I've played all the previous Golden Rails and enjoyed them, but for some reason this one was really boring to me. There was no challenge and only one level I had to re-play to get three stars. The mini-game, which is the same every time it comes up, was also mind-numbing and I skipped them after the first two. Unfortunately I don't think this is worth the CE price tag.
I love resource gathering TM games but this one is next level. I had to give up at level 4 because I just don't get it. I played the "tutorial," which wasn't helpful at all, tried to glean info from other reviews (I wish the forums were still around), and even at such low levels it's impossible to get three stars.
The Roads of Rome games are probably my favorite casual games. I've played all three New Generation releases multiple times, and they're still challenging enough that I have to re-do levels to get gold. I really hope more are released!
Cannot play on larger screens, half the game is cut off

Unfortunately the game is unplayable on a larger monitor. I've tried adjusting resolution but whether it's fullscreen or tiled the info bars cover important areas of the screen, and on several levels the sides are cut off completely and you can't access buildings or the river to clear debris. I've contacted customer service but as with everything else on the site, they no longer seem to be working.
I had fun playing this during my lunch breaks as a distraction from work; it was easy enough to do one or two levels and then move on with my day. I felt a little "meh" about all the US-Christian themes throughout (why are there American flags at the North Pole/Santa's headquarters? Why are there American flags in *every* scene?), but overall it's a fun game. Had one issue with the cursor settings not being kept, and the sound settings reset every time I played, but not huge issues. Not so sure it's worth the price, but it's definitely replayable.
All the work is done for you, disappointing after the first 6 games

I've loved the Moai series for years and like to replay them every so often. I finally got #7 after doing a binge-play through the previous six, and have been so disappointed. I'd read the reviews first but thought how bad could it be? Well. I'm finishing each level with at least 1/3 of the time bar left, if I'm not able to finish quickly it's because I'm waiting for the game to trigger something (pay this many guys first, but you have no control over when they appear, etc). About halfway through the levels they start throwing scavenger hunts at you where you have to pay this guy to get one thing, use the one thing to pay another guy, and on and on. There's also no building anymore, all the buildings are pre-made and leveled up, at most you have to just repair them. The fun has just been totally taken out of the game. I also get wonky sound and graphics when the "finished" graphic pops up at the end of the levels.

This game is super addictive and very re-playable, with one small issue. I've noticed a few other reviews mention that they'll go to click on an object to pick up, and it picks up the one next to the target. I'm having this same issue, as well as clicks just not registering at all, so you'll think you have a string of actions going when it reality one or two didn't even register and throws off your time; super frustrating when you're trying to get five stars.
Since there are no forums to try and figure this out in anymore, it's at least nice to see this isn't happening to just me. (I also swapped out mice, tried with and without a mousepad, nothing helps. This doesn't happen with any other BF game.)
