When I first began playing, I found the very small objects annoying because they weren't clear enough to see what they were. However, by the time the trial ended, I was hooked and ended up buying both season one and two. The characters were very engaging, the mini games were pretty interesting, and you do learn some things. I hope there will be a season 3, very soon. It would be a shame to end it here. It is such a nice change from all of the other dark, occultic games.
Park Ranger is the best HOG out there , IMHO. I have them all. It is relaxing , the graphics are great and I really look forward to new releases every year. I love that it isn't a dark , eerie , occult type of HOG. Although they are a bit repetitive , I don't care. Love the scenes , looking for the animals (and trash to throw away). I never feel stressed out after playing them. Great family game for all ages. Looking forward to Park Ranger 9.

I bought this game years ago and have played it several times. I have only made it all the way through one time. The best way to get through it , is to save as many power ups you can until the last level - good luck with that. Even with many collected lives and power ups , it's very , very difficult. The history was fair , the music was repetitive but relaxing , graphics are mediocre. If you're looking for a nice relaxing game - this isn't for you.
Played the free hour and figured what the heck - it's 60% off , so I bought it. Waste of money. Finished finding all the spices and was supposed to pick up rubber stamp in next scene. I clicked and clicked and clicked. Game would not allow me to pick up stamp and could not progress any further. Tried starting over - same result. Will not be buying any more from this game designer.
I truly did enjoy this game ( I have played it twice already ). Although I never read the book , the game gives you a real feel for the characters involved and the mini games were very fun and interesting without being monotonous. I loved that the game stayed within the era of the book ( set in1920's - 30's) and the objects were also from that time period. I'm certain I will play it again in a few months. Well worth the price.
The game overall is really a nice change from run of the mill HOG's. I'm presuming the designers are probably from England and some of the object names are different from what they would be called here in America , so that is a interesting challenge. Did occasionally run into places where there was more than one of the object you are looking for which is frustrating. The mini games being part of the main game was a cool twist and I do like the basic idea of the game itself. The graphics were very good and the music was OK. It is a game I will play again and I'm glad I bought it.
