I really enjoyed this time management game - in fact I like it better than another very similar time management game series set in the wild west... In all the Lost Artifact games you have to complete things in the right order otherwise you find you have to start again - this is great as it actually requires you to use your brain! The music is really good also, really enjoyed listening to it while playing. Yes the game is timed but just because the timer runs out doesn't mean you have to start over, it just means you receive no stars. The challenge is in completing tasks in the right order and trying to get the max amount of stars by completing the levels as fast as possible. I can't comment on the CE extras as I've only played the demo so was focussing on the gameplay. Unsure why the overall ratings for this game are on the lower side - I'd happily buy this game and almost all others in this series.
I recommend this game!

Cool game so far - this is based only on the demo.
Firstly I enjoyed the music, little bit eerie, and good sound effects and voice overs also. Characters expressions/animation were good.
Lots of mini games so far, some of which are reasonably challenging (I played on hard mini-game difficulty). I even had to write something down for one of them (which I love, nothing worse than an overly simple mini-game).
HOP-wise so far there have been story-word-find style and silhouette find which are ok but not my favourite. Note for the devs - there's nothing wrong with a good old list find HOP, for me I like the challenge of finding as many items as I can as fast as I can - maybe there are some of these to come in the full version.
You can collect money as you go which you can later spend at the writer's desk in the extras menu, I've bought a couple of things e.g. retro radio, coffee, pocket watch. Doesn't look like you can interact with things after you've bought them though which would have been cool.
I do love that you can interact with random things in each scene (and the main menu) e.g. turning on lamps etc - makes the game even more fun.
Another appealing thing is that the game lets you try inventory items on objects that might realistically work but aren't actually the correct item e.g. you can try using a staple remover to remove a broken key in a lock even though pliers are the tool that actually work in the end. I like this as so many games don't even attempt to use an item that could quite well work.
Little extra things in the extras menu such as the book collection and ritual items add to the interest of the game also.
Domini are quite the frontrunners at the moment for me, lots of attention to detail and interesting storylines - and I like their recurring car mirror hanging Domini dog :) All in all, so far, a really well-done game.
I recommend this game!

Based on the demo: I really enjoyed this game, you get to play as 2 different characters (interchanging between the two) which is a nice point of difference and the story itself is interesting and easy to follow. There's lots to do in each scene - jewellery, coins and morphs (blood samples) to find - and nice detail in the graphics. You can buy things with the coins you collect. It's a nice colourful game (but not garish or overly purple like some games are). There are also a lot of things you can interact with in both the game and the menu, which I find really fun (eg click on a person and they wave at you, click on a pile of books and they fall off the shelf). There are lots of puzzles and some nice interactive HO scenes. So far this seems like a cool game worth buying

As with almost all new MCF games I bought this as soon as it was released, (almost at full price!) but sadly this game was disappointing, especially after being so excited that a new MCF game was coming out and then expecting extra awesome things when - SPOILER - you find out you get to return to Dire Grove (one of the absolute best HOPA games of all time). The game was way too easy. I like it when things aren't so obvious that you can do them half asleep, I like a challenge and this game wasn't much of one at all. A lot of the achievements were ones you get by simply progressing through the game. I ended up getting all the achievements without really trying. Also -- there were no Rube Goldberg puzzles! As another reviewer has already said, a bunch of individual puzzles that you complete one after the other (easy ones at that) do not constitute a Rube Goldberg puzzle. So sad. Additionally, this was yet another one of those games that, when you find a code written somewhere, it's written down on a piece of paper and when you get to the place in which you need to enter it it's either magically presented to you or you have to grab it from your inventory and put it on the cogs. Devs - could you please not make it so easy! I'd much rather have to find where I've written it in my journal or even venture back to the place I've found it in the first place (a bit of back and forth doesn't worry me if you get a satisfying result). I did like the collectibles - tarot cards - 2 in each location - and puzzle pieces in zoom areas. Also I liked meeting characters from previous games and the references to previous cases. The game seemed to be over quite quickly. Great that there was a bonus game but I thought it was a bit weird and it also felt more like a fantasy game, not MCF style. One thing that made it worth playing til the end though was a very brief spoiler for what will potentially be the next game in the series!! Very exciting.
I understand how much hard work must go into these games but all in all this was a bit disappointing. Notes for the devs:
- bring back Rube Goldberg puzzles
- bring back the creepy and the weird (a la Escape from Ravenhearst)
- bring back Easter Eggs!! I always watch the entire credits just in case..but nothing lately
- bring back achievements that are actually hard to get like the ones in 13th Skull
- bring back live actors like we had in Dire Grove, EFR and 13th Skull
Right, I'm off to play one of the aforementioned games. Even though I've played them over and over, they never get old :)
I recommend this game!

I've just played til the end of the trial and really enjoyed the game! Lots of different dishes to create in the Burger restaurant you start with and you eventually end up owning other restaurants (including a Sushi restaurant and a Bakery as far as I can see).
Restaurant/equipment/food upgrades are available along the way using coins you earn when passing levels and these are easy enough to earn - I prefer it this way vs some games which give you a minuscule amount of coins meaning you can never quite upgrade everything enough to get your sought after 3 stars.
You can play in either relaxed or timed mode and there are achievements you can earn and claim coins for.
Had a quick look at the extras and there's absolutely no CE bling..it consists of rules of the game, character profiles, strategy guide and FAQs so I've only given 4 stars based on this. A SE (if it were available) would be a better buy but I can't wait for the SE to come out so think it's still worth using a couple of coupons on now :)
I recommend this game!

What a cool game! Lots of twists and turns, keeps you guessing much like in a good murder mystery movie, as the story progresses you start to gather theories about who the bad guy might be but it can turn out to be someone completely different... I really liked all the different characters, lots of different (and very well done) accents, and funny moments from some of the patients. Pretty good facial expressions too. A feature in this game you don't see in others is that you have to click on evidence in certain scenes that the player (the detective) then uses to piece together what has happened in that scene (hence the "9 clues" in the game title. I like it when you click around in a scene or try and use random inventory items on things and a witty comment pops up - this game has a few of those which adds to the fun :) All in all a very good game, highly recommend it, stands out from other games despite it being a bit older now too.

I am a loyal MCF fan and was SO excited when I saw this new game had come out and even more so when I watched the trailer and saw that this game incorporates the old case files/games into the gameplay.
I also have never written a review but this game forced my hand :)
Have only played the demo so far but based on that I have just purchased the full game.
Based on the demo:
- love that the Master Detective (the player) has the use of a gadget - M.A.C. - something that hasn't been used in previous MCF games. Very cleverly done too.
- original storyline with a new villain while incorporating all the old MC files that everyone loves
- all scenes are filled with detail, lots to interact with, both purposeful and not (I personally love when you can interact with something for the sake of it - e.g. poke a donut and it appears to get eaten, poke a sunflower and it squirts out water - the more interactive the scenes the better, which is definitely the case in this game
- these devs have always been clever with the little details in their games and this game is no exception, everything has a reason and a purpose, nothing is added into the game for the sake of it
- Rube Goldberg puzzles!! There's no need to say much more here, these devs are the kings of the rube goldberg puzzle and as usual they are awesomely done here
- Great option of custom difficulty level as well as the usual 3 tiered preset difficulty levels - including the option to turn off sparkles which I personally dislike
- new atmospheric music, great puns along the way, love the clever play on words when you click on certain things
- looks like there's lots of achievements, some of which have 3 levels to them
- there are collectible stamps in each scene
- hidden object scenes so far are pretty cool including: classic listed item finds with interactions and story clue finds (where a story is told and each sentence refers to an item to be found)
- as always with MCF, the voiceovers in this game are great
Looking forward to playing the full game, I highly recommend trying this game especially if you like previous MCF games
I recommend this game!

The first thing about this game I noticed and loved were the excellent graphics - love that they were very realistic, full of detail and movement. Soundtrack fits well with the mysterious, slightly creepy feeling of the game and there is a good level of ambient noise and sound effects as you play. Really good combination of hidden object scenes as well as interesting and challenging puzzles and the opportunity to just explore the town. I only completed the free trial but was gutted when it ended - I may have to buy the game to keep playing and see what happens next in the story...
I recommend this game!
