Since developers of Match 3 games seem to ignore Mac users (I know since I check new PC games just to have a reason to point that out) - I buy my favorite genre when I can. Dislike Time Management games. Did someone say boring? New games for Mac have been TM games day after day :( This story was interesting enough, new tiles and layouts plus HO scenes that I enjoyed. Other Match 3 games that are series are quite similar to each other so why this one is critiqued so severely...don't quite get it. Plus it plays smoothly on my Mac. Had problems with other guys. I won't elaborate since technical issues are not encouraged to discuss. Just saying. Bought this one, have been playing and enjoying tonight :)
As always, I at least try each new released Match 3 game. This one was an instant BUY since I bought and enjoyed the previous one. Many options: Relaxed, Timed or even Expert choice. Gotta like that :) I found that the Power Ups are different and do different things than the obvious. Try it and have fun.
First, this is a new game from Green Sauce developer which I like a lot and buy their games. Second, it's the farm building game! Love that with grandpa included and cute animals. Third it's a Match 3 game which I am very fond of. There is a relaxed option with Timed and Limited Move option for the challenge seeking gamers. There is nothing to complain about. It was an instant buy for me.
This is based on the demo but I bought other games from this developer like The Chronicles of Joseph of Egypt, Chronicles of King Arthur and earlier Crime Stories: Days of Vengeance. Most of the time I agree with "penmom" reviews 100% but I think she was a bit harsh regarding this one. The story is better, the tiles bright and distinctive on darker background for clarity. Earlier games had simple, small geometric shaped tiles and background that did not set the tiles out to see clearly. I think the improvement is definitely there from one game to the next. It's hard to come up with different Match 3 game to really stand out so I think the credit should be given here for beautiful graphics, fun storyline and my favorite - bouncing tiles after they hit bottom. As I mentioned before in my reviews, not all Match 3 games are made for Mac or other fun games like Tales of Lagoona 3 (hint, hint) so I do appreciate the ones that are cool and very pleasing to my eye :) Of course there is always room for improvement...maybe another option of hidden object bonus games integrated within after certain level? Or extra building to build as a puzzle? Probably my other Big Fish friends will have ideas for this dev but for now any good Match 3 game is a buy for me.
I buy all the games from Playcademy. My Big Fish friends who like their games will be familiar with the concept of exporing the cave since it's a mini game in Silver Tale and Match Ventures. The levels are massive with big area to explore and collect gems, resources and talismans to purchase upgrades to mining town and extra help in our journey to deeper levels (like upgrades to lantern etc.) There is amusing and funny Grandpa. Familiar feel of the structure of the game, relaxing music and quality graphics - all great fun for me. The only problem is the collection of talismans. Limited moves 4 sections per level to get a talisman and they are needed to move to the next level. I am so bad at it...after many tries and fails I almost gave up but of course couldn't bring myself to do so. Had to find help and did on YouTube. There is a German gamer who posted all the 4 mini games with limited moves per level. I study them and use without a problem as go along. (Thank you!)
Being rather grumpy by nature (since I was a kid) I have been complaining about not being able to play good Match 3 games on the Mac. Quite often developers offer the games for the PC and never follow up with Mac version. I do love the games by Playcademy ( I have been waiting for Tales of the Lagoona 3, come on guys...) and buy every single one that is available for Mac. This one is no exception, love the concept of multiple boards, design of the tiles, excellent voice artists, funny comments and quality soundtrack. I have to give credit to the developers for thinking out of the box and creating high quality games. Similar to MatchVentures original? Yes, but I played that version more that once and something close to the first one is welcomed just fine. A lot of sequels are similar but great game is a great game and I will not be grumpy about it. Doesn't happen that often :)
I love the idea of building and redecorating. Being a fan of older Playrix games like Gardenscapes and Barn Yarn, I was excited to try the different developer taken this concept for a spin. Not what I expected, definitely not better than the older games but worse. The picture of the scene was blurry, the customers on the side much clearer. As penmom mentioned the objects were silly at times and yes - used toothbrush and toilet paper from the floor are not a stellar choice for items... I hope that the developer will improve on this game and bring us something with clear scene shots and more appropriate and fun items to find. Disappointed but hopeful for better quality next time.
Love Match 3 games. I know - some call them boring and not challenging enough but for me there is a calming, hypnotic quality about them that I enjoy. There is not as many Match 3 games for Mac as there are for PC (hint for developers), this one will challenge most of the casual players, it's quick, at times frustrating but always fun. Bought all the Montezuma games and of course this one too.
I do like the look of the games, the graphics are cute and the story has funny side to it. Like the other reviewer, I hate being stuck. I would have bought at least couple more if the relaxed version was an option.
