I won't repeat the whole offerings of this game, since you can read them in other reviews. Let me say this games is FULL OF EXTRAS! It took me 7 hours to complete the game and all the bonus content. I was a bit confused as to how to access some of the bonus games. They do not make it easy. The same is true with some of the mini games and HO scenes. They are not your run of the mill games and they do involve some problem solving to figure them out. Frustrating at times and a few bad words later, the game was more than worth the money. It will be a while before I play it again, but I will play it again. I can't say I loved it but I did find it challenging and different than the norm. Plus with all the extras it makes it more than worth while.
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed this game. The story line was interesting, The voice overs were not annoying and we all know how bad those voice overs can be! There were enough mini stories/murders to keep the story moving along, although it was pretty easy to figure out who the murderer was.
The mini games were fun and challenging. I did have to consult the strategy guide a couple of times to get me started in the right direction on a couple of mini games.
I did not use the hint button, because the map was very helpful and there was a logic to the story and use of items in my inventory.
The HO scenes were not difficult, but you are suppose to find tea pots hidden throughout the game, some of which were hidden well. You also have a magnifying glass to search each scene for "evidence" There are 40 pieces of evidence and they do require some searching. The magnifying glass does glow a bit when you get close, but you still have to zero right in on it, to collect it. Once you find the evidence it will not let you keep looking, which is nice.
The bonus chapter lets you continue the search for tea pots and evidence, so don't freak if you haven't found everything by the end of the game. The bonus chapter is as fun as the game, not a cheap ploy to get you to buy a collectors edition. I will put this one on my list to play again!
I recommend this game!

I played the standard version from beginning to end. It is loaded with HO scenes and I did like the magnifying glass that could be used to find objects that were really well hidden. I would like to see that in more HO games!
Collecting the ingredients for spells was fun.
There is an interactive map that is pretty useless, because it only takes you to general locations, not specific rooms/areas. Plus you really do not have to go back to the general areas. Once you complete them and move on, you never go back, so I'm not really sure what the point of the map is.
The mini games, which are few, are really simple and gratuitous. If you don't even have to think about them, what's the point?
This game could have been so much better with some real mini games and a real ending.....the ending is awful.
This game is probably best for beginners.
I don't recommend this game.

I really enjoyed this Voodoo HO game. Collecting the items and creating the spells was fun. The HO scenes were sometimes tricky. The mini games could have been harder, but for a relaxing game that doesn't tax the brain it is perfect. I would have liked to have seen this in a collectors edition, but for the low cost of a standard game, it was well worth it.
I also would have liked to have seen Delphine LaLaurie get it a little worse, only because she is a real character taken from history. I will play this one again!
I recommend this game!

I used a free game token for the standard version of this game. It took about 2 hours to play, using the map to skip scenes. It was fun but very simple. The HO scenes and mini games were easy. Definitely a game for the beginner or to play when you don't want to strain your brain. I would have been disappointed if I had paid for the game, but not a bad game to use a free game token on.
I recommend this game!

Wish I would have gotten the CE of this one. The beginning graphics are so beautiful as is the rest of the game. There are just a few HO scenes and those are the type where you find parts of an object that will then be added to your inventory. No finding horseshoes. I'm pretty tired of the same old HO scenes, so this is a nice departure. The story line and dialogue is a bit wordy. The mini puzzles are a good balance of hard and easy. The standard version does have an interactive map that lets you jump locations, but it takes time to recharge like a hint button. I personally like that. I would be very interested in the CE of this game, mainly for the bonus content. I will play this one again.
I recommend this game!

NO monsters, evil kidnappers, vampires etc. Just a cute relaxing HO game. This game is really more of a child's level of play and there's no shooting, killing or racing involved :)
I just found it fun. This game is really just a HO game, but I found it entertaining. Steve's conversations at the dinner table, with his wife are amusing.( He'd never solve a crime without her.) It's equally nice that there is no awful voice over, just some jazzy music in the background. Childish voice overs could have really made the game annoying. I would recommend this only if you don't want a challenging game. Use a free game token and share it with your kids.
I recommend this game!

If aggravation factor was an option for rating, I would give it 5 stars. I found myself grumbling at the many HO scenes. Many objects were hidden behind other objects, others were just tiny pictures of the objects hidden in shadows and my biggest pet peeve....I'm asked to find a rope. I find it only to discover that it's not THAT rope they want me to find. Grrrrr I also strongly suggest that you do not pay for the CE. You do not get an interactive map with the CE, although it is not a game with tons of different scenes to cover. The Bonus content is not worth the extra $. The bonus game is VERY short and simple, just loaded with more HO scenes. There are no achievements to work for. No morphing object extras or anything like that. The story line is good and freeing each person from their fear is a fun concept. I just feel like it falls short in general and wish I had just got the standard version and saved some of those free game tokens.
I don't recommend this game.

This game is a refreshing change from the ghosts, evil, and fairy tale HOG games. I loved the story line and graphics. The game was just hard/easy enough to be fun and challenging at the same time. I did not order the collectors edition and aside from not getting a bonus game (which I'm sure I would have loved) I don't feel like I missed out on much. I did still get a map with this game, which I really needed as there is quite a bit of jumping around. I feel bad that I used a free game credit on this one, only because it was totally worth paying for. I may even get the collectors edition in the future, just to see what the bonus game has to offer. I highly recommend this game!

Yet again I trusted the reviews and was very disappointed. I should have played the trial version. The mini games required no skill at all. Most of them just involved trying to get your cursor in the right spot to make something happen. Seriously, scrubbing a metal pot with a cotton ball is not a mini game! I was frustrated by running around from place to place just to do tasks that had little or no real reason. Some of the tasks were so far fetched, I had to use the hint button to figure out what the heck I was suppose to do. I couldn't hint button my way through this game fast enough to just get it over with.
I don't recommend this game.
