This is not my first game, I found this game couple day ago , after a bunch of new releash game with solid retributation, I got bored and try some old game , not so expected, but this game, it has me right from beginning.
Start with the storyline, well, it was more suprise than I thought it would be: I woke up with no memory, just to realize myself between some hint about my past, but some are truth and some are lie. I found some people in nearby town, but they accused each other and I don't know who I should trust. A long the way, a mysterious shadow creature follow and kidnapped people one by one.....I must find the truth, and it was so unexpected. And at the bonus gameplay, I started the quest about the end of the one that cause all this tragedy..
About the graphic, it not exactly the "gorgeous type", but it quite suitable for the game and for me(I have a thing for rainy scene). Character are well-developed, of course the is no face-morphing in this game, voice are fine enough for me. Only thing make me confuse is that shadow demon costum, it look like he mix every pieces of cloth and accessory he could found.
Riddles and HOS is fine, I can sold couple of them, and skip some, It a fine mixture between challenge and rellax.
I highly recommend this game.

I like the character design.
Not much to write about scene and gameplay.
Biggest problem: witch, witch, witch allway be a witch. But the real mess is the bonus gameplay. I don't known how you guy deal with witch, but if i saw a woman is assaulted by a bunch of people who have no evidence and call her "witch", I would find a riffle and save her. This bonus gameplay make no sense.

So far, my student missing and I got to find her before to late, along the way, a mysterious hobo give me couple of clue, and a dark story reveal throught a serie of tiny puppet theature.....Sound like any other HOG game , but what really lovely in this game is how story turn in the bonus game play. I defeated the villain , but I wish I can save his soul before he turn into a heartless monster. And story go from here to a beautifull happy ending I truly hope for. This ending win my heart even this game didn't got as good twist as Fabled Legend.
About artwork, what else I can say? Not so gorgous , but enought for a fairy tale like scene, and still got it's own style.
Oh and some special extras as well.....

Beautiful graphic, I feel like I just walk in a fairy tales. Thank for the light HOS are much easier to play.
Character's quotes are really accurate and funny.
Really helpful little Gnome . And each story he told give me a clue, but not spoil the story line, and I love it.
Love the way you let me choose my ending. This is way better than Fabled Legend. In that game, some part of me felt angry with the Duke and support the Viceroy, but I must follow the line. I gave Princess the magic broom, and the ending is a true Happy ending I hope for. I don't know what would happened if I gave her the shackles, sorry.
But here the problem, just a tiny little thing, after all the gorgeous scene and drawn and statuette, when I saw those character in 3d model, I almost bust out laughing. I don't know which program you guy used to model, but if that was 3D max, you may want to use a plugin , that was Hairfarm.

Don't misunderstand me, I played many HOG with main character are female, but every times I play a game with awesome graphic and storyline , then the character is male or gender is not identified; if character are female,then the purpose of their 's quest are their 's child, or their love or their fiance. That was sweet but that all??? Can we got a little Lara Croft here?
Then finally I saw this game, not so gorgeous graphic but fit with the environment , and a very helpful hint button allow me to go directly to area need to investigate. Congratulation. Next time I expect to see an sequel with a little more bright atmosphere graphic (I don't expect it gonna be like Surface but I still wanna see it).

Well, needless to say, graphic and sound effect are good. But what really make me enjoy the game is the quotes from the tutorial and the comment of character. They are much funnier than just now click this, click that....
And the game's award is so surprise, I didn't know that the speed when playing HOG could give a medal. The only thing bother me is there are other medal, but you didn't let me know how to earn them.

After a while, I decide to finish this game again and I feel a little dissatisfy.
I think this revenge storyline is too familiar and this game didn't give me a rightful ending.Thing always happened this way: Something terrible happened in the past, no one there to helped the character, then years went by, he/she strong enough to revenge, then from middle of nowhere, a good guy with pure heart appear and destroy his/her plans. I was like: Come on, I feel the pain of the Dark piper, and some parts of me want to support him. Why can't we just try to convince him to just revenge the duke and his employer and spare the rest of European? Or at least try to convinced him after knock him out?
I remember a story of Sherlock Holmes, when he found out that doctor revenge for his fiancee's dead, he decide to spared that doctor. And that is the type of character I would like to play. This detective character make me feel like I was a nerd.
I still recommend this game because all the other factor are good. I love the way player interact with environment, but that make me feel so close to Dark piper's pain, but that probably just me.

I love the atmosphere of this game, I really feel I was the character .
And the way character interact with environment is great (especially when you touch a skeleton, I recommend you touch the skeleton in the elevator twice :D ).
Character comment when he/she touch somethings in the scene are funny and sometimes are quite accurate.
The only problem is the extra play scene. When I play a HOG, I was already seen a fuse and a register knob , but I got to play and go around somewhere else, but I guess that was the problem when you don't have much space.

Well, I just finish it again, but I still love this game, so I this one is deserve 4 star.
The story got few mistake ( in Mystery of Joyville, master said the villager didn't know he had a daughter) , but still enjoyable, even thought I like the previous version of Felicia more. And I think this story have a perfect ending, it should end now.
Put the plot mistake aside, this game it awesome with wonderful graphic and programing. I glad that this game let me replay the bonus chapter and change game mode while I was playing. And I really enjoy some small fun element like the bag's eye or the monkey.

I skip Haunted Hotel 1& 2, and I still can understand it.
