Its a good storyline with a resource market, Shaman and helper to pick up resources when you're distracted and completing other tasks. He helps prevent the thieves from stealing everything. Frustratingly, just as you're about to finish within gold time, the thief gets to your resources faster than the helper or the cursor. No matter how hard you try. The most annoying element is not having ANY WAY to PERMANETNLY fortify BUILDINGS from damage. Its the reason I uninstall it every time. Remove the constant structural collapses and this game would been on par with other tm games like Beyond The Kingdom or Kingdom Tales etc, Both of which I've finished and re-played several times over.
I hate to say it but this is an insult to the Aztec Era
I'd started to lose faith in my pursuit of finding new and unchartered TM games to play. Beyond The Kingdom is a gradual town rebuilding game with a respectable progression of difficulty. Its not insulting like some and thankfully not virtually impossible to finish with 3 gold stars across the board. I recommend this for those that are new to TM and experienced players. For those who have been searching for more like Royal Envoy, New Yankee, Viking Saga or Kingdom Chronicles and were unsuccessful, you've finally found your needle in the haystack!
After quite a few hit's and misses playing different TM trials, I found Beyond the Kingdom CE to be a pleasant surprise and well worth the extra $$ required to purchase CE.. Finding good TM games that aren't larger than 250mb max (my older pc can't take it - even with an additional 2GB RAM!) is getting harder but until I've exhausted them all, I'll keep looking!.
I'm all about a challenge, especially when needing to redo a level until all 3 stars are achieved. But, Aztec Tribe: New Land lacks the one element most other strategy/time management games usually have, some other way to beat each level outside of no timer mode. Like the never ending or endless mode. I love playing without limits but without seeming ungrateful, I'd like to know when I've reached that limit. Like being told 'congratulations! you've done all you can for the level 1-10 endless mode, time to start 11-20". Or something like that. Also, the introduction of damaged buildings and other villager's thieving seems way over done. I'm not that far in and I'm ready to delete it! Maybe adding an element where upgrading mines etc stops this or adding a building that has a handyman to maintain it would be good. Some way to control all the destruction an pillaging would make me re-download or buy its sister game when released.
Seriously now, it didn't change anything, just gave me a reason to open my mac with more gusto than usual! I find myself thinking of new ways to win in the duels or beat which ever smart mouth is chosen for the game play! I have to say, the way the characters voice their opinion, each time another challenge starts, makes me laugh at the 'realness' (if thats a word?!). What I mean is, the characters say things as most (homo sapiens) would. Much better than the usual dialogue found within other game genres. Sometimes, I find that the developer's/creator's idea of what 'funny content' is completely off and misses its target.

Awesome just doesn't cut it! This game surprised me as I'd gone off of match 3 for quite some time. Not anymore! Now I find myself looking for anything remotely similar to Ancient Quest of Saqqarah! My fav is the swapping tiles room!
I'm a huge fan of time management/build a road games but this one has me stumped! Theres a chance of getting 3 stars for each challenge. My problem is, no matter how hard I try, I cant get more than 1 star after the first 2 challenges! Maybe making the time limit a little more realistic would help bring more positive reviews and a better game experience? Has anyone else had the same issue?
