I'm nearing the end of this SE version. I have a funny suspicion, though, that the killer may not be who we were lead to believe but then again, I could be wrong. We shall see!
The bad: the graphics were more 2D than 3D (both were stated in the credits, but to me, 2D was more like it!) The artwork seemed more 20th century than 21st century.
Also, trying to manipulate my mouse to accomplish some of the tasks was a bit quirky. The characters seemed to float like puppets, too.
And I didn't like the profanity and/or swearing that was used a couple of times in the script. The voiceovers were okay not the greatest.
The music was good except for a couple of scenes whereby the sound effects were so annoying, I had to mute the audio.
The good: the innovative tasks, hidden object scenes, mini-games were very cleverly done. What I really liked was the evidence that you rounded up. You had to put them in the order of circumstantial evidence, if you will. The only problem with a few of these is I couldn't tell from the artwork what the heck some of them were or who they were. It wasn't difficult actually, but there again lies the fact that the artwork was average--cartoonish even. Needless to say, having the evidence feature in the hidden object scenes was a great idea by these More Games devs! They put a lot of work into this game for sure.
There certainly was no relaxation for this detective, and as much as I love winter wonderland scenes, no way would I have driven in a squall on my vacation. But it's only a game after all!
You will get a lot of bang for the buck in this game. I definitely recommend it. Try it out first.
I recommend this game!

Everything about this game, in my opinion, was mediocre. It did have it's moments though. I just completed the entire CE version. The game-flow was pretty good, I must admit. Clever puzzles and mini-games. The graphics were lacking. The voiceovers were good.
I'm so weary of witches and ghosts, though. No offense, devs. The Match 3 game was great to play when I got bored with the HOPS, which weren't bad but so obvious. This game just didn't do it for me. It's as simple as that.
My shortest review ever and my rating is 3-stars. I recommend it because we each have our own tastes and this game could very well be the right 'brew' for you.

Dark Romance is the correct terminology of this game! Mostly dark at this point as I'm almost finished with the Main Game of this remarkable CE version.
There are loads of collectibles to find and depending on the level you've chosen it's even more difficult to find them. I love the variety of tasks, mini-games, HOPS. The sound effects are realistic and the music is great. Richard is quite handsome and Rachel is lovely, and the wives are beautiful. I don't like Ethan's monster look, which, by the way, is deceiving.
The graphics are stunning in my opinion. The storyline is exceptional. The voiceovers are wonderful except for one minor point--when Rachel needs to come to Richard's aid, he addresses her in a matter-of-fact tone, when he should have sounded more desperate. Nonetheless, the actors are very good.
My heart goes out to the so-called monsters but the real monster is Bluebeard. I also feel for the wives. Yea, this story has piqued my interest and has kept me interested throughout the game.
I love the flow and strategy of this game, and for the better part the common sense, logical tasks. There were a few items I wouldn't have used to complete a task, but what did I expect? It's a game after all! Domini Games devs, you've done a great job! You put a lot of work into this game and into the story. Bravo!
I highly recommend it. Can't wait to finish the main and see how the Bonus Game pans out.
I recommend this game!

I'm halfway through this SE version and, undoubtedly, I am somewhat enjoying the tasks and the puzzles and the HOS. No hand holding here; but why would I want to complete a whole set of tasks, scene by scene, and return to whence I came over and over again. It's ludicrous!
I saved Princess once only to be thwarted again by the bad guy! It's like I have to start all over again! Selena, her mother, who is a witch, can't even save her, probably because she's tired of going back n' forth as I am. I did enjoy bringing the statues to life. That was very cool!
The artwork is very lovely but the objects are rather small. I mean no disrespect to the devs, but the HOS look like junk piles, which detracts from the nice artwork, in my opinion.
The game is rather cute, though, and not the worst game I've ever played. Granted, you do have a lot to do but again you will have to go back n' forth which is challenging in and of itself, but in this case, annoying to me. I'd rather move on and get on with it!
I love the concept, ingenuity of the tasks, the attention to detail, but the gameplay is disorganized. The map is good but I don't want to have to go back to the house and through the woods and over the water one more time.
I'm giving this game a 3.50 star rating. Try out the demo and decide for yourselves.
I recommend this game!

Mad Head Games are at the top of my list! These developers are true thinkers in every sense. They've taken heed to the reviewers' comments. This is my fourth Nevertales game and my favorite thus far. I'm in the middle of playing the Main Game of this CE version.
Everything about this game is top notch--the well-scripted dialogues, excellent voiceovers; beautiful graphics and fantastic music. Great map, hint button and much more.
You must save your boyfriend, Ian before it's too late. His eyes have turned yellow and his spirit has gone from his body. There are doorways that require you to choose a very innovative method of passing through them. The tasks are so intelligently thought-out, that it's hard for me stop playing. Now that's what I call a game!
The strategy, the logic, the flow are the best I've encountered in a long time. Sure, I've given five-stars before for a particular genre but this game is by far a "head" above the rest--that is, a Mad Head above the rest! Innovative, well-organized and thought-provoking. I enjoy the mini-games and hidden object scenes--though some are not difficult they are fun to accomplish and different. I love my lil' mechanical, flying helper--my Edward Scissorhands of the garden, if you will.
I like being in command of the storyline. What I also like about this game is when you need to collect two or more items to complete an object, for instance, like find the parts of a bird, you can still use one of the parts which eliminates clutter in your inventory, rather than wait for all three to use it. These devs thought of everything and should win an award for this wonderful production. They've got my vote!
I highly recommend this game!

This is my fifth Sable Maze game and I must commend Daily Magic devs for their cleverness of the mini-games and variety of hidden objects. The music, the storyline, the graphics are very good. I just completed the Main and Bonus games.
The voiceovers were very good but when Moriarity used the term "Wow" in his dialogue I wondered if indeed that word existed in that era. But after a little research on my part, I found that "Wow" was first used in 1513. So I stand corrected and satisfied.
There were wonderful moments in this game but it was a bit quirky at times. I'm giving this a low 4-star rating due to the quirkiness plus the fact that some of the inventory items remained there for such a long time that I started to get a little concerned. The game-play was good and the flow varied.
Once you're through with one completed scene, it is then blocked. I know that can add to the challenge. I customize my games by turning off the glints and sparkles. I don't need that extra help but there were times some of the tasks did not make sense. You do have the guide if need be. A very good map. No map though in the Bonus Game. Good hint button. I collected over 70 collectibles and not all the puzzle pieces. Dang!
But most of the tasks were awesome though and again I commend the devs for their attention to detail. Some of the tasks were elementary at best. I liked the fact that we had the option to play a match game instead of the HOPS.
The Bonus Game was rather short and also quirky, but offers yet another adventure I'm sure. I wish that I would have been able to go back and find the rest of the puzzle pieces. However, the game was interesting enough to hold my attention. Good job, devs!
I recommend this game!

Hands down this game is about the best I've played all year! Shaman Games, a high five to you! Man, is this game good or what! I love EVERYTHING about this game. Puts me in mind of the Clockwork series I've played that I still have actually and will go back to it one of these days. But this game is even more sophisticated.
The strategy is phenomenal and this is only a standard edition I'm playing. I expected this to be kind of elementary and silly--not at all. The game-play, the flow, the storyline, the ingenuity of this game well deserves a 5-star rating.
Love the unusual mini-games and very interactive hidden object scenes. They're not difficult but very clever and tedious. The music is wonderful; the storyline, thus far, is intriguing. The developers have cleverly covered just about every aspect in this awesome game. I'm only half-way through it and actually prefer giving my reviews upon a completed game but I couldn't wait!
The graphics are outstanding! In my opinion, Kingdom of Aurelia: Mystery of the Poisoned Dagger is one of the most intelligent games I've played thus far. Great job, devs! You put a lot of thought in the reading materials and though I haven't found a typo yet, the script reads well. I often do take the time in reading the text because it often turns out to be more helpful than not. This is no skimpy production, folks. The devs have thought of everything! I'm going to look in to more games from this developer.
The scoop is that dangerous artifacts have been stolen from the Royal Treasury, one of which is the Transformation Amulet and the other is the Cursed Dagger. There is a ritual involved with the Cursed Dagger and this so-called dagger allows the owner to take complete control over its victims.
The Amulet of Transformation allows its owner to change his/her shape.
There are smugglers involved and the leader is Captain Hermengilda. Some name, huh? As of yet, there has been no evidence of their involvement in this theft. We shall see, though!
I could go on and on, but I won't. I highly recommend this game or at least try out the demo. Very though-provoking and fun game.

I don't even have to finish this CE version to report that I love everything about this game! The variety of the interactive hidden object scenes, the game-flow, the special effects, the artistry is magnificent, the music is grand. Wow! what a game!
It may sound like a cop-out but I'll leave the storyline and all this CE has to offer. But I like concentrating on the things I often mention, which is more important to me.
The graphics are so crisp and it's a pleasure looking for objects within each beautiful scene. The voiceovers are excellent and I'll tell you some of those characters are quite handsome, to say the least! Loving this game! I look forward to going back in and playing it each time!
The strategy of the game is, at best, top notch. There is one task where you have to find a large lens but to shut off the magic or electricity, you must obtain a handle. I had the handle already in my inventory but I had to adjust it somewhat to make it fit. That's what I'm talking about here--everything seemed to flow the way I like it--the tasks have rhymes to its reasons and for me that's a necessary component for a successful game. I wish more developers would catch on!
Story is intelligently written; great map, helping objects, you name it, and you've got the guide if need be. I always customize my games and turn off sparkles and what not. So the more difficult the level, obviously, the harder the game.
One of the mini-games requires us to match symbols--not difficult to do--but very challenging to accomplish. I'm a little cross-eyed at the moment, but I'll be getting back to that shortly. LOL!
For me, this game by Mad Head Games is a 5-star. These developers know what they're doing and they are to be commended for their excellence. These developers have paid attention to the reviews and expounded on them.
Without question, this is one of the best games I've played in a while! I highly recommend it! Mad Headers, you're awesome!!!

I'm not well-versed on the accuracy of the Native American culture or tribes or even on the authenticity of the artifacts, but there are some quirks in the game that EIPIX has not yet perfected. EIPIX goes all out on their productions--for their introductions, special effects, artistry and music. This game was different and I was drawn to it. I just completed the SE version which actually played like a CE. The game was nice and long. The game-flow was good.
They are to be commended for all the work they put into this game. As for strategy of game-play they are average at best.
The voiceovers were good but definitely did not fit the characters at all. The music was good. The storyline was 'meh'! Half and half!
We live in a world now where we must be politically correct and every thing one does or says is scrutinized. I don't want to blast these developers for this because it is, after all, a game. Some developers can go over the top and miss the point, and I don't feel EIPIX has. They're great developers with a great sense of humor.
As innovative and sophisticated as these developers are when it comes to the mechanism of their games--mouse click to object--they are average. I had to click a couple of times to get something done. They need to work on that aspect. Some of the objects were hard to determine what they were, too.
Lots of shapeshifting; Shamanism, whatever you want to call it. I'm not into these sort of things, but you certainly get your money's worth on this game and for a SE, you can't wrong.
This game was different as I mentioned and you have a good map, loads of things to do--complete the amulet, which is more useful than I could have imagined. EIPIX you did good there. Good hint button if needed. Mini-games were fun to do. Not too challenging but tedious. Fun interactive hidden object scenes. You have a plethora of things to accomplish in this game.
I'm rating this a total of 4.25 stars. And I do recommend this game. You will get your money's worth if you stick it out.
I recommend this game!

I commend the developers on this well thought-out game. Doesn't name who the developers are just yet--that is, I haven't seen the credits yet, but bravo to you, devs, whoever you are!
I have to say out of all the fantasy games I've played, this is one of my favorites for its ingenuity and strategy and game-play on the whole.
Your sister, Margaret, is in peril again--no surprise--and was almost killed in an explosion at Stonehenge; as a result, two portals are opened--ice and fire, and you have been asked to team up with one of the MI6 agents, David, and find a way to enter these worlds and help solve the problem. It's a big job but you can do it!
I'm in the middle of the main game of this CE version I purchased. I love the flow, the game-plan, the tasks, the interactive HOPS are great. Some of the mini-games are elementary--nothing to write home about but they're okay.
The introduction is wonderful and exciting. The artwork is beautiful--love all the colors and the crispness of the graphics. The music is great.
The voiceovers are great except there is one female character who looks to be in her 30's but has a voiceover of a much older woman. The dialogue-script is very good but too long, and the actors, at least the ones I've come across thus far, speak much to slow. But don't get me wrong the acting is great.
You have statuettes to find, morphing objects, artifacts and there's like 83 marsh lights to collect. You will have these objects to collect in each scene but the menu by your inventory bar will flash bright if there are morphing objects to collect, statuettes and artifacts as well. I like that feature because most of the time I forget to collect these things when I'm engrossed in a game. And that you will be if you decide to play the demo or purchase the game. I'm loving the variety. I'm rating this game a low-5 star.
A thrilling, fantasy game that I'm sure will please most gamers. I'm enjoying it and I hope you will, too. Try out the demo. I highly recommend this game. This was well-worth my purchase. Loads of exciting things to do.
I recommend this game!
