Well, I just started playing this game and I started in RELAXED mode. I got to level 17 and then couldn't play anymore and had to do other things. I found out that I could not save my progress!! You mean to tell me that I have to perform all 92 levels in one sitting? That's ridiculous. After reading the other few reviews I decided to try it in ARCADE mode. Apparently you do have a CONTINUE feature for the ARCADE mode, but not the RELAXED mode. I haven't played it long enough to figure out the difference. I tried looking for some clock/timer on the ARCADE mode, but didn't see it unless I am blind.
I recommend this game!

I thought the game was ok and I am still working on getting the top points on all levels.
But the one thing that could really make this game is............the ability to move your soldiers and tanks to another spot even after you place them. The enemy is moving down the road......why cant I do the same? That would be awesome!

This game is ok starting out, but once you already have everything it QUICKLY gets pretty mundane and very repetitive.....endlessly. Once you get to 1,000,000 people what good is buying 2,500 people just to get to 5,000,000 people? The extra helps don't really help out either. I mean, the highest I think you go is 100 people per day extra added to your population. Not very helpful if you are trying to reach 5,000,000 people. If you have ever played SimCity for the SNES, it is pretty much similar in a few ways.

I don't know what happened to my original review of Skeleton Pirates. Maybe Big Fish deleted it because I gave away some hints. Oh well.....I will post them again! But this time it will be shorter but still keep the important parts.
In the special games section when you are surviving 10 rounds using only a few weapons......the mini-cannon will be useless. So to get around this just click on MENU and then go back in and you keep doing this until you get the heavy artillery that you need.
When you get to level 3-9 and 3-10 you will encounter the crawling skeletons. The only way to kill these are the catapult. Pick the double catapult. Some weapons you really have no use for. I have never used the mini-cannon and once or twice I used the bombs. I always use the same cannons each time unless I need the catapult for the crawlers. Oh, and you need the flame cannon for a certain skeleton and the black cannon for a certain skeleton. Anyway, I arrived at 4-1 and I am encountering the flying skeletons.
At this point I think I am going to give up on ever getting any farther. Starting off with only 50 stars and each star is STILL only 25? Not a very good way to get someone to keep playing the game. YOU HEAR ME DEVELOPERS?
Yeah, I know you can get the double chest that produces 2 stars instead of one. EVEN USING THIS......I should be able to start off with 100 stars, not 50. Each chest at this point should produce 50 stars, not 25.
As I said in my original review, when you reach level 3-1 you should start with 100 stars and each chest produce 50 stars instead of 25. I wonder if the developers can beat this game without cheating. I challenge them.........

This is a good game with a good concept and I really do enjoy it. The downside is that the pointer is sloppy and keeps moving some even after you stop you mouse movement. This has caused me to lose plenty of times and start over. I like making the trail, but with that problem it makes it frustrating. The other downside is when you get up in levels you have to constantly keep zooming because of a larger dungeon. Couldn't the makers have just made everything smaller to accommodate that? If the makers are reading this please tweak this game.....ESPECIALLY the dragging cursor problem.
