I own all the games of Dark Parables and love the originality of these adapted fairy tales and crisp graphics of the scenes. This new sequel is no exception. IMHO, the storyline is the strongest feature of The Red Riding Hood Sisters. The following review is based on the demo:
There are 10 chapters and one bonus game. I was surprised that the bonus stuff was not locked. So you may as well get a glimpse of the wallpapers, concept art, and notes (marked as spoiler), etc., during the demo.
The map simply highlights where you are and where tasks remain. It can't teleport you to different locations.
There seem to be several collectables for different themes in the game. When you get a piece, the theme pops out, such as Red Riding Hood Sisters 1/4.
As usual in this series, you collect cursed items to increase the Hint recharge speed.
I like the mini games. They are beautifully crafted and not difficult to solve. More importantly, they are entertaining and well suit the fairy-tale atmosphere. In the first hour, I didn't consult the strategy guide. Not sure if the difficulty will increase later on.
There were quite a number of cut scenes and voiceovers, which kept me engaged throughout the demo. I like that the characters could move their mouths naturally when they spoke, which you don't see in a lot of other games. But I think the graphics of the cut scenes could better blend in the background of the game. This is just my small suggestion for Blue Tea's future installment.
BTW, today is my birthday and I'm so glad to see a great release from my fave series as my present. Thank you, Blue Tea and BFG! It does not disappoint!
I recommend this game!

I love animals and looked forward to learn more about them through the puzzles of this game. At the beginning, it said that you were going to become an expert of animals after completing the game. But I tried the demo for one hour and found that the graphics were not good, and the information about animals was just a short piece of information about a certain animal in a continent. The content really should be enriched. The mini games were fun but easy. They could have had more complications. The puzzles themselves were fun though. The shapes of the results could actually imitate animals to add more fun. I have to say the concept of the whole game is good, but the design is a bit too casual.
I hope the developer will put more thoughts into the next sequel. The game might be suitable for very young kids though.
I recommend this game!

I've never expected to get addicted to this game because it seemed all simple and mechanic. But after I bought it, I virtually played and played until my right hand became stiff, my eyes got blurred, and couldn't carry on any more. lol
As the top reviewer says, this game trains your eye-hand coordination. You cannot hesitate when you see a gap through with you can shoot the marble to get a high score and pass the level quickly.
The music is great; the voiceover has some exotic tone. They both fit the game perfectly. I've already started to love the frog, though it looked plain to me at first.
What I like in particular is that you get a tip about "life" after you exhaust all three lives and have to start from the beginning of a level. Here is a great one: "There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that is your own self." Whoever designed this certainly knows why people are playing games. :)
I recommend this game!

This is what I would call "having all the bells and whistles" for a match 3 game. Some other reviewers have mentioned that this is not a traditional match 3, but you have a certain tile on your cursor and you have to find a match for it. Each time you make a match, you swap the tile on your cursor for a new one. This requires strategies when you have to complete an objective on the board, and it has up to three different objectives at a time.
There is a storybook and it progresses along each level. I like the humor of it. It also sort of gives you motivation for your tasks. You could choose not to read it though.
The game has a variety of power-ups to go with the storyline. They are integrated with the pirate village you build on an island. The graphics are cute. The only defect is that the the pictures are of low resolution so the words in the story book and the background pictures of the boards seem faded. (I'm not sure if this only happens in a Mac version, which I used.) Otherwise, they go perfectly with the theme of the game.
There are maybe two or three kinds of background music, based on the one-hour trial. I like the way that the music changes when switching to a new board and that some tiles are animated.
Overall, it's a game close to perfection!
I recommend this game!

I was attracted by the graphics by looking at the video, but after I got into the game, I wanted to leave within 15 minutes and understood why people had opposite opinions about this game.
The storyline is really good. It has good potential. It could really shine if there were voiceovers.
Excellent graphics. It reminded me of the atmosphere of Haunted Domains. But the pace in this game is much slower, and it feels especially quiet accompanied with long descriptions. Too many words, too few sounds.
Not much variation or complication of the gameplay. Good match 3 games often give a beautiful background with each level, nice music that doesn't bore the player, and/or a special mission mixed with adventures, dialogues, and HO scenes. More often there are variations of the tiles, shapes of the board, challenges and trophies that keep you interested. The time allotted to each level shouldn't be too long. I noticed that in the third house, there were 30 gems to collect. That required longer than 6 minutes with nearly the same board as the previous two and the same thing going on. The music even made me sleepy, so I decided not to bore myself any longer.
I don't recommend this game.

I have tried some top-rated match 3 games but they did not provide the relaxing enjoyment like this one. It is humorous, and gives some ingenius and cute stuff to help solve the level. It is not too easy to be devoid of challenge, or too difficult that distresses you.
I like HOG too, but I want a game that does not require continuity so I can get back to my work anytime, and more importantly, makes me want to replay even if I have finished all the levels. And this is the one! Even the music lifts my spirit. I really love this game! I strongly recommend it to Match 3 players.
I recommend this game!
