I bought this game to play along side my twelve yr old grandson...a reptile lover. The HOP's made him focus, and actually SEE what he was looking at...as opposed to just quickly scanning over. He did have questions such as "What is a 'rapier'?", etc. This was good, as he was asking questions and learning. The game puzzles were interesting to him, and he felt quite a sense of accomplishment at the end of every one. Some we did together. Some he said, "No Gramma. I will do this one on my own." Bravo!! *I nod proudly* I had him decide the ratings for himself. Overall, it would be a great game for beginners at HOPA's of all ages. Quality time...your's alone...or to share...is where it's at. Enjoy!
Yes, it starts rather slow and boring...you can tell those who did only the demo. It may not be "fun"..in the birthday party sense, but, what creepy game is? I bought it, played it, and it met my level of Challenge. If you like to take your time with a game (not race thru) this is a good one. HOP's are new, varied, and excellent. The Mini-Games, while not impossible, do take some thought. Pssst...I did skip two. I will leave those to the "Mini-Game Masters"...with my hat doffed to them. To Challenge yourself...this is an excellent game. Please take your time and enjoy!

If you have OCD about obtaining a complete series..then, okay. This will probably NOT be your favorite, tho. I won't ruin the game by giving a detailed play by play. As a consumer, we all deserve a certain level of surprise and drama. The Storyline did not work for me. Couldn't wrap it all up neatly in my head...with a great flow. But no matter. I am a "mini game junkie". They ran from easy to hard..but with the option of Casual to Hard...which...depending on which I chose...made it acceptable to me. I am not good at all types, but love to challenge myself. This would be a good Coupon Game. Choose the Hard options on the Mine Games..and enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Rarely am I excited enough to come back and write a review, but this is my first game of the "Haunted Legends" series...and I LOVED it.!! WELL worth the money!! It was new and exciting at EVERY turn! The visuals and sound were great. It was FUN.!! The story line flowed well. The HOS were varied and provoked thought. The mini-games, while intense, didn't take a "snowed in Siberian winter" to figure out. Yes!! Do give it a try!! You will be most pleased.!!

I TOTALLY loved the original Blubeard's Castle...so much so, that I bought this game without hesitation. But I was very disappointed. It was a game, yes, and something to do...but had NO TIE IN to the original. Not even HALF the interest. It is NOT a 'sequel' by ANY stretch of the imagination. And I highly doubt the makers of THIS game even played the original.!!
This game has it all, folks! The story was good, the HO's were VERY well done, and the mini-games were thought provoking - w/o being hair pulling! There are achievements to earn, and different elixers to make along the way! In today's tough economy, it was WELL worth the money! Will play it again!
I recommend this game!

This game is what it's ALL about folks! Audio/visual was great. The story line was "edge of your seat" interesting. The HO's were well done, with LOADS of them. The mini-games were challenging - w/o being hair-pulling. Must also find 100 gold leafs. And the ending! NEVER saw that coming! Want a SEQUEL!!

This game is awesome! The hidden object scenes are beautiful, and the mini-games were original and unique, with no "hair pulling" required (not much, any way). There were LOTS of surprises! Loved it!
