental, I just read the dialog quick and click to continue. *In one or two of the HOG's, an item was darker or right in the bottom corner. *Some of the game is intuitive...meaning you'll think you're stuck but only need to stop and think about the next step. Not really a con but a stumbling block at first. Once I figured this out, playing was smoother. For example: Tiny Tim's amulet was tricky...I thought it was a glitch, like many other players. It just takes some patience and creativity.

Pros: 1. This game was generously long. I played it over 3 days off and on. The lengthy bonus game tied up loose ends superbly. 2. In the options menu, you can choose to turn on or off things like sparkling areas of interest, hints, etc. I really liked this feature a lot. It made the game more challenging without having to jump up to a harder level. 3. The voice overs are nice and the characters are interesting. 4. I liked using an unexpected object to accomplish a task. It challenged me to really think about what needed to be done. 5. The map was extremely helpful in figuring out what to do. It lets you jump to any area you've been to before.... without the recharging nonsense I've seen in other game maps. 6. There is a storyteller that pops up once in a while to give you another piece of history regarding the current events. This made the game refreshingly engaging. 7. The strategy guide has a tab on the inventory bar making it easy to get an extra hint when you're really stuck. I used it a time or two. 8. There is a fairy who uses magic to help you occasionally. This was a unique feature I haven't seen in other games.
Cons: 1. The game didn't always seem logical to me. There were a couple of times I jumped around trying to figure out what to do next only to finally find a HOG. 2. I figured out the culprit pretty early on. Wish they'd given me a few less clues until later. But that said, it didn't ruin the story for me and I was still a little surprised by some of the twists and turns. 3. The diary is kind of useless. You don't ever have to refer to it for recipes or codes, but it does give you the summary of each important event. 4. Some of the items to pick up are so well blended into the scene I ended up missing them. That's when I had to use the strategy guide to figure out where I'd gone wrong. Keep your eyes peeled on every close up. 5. Dropping or clicking items to make something happen can be tricky. Some games have a wide area where the mouse click will trigger the result but you have to be pretty exact with this game. One time, I knew what to place but couldn't get it to go there. I ended up clicking almost everywhere on the screen to get it to engage. This was only an occasional annoyance though. 6. If you only get the SE version you'll miss some good bonus stuff!
I loved this game. It has colorful interesting graphics, pleasant background music, good voice overs, and lots of cut scenes.
I don't usually buy CEs because I don't care about wallpaper or music, and the bonus games are often one short filler chapter or have nothing to do with the overall story. This one was worth the extra cost. The bonus game is a pretty lengthy prologue of the events leading up to the story in the main game.
You'll look for fragments in the HO scenes, which come together to give you a useful item. The fragments are blended into the background with a picture of each in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. There isn't a penalty for incorrect clicks, so I like to guess without looking at the toolbar.
There are a few puzzles, which I didn't find particularly difficult, but you can skip them without a penalty. There are also 20 morphing items throughout the game, which is a fun bonus. The morphing items change subtly from one thing to another. When you find them the hints will charge faster.
The only frustrating parts of the game are lack of a journal, and the occasional illogically placed HOG. I like a journal to help me remember where I left off when taking a break from the game. Twice, I got stuck not knowing what to do next. The map will show symbols over a land when there is something you need to do, but on those two occasions there wasn't a symbol and I wandered around until I found a HOG that gave me the tool for my next move. You can also use the hint button to show you where you need to go next without having to recharge the hint.
There is one part where you have to choose between helping one tribe or another. While this gave my teenage daughter a little anxiety, the dilemma makes the game more interesting.
I don't think this game was super challenging, but it was fun, relaxed, and well worth the $. I'm looking forward to more in the Enchantia series!

The graphics were beautiful, and the game play was challenging, but not difficult. You'll need to go back and forth a lot to complete tasks.
The only problem I had was getting off the elevator. Turns out you just need to turn around. An exit sign with an arrow pointing to the side would've been a welcome addition at that point. I had to search the forums to find the solution, and it seemed a lot of others had the same problem too.
While there could've been a little more character development, it was an easy story to follow. I absolutely loved the overall storyline of this game....until the end of the SE. It just ends on a cliff hanger. No wrap up. No "Happily Ever After", Not even a "The End".
You're getting ripped off with the SE. I absolutely highly recommend the CE. Other reviewers say you get the final chapter...the wrap up..."The End" with the CE. I'm just too angry to spend any extra money to see one last chapter.
Thanks for ripping out the last page of a great book!
I grabbed this one the day it came out. Next time, I'll restrain myself from snagging anything by 4 Friends Games until the reviews are posted.

I stumbled on this game and grabbed it with a freebie code. I probably wouldn't pay full price for it, but its definitely worth a discounted price. Its a great wind down game before bed. Relaxing, not overly challenging, and fairly quick.
It does have a lot of similarities to the board game. You can toggle on/off the fleet to keep track of what you've sunk. There is a grid in each corner to see what squares are open and the graphics are good. You can change your viewing position in a 360 degree circle.
There are a half dozen flags to choose from, and you set your ships on the grid before playing. The nice thing is that you can keep the configuration from the last game and launch a new game quickly. There is also an option to have the computer randomly set the ships for you.
This is a great game for teaching kids strategy....just like the board game. I find that it isn't too challenging and I win 98% of the time, which I like before settling in.
I don't remember if it has music. I usually turn game music off and listen to something else. The downside is that it doesn't save your scores/wins/losses. I recommend trying it out. It won't be everybody's cup of tea but you might be pleasantly surprised.
