I wasn't quite sure I was going to like this game, but I have so many games from this series, I just had to try it. Really glad I did. I don't normally care for this genre of games, but with this crazy, wonderful cat, what isn't there to like.
The colors are wild in this one. This developer has always had a flash when it comes to color and this was no exception. Graphics were clear and obviously not dark. Music was pretty good and voice overs were well done. The effects went along with the action in the scene.
One thing about this developer I really have never care for are their mini games. Somebody must stay up weeks on end trying to find a way to frustrate me with these blasted things. I don't know if there were an over abundance of them this time or they were so difficult it seemed like there were a bunch. Thank goodness for the custom settings and I waited no time, once I decided I wasn't going to be able to solve them, I could skip right along to something else. I really liked the hidden object games. They were so varied. I don't think I have played a game with such variations. From morphing to lists and everything in-between it kept me wondering what was next. Now, if they would just allow the player to play an alternative to mini games like they do hidden objects, I would be a happy camper.
As I said, I'm not a big fan of this genre, but that being said, the story had me from the very beginning to the end. Others will go into depth about the story so I'll leave that to them. I'll just say it was a well written story that kept my attention all the way through.
Give the demo a shot. I think you'll find you will like this as much as I, especially if you love those dastardly mini games. Have fun!
I recommend this game!

I found this game to be acceptable and following the game series. While it was of the same story, happenings, and eerie suspense, it did lack somewhat from the previous games. That being said, it was a nice way to spend a rainy Florida afternoon.
Again, the developers, one of my favorites, produced a cartoon type graphic which is becoming the norm apparently between all the developers these days. There isn't a lot of realism in the graphics, but they are rather colorful and not dreary. Sound, including music, effects and voice overs were well done.
I found the level of challenge to be very good. I completed most all the mini games, except the ones that took forever to complete or just weren't interesting. The only complaint I have for the hidden object games were those blessed little windows that opened up. The items were so small I couldn't see them even when I used the hint. I don't mind searching for items, but I want a chance at finding them.
Others have gone into the story so I'll not do that here. This is a pretty good story. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It was easy to follow and flowed well.
Give the demo a try, but understand the demo is rather short as is the game itself, but I think you will probably enjoy this one especially if you have a free game you're just burning to use.
I recommend this game!

I found this game to be more enjoyable that the previous games, in that it held my attention all the way through.
The graphics were good, but I don't understand the change in the type of graphics, not only Eipix, but most all of the developers have been using lately. They seem to be out of a graphic novel. They are clear and well defined, but there is just something off-putting about them. The sound was very well done. I noticed someone mentioning the Sheriff's voice, which I'm assuming is the accent, but where I live, it was spot on... :-). I did enjoy the music. I normally don't pay a lot of attention to music, but this game had a great soundtrack. Of course the effects went along with the action in the scene.
Loved the hidden object scenes. They were different than usual and very clear. That is not to say they weren't challenging. They were. My least favorite are the two pictures you have to put together and decide what you need to be looking for and there did seem to be a lot of them. As much as I enjoyed the hidden objects, I hated the mini games as much. They were well beyond my patience level and so convoluted I couldn't figure out what to do. I'm so thankful for that custom setting. Fifteen seconds and I was on my way.
The story was very well written. It had me from beginning to end. It wasn't hard to follow and flowed beautifully. Normally I will get lost in stories along the way, but not with this one. I played for two days and picked up the story without any interruption whatsoever in following it.
Other than the graphics and those miserable mini games, I really liked this game and hope you do also. Try the demo and see if it isn't to your liking as well.
I recommend this game!

I found this game to be fun in most aspects. It continues in the same way most all in this series so if you liked the previous games you probably will like this one, with a few exceptions.
Graphics were well done. Colors weren't dreary and dark, but far from realistic. Music was pretty good and the voice overs were very well done. I was shocked that the voice for SG wasn't the one used in all the other games. It was okay, but I had gotten use to the other one. The effects went along with the action in the scene.
Hidden objects were varied and kept my interest. The items were large and clear enough that it made it easy on the eyes. The bad in all this game were the mini games. I'm not much in love with mini games to begin with, but these were so boring. I wish now I had kept track of the number of times they were about the same. Putting pictures together really go bad. I usually at least try to solve the puzzles, but these were repeated enough I just waited my five seconds and click! Don't know what they were thinking having so many minis the same. With that said, the hidden objects made up for them.
The story was predictable. Others will go into depth about the story so I'll not do that here. I was involved in the story from beginning to end. It flowed very well and I wasn't lost not one time.
While I haven't had a favorite game in a long time, this one won't make that list either, but it was we worth the bargain price. Give the demo a try and see if you won't like it also.
I recommend this game!

I have to say, I was really surprised how much I liked this game. I played the demo and really wasn't impressed, but after reading the reviews, I thought there has to be more to this game that I'm missing. There sure was! It turned out to be fun and addicting.
I think the thing about this game that started me off on the wrong foot was the graphics. I wasn't impressed very much with the reality of the drawing, but after a while that took a backseat to the story and games within. The music was a tad bit boring, but the voice overs were very well done. Of course, the effects went along with the action in the scene.
The challenge varied as did the types of games. Hidden objects ran the gambit from lists to silhouettes, to finding 12 keys (not my favorite) to morphing objects and everything in-between. I really liked the mini games for a change. I played most of them. So either my patience is growing with age (which I doubt) or they were rather on the easy side. I played in the custom mode so if I didn't like the game it was quickly skipped.
I have one regret and that is I wish I had been able to play the game through in one sitting. I played for three days and each time I went back, I had to think what had happened, where I was, what I needed to do and that took away some of the fun. The story was a bit spotty at times, but I'll blame that on not playing the game all at one time. Others have explained the story so I'll not take time to do that here. Just let me say it had me pretty much from the beginning all the way through.
Play the demo and see if this isn't a game you might like to add to your collection.

I found this game most interesting and funny... didn't say fun, but funny. Whoever wrote the script for this game deserves some kind of reward.. a Plaque, Trophy or certificate suitable for framing. I can't remember a time when I laughed out loud at dialog in a game. To me it was hilarious!
Graphics were well done and the sound was really good, especially the voice overs. The music was the same as in the previous games in this series and wasn't intrusive.
I really liked the hidden object games. They were big and the objects were clear and usually easy to find. There were just a couple that were small, but the majority were well to my liking. The mini games were nothing new and I completed many of them. Some were easy, but very time consuming so I would start them and then skip. Using the custom setting I had the hint and skip at the 5 second setting. My patience level just doesn't allow for convoluted mini games. The only problem I had with the game was it constantly required 3 flowers or 4 horses and so on. At one point I had 5 different locks in my inventory missing one or two of the items. That did get kind of boring. Other than that, I enjoyed it.
I've never read Mr. Poe's story so I have no idea if the game follows it or not. I had to read a couple of his stories in high school and that was enough for me. This story caught me from the beginning and held my interest all the way through. I figured it out at the beginning, but I did enjoy Dupin figuring it out. Others went into the story line for you, so I'll just say I liked it.
Give the demo a shot and see if you like it. The demo is long enough you will get a feel for the game. Just open your minds and sit back and get ready for a good laugh. We can't take ourselves to seriously in this game and the laughs made the purchase worthwhile.

I really enjoyed playing this one, with a couple caveats which will be explained below.
The graphics were well done. However, this is one of the caveats. There was a lot of long, and I mean long black screens between scenes. At first I blamed it on my computer, but after a couple of these I realized it was the game. It was like the game was reloading each scene. I've played games like that, but never from Eipix. Their games seem to run smoothly between scenes and there aren't black screens unless it has something to do with the story. Colors were bright and not dreary. Voice overs were well done and the music was not intrusive.
I hope you're sitting down, because I'm going to tell you something that may shock you. I actually enjoyed the mini games! Yes, this from the man who hates them. I always try to work them out, but I was more successful in this game than I ever have been. There were a couple I couldn't figure out or were too time consuming, but the vast majority were right up my alley. The hidden objects were clear with just a few of them with items so small I couldn't find them or see them even after using the hint. The map is a necessity in this game. There is a ton of back and forth and without it I don't think I could have finished the game.
Now for my 2nd caveat. The story seemed to start in the middle of another one. This is a series and since I haven't play any of the others, I don't know if the tattoos were introduced previously, but it took me a while to understand what was going on. Once I did, the story flowed smoothly and was really enjoyable. Others will go into depth about the story line, so I'll not bore you with it.
Play the demo. It will give you a good idea about the game and I think you will enjoy it. Have fun!!
I recommend this game!

This is my 2nd most favorite series available on Big Fish. Saying that, I must say I was a little disappointed in this one. With awesome graphics, great hidden object scenes, you would think I would be giving this ***** , but alas, there is more to a successful game than graphics and scenes.
As mentioned the graphics were super. I haven't played a game with this caliber of graphic in a long time. They were crisp and clear and the colors were realistic. I liked the sound, especially the voice overs. They were well done and I enjoyed the music. Effects, of course, went along with the action in the scene. A well put together picture and sound effort.
I loved the hidden object scenes. I think there was only one or two of those little pop-up windows with small things to find. The rest were full screen and clear. Really good! The mini games were ... well, mini games. I tried all of them, but with varying degrees of success. Love that fast skip button.
Now for the downside. I thought I had missed something in the beginning of the story, and probably did, but I was lost from the start. The story just never came together for me. I pretty much depended on the map and hint button to figure out what to do and many times, I still couldn't figure out how it fit into the story. I will play this again in a few weeks and see what I could have missed that could have caused so much disorientation.
This is a good game and I highly recommend you play the demo. It is quite long and will give you a good idea of what to expect in the game.
I recommend this game!

This is an okay game, but nothing to write home about. I have several in this series, but this one is so much different from the previous, it is hard to recognize. My first turn off was the genre, but I expected that when I started to play.
I was most disappointed in the graphics. They were straight out of the Sunday comics. Not exactly what I've grown to expect from Elephant Games. The colors are bright and not dark and dreary. Sound is good and voice overs are well done. I really didn't pay any attention to the music so it must not have been intrusive.
I did like the hidden object games in that they were varied and to my liking. Mini games... well they are mini games and not my favorite activity. I used the custom mode and when 1 seconds was up so was my patience... :-)
So far as this genre, the story was pretty good. I'm sure others will go into depth about the story so I'll leave that to them.
Although this is not a buy for me, you play the demo and see if you don't like it better than I. I'm holding off for games with genres I like. Nothing better than an old fashion murder mystery, but they are few and far between.
I recommend this game!

The title of this review says it all. I bought it, but after playing, I wonder why I did. This is not a very good game. I played the demo and should have realized there was something off about it. Not only was the demo short, but the game was not much better. This has been presented as a flash from the past. I've been playing these games for several years and I do not recall a game of this low of caliber at all.
Graphics were good, although the action in them were ... staggered at best. Colors were realistic and not dark. The sound, what there was of it, was well done. Voice overs were few even though there were plenty of opportunities to have some.
I did like the level of challenge. The hidden objects were varied enough to keep my interest and the mini games were well within my patience level and abilities. There is a map to help navigation, however there is a flaw in it. In the game, I checked where I should go next and I clicked on the shaman's cabin and the map kept taking me to the lake. I examined the map more closely and found that, sure enough there was another place on the map for the cabin. Not a horrible problem, but just an example of the quality of this game. Somebody didn't do their job.
I did like the story. It had me pretty much from the beginning. There are no ghosts, goblins or things that go bump in the night. This is the biggest plus for this game. The closest was the encounter with the shaman and he wasn't too bad. Others will tell you the story, but I did enjoy it.
As always, play he demo, what there is of it and understand the game isn't going to get much better. Perhaps you will enjoy this much more than I.
