Both of the Amulet games are just gorgeous, and the second one is even better than the first. The hidden object portions are pretty difficult and lovely to see. The extra games are fun. I have played both of these games several times just to see the artwork. The mahjong portions are reasonably challenging, especially with the optional time constraint.
The penguin games are my favorite griddler puzzles. I realize that sometimes the progressed puzzles involve situations where it is not possible to make a logical determination, but I enjoy writing down the positions I have filled in and then making a guess, and if it is a mistake I keep starting over with my list until I can get through it...sort of like recording chess moves. Anyway, they are worth it for the penguins and their adventures and the little games and art that accompany them.
I like these patchwork puzzles almost more than jigsaws. They start out easy but get pretty difficult. I like them because one can be finished in a reasonably short amount of time. The artwork is really clever.
These games, also including the related Cursed House and Spellrium games, are really fun. They are Match 3 but with many special extras and variations that make them stand by themselves.
The mini-games (especially the "find the differences" ones) are very challenging.
I love this game. I thought it would be a standard match-3, but it's not at all; it involves quite a bit of strategy and becomes more difficulty quickly.
When I got this the differences between it and every other match-three game were such that I didn't immediately understand all the details. It seemed ridiculously hard. But then (and this is a good reason to read the thoughts of others) I went through the comments about it and learned a couple of details I hadn't understood. Suddenly the game became really fun.
Now I am enjoying it a LOT and playing it daily. But do check out some of the other comments of people who like it, especially if you have trouble with it initially. The instructions are a little daunting -- at least they were for me. One particular detail (that the "hero" tile can actually be PART of the match) that I didn't realize was making it much too difficult in the beginning.
I really love this game. When I first got it I thought it was a standard Match-3. But it has 4 styles of matching and features some real difficulties. The ecological information is excellent and I learned a lot. I have started this game 3 times now (after finishing it) because it is so much fun.
First, I am in love with the incredibly cute characters -- so appealing! Then, I must say that this is quite a bit more challenging that the standard Match 3 games. There are different games with different aims, and some of them have taken me a while to get through!
The little tinkly short bit of music that you get when you win a level is also charming...I love winning simply in order to hear it. When you have lost a level cute Ricky appears with a sad look and a drop of sweat on his face --
I really recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

Mad Caps
The same crazy geniuses who brought you Chainz offer you the latest in maddeningly exciting puzzling and thirst-quenching fun.
When I first got this I thought it wasn't anything special: falling bottle caps must be matched in 3 or more to be eliminated. It seemed to me that the outcome depended mostly on the luck of the falling caps. But after playing a bit I discovered that it actually involves a fair amount of strategy. Various caps give you powers that are useful or obstacles. The strategy comes in knowing WHEN to deploy which power. If you use them when you get them, you will end up with no more moves (which ends the game). If you save them until the end, you lose the chance to arrange the caps more usefully. There are also memory games (try to remember colors and match caps that have flipped over) that I really enjoy. I thought I wouldn't enjoy this and instead I play it often. If you try it on Easy it is relaxing, but the harder modes get complicated fast.
I'm not that interested in brick-buster games, but this one is so beautiful and clever that I have been playing non-stop. The items to hit are many and varied and have wonderful powers. Even the sound effects are perfect. (I don't like music with my games, so I haven't tried it with the music.) When you lose a ball or an item, it drops into the lake below with the most beautiful "sploosh" that I almost want to miss on purpose. And there are fairies to unlock who give you a little help if you only have one block left, so that you don't spent 10 minutes trying to hit it. Give this a try even if you aren't interested in block-busters.
