I bought this game sight unseen (or played) because I knew it'd be a good one. This is quite a long game to play, & there are a lot of ins & outs you have to remember.
There's an interactive map, which is definitely needed, as you jump from scene to scene a lot. The hint & skip buttons will re-charge quickly.
i loved the story line on this one. At the beginning, you're in WWI, & you end in modern day. It's supposed to take place in Scotland, but I must admit that the villain in this story has the worst Scottish accent I've ever heard! But you soon get past that as you try desperately to save the entire town from prematurely aging & dying. This is one of the best games in this series, as you go into your own past memories (games) to try to stop the madman.
I give this one of the best 5 stars I've ever given, Be sure to add this one to your collection. The re-play value? Well, since the story line is so immersing, I think I'll have to wait up to a year before I give it a go again.
This one's a winner!
I recommend this game!

I have loved the Cadenza series! But this one was a bit on the cheesy side. The creators really had to reach deep to find the story line for this game- too deep, in fact. We're all used to 'magic' experiments, mind altering conditions, etc. in games like theses, but this one relies on a single item: a guitar pick that allows a person to change bodies with another. Really?! That's the best they could do?
The hidden object scenes were pretty much the same all the way through; though there were a few that posed a challenge. Most were just clutters of junk you had to sort through & hope you ran onto what they were asking. I found most of the mini-games to be simplistic, some were just downright frustrating because they took so long, so I just skipped them.
This game was really a let-down. It certainly doesn't live up to the others in this series. I don't know if there will be another game in this series, but if there is, skip over this one & buy the newer one. Hopefully they will have put more insight & imagination into the new one.
I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS GAME!

This is a real gem! The story line gripped me from the beginning all the way to the end, & through the bonus game.
This game has 3 levels of player experience, as well as being able customize the user settings. I love that!
This game is the continuation of the Mystery Tales series. If you haven't played any of them, I'd suggest you start at the beginning, as the character grows & develops through the series. This game has a tremendous re-play value. There's also the option of playing match 3 instead of the HO scenes. The Ho scenes were a variety of silhouette, interactive & list.
Some of the mini games were challenging, others were quite simple.
As with all Collector's Editions, there are morphing objects, tarot cards & book pages. I was able to find all three collections! It took about 3 1/2 hours to complete (including the bonus game). Most bonus games are really lame, but this one is fantastic! So if you're looking for a wonderful & well thought out game, this is the one for you!
I recommend this game!

This game could have been a lot of fun, but it became monotonous! There's nothing but back & forth between rooms. It got to the point where I realized that I'd forgotten what the crime was. Along with that, was the fact that you visited the same HO scenes THREE times! Really?!
I will say that the voice overs were well done, but that's about the most positive thing I can say about it.
The HO scenes were very easy, plus there were a few silhouettes. This game does not stand up to Big Fish standards. Perhaps if you're a novice, this would be a game to play, but for the rest of us who have more than a few of these games under our belt, a big NOPE.
I don't recommend this game.

I was excited to get this one, & it didn't disappoint. The Secret Order series are one of my favorites. They have plenty of detail, story & challenge. This game is no exception. Since this is the CE, there are lots of bells & whistles, including customizing the game yourself. The storyline is awesome, & graphics are very good. By the end of the game, I began to believe in Dragons myself!
This game will have a great re-play value, if not played too soon. There are hidden dragon eggs & morphing objects to find, & that always adds a bit of fun in the mix.
This game is well worth the money. It wasn't so hard that it taxed me, but challenging enough to keep me playing throughout the day. Most of the mini-games were good, but there were a few I skipped just because of the length it would take to do them.
By all means, get this game & add it to your collection! A definite keeper in my game library, as are all the Secret Order games!
I recommend this game!

I got this game on a whim, & I'm glad I did. I really didn't think that it would be the challenge that it was. There's a lot of strategy in this one. There are no voice-overs, & the characters are drawn in a caricature style, & you can't help but love them. This is also a long game. It took me a long time to complete it. In fact, it wore me out, so I'd take a break & come back & hit it later. Like I say, I didn't expect much, but I feel like it was well worth the money. I'd definitely recommend this game to players of any level.

This game started out pretty well, but after a while, it became monotonous. There's a jump map, which you MUST use; there is very little continuity in this game. You play the same HO scenes at least twice, once with a list, then again with interactive shadows. The mini games were awful. Some were complex enough to make you feel like an idiot, yet others were just plain dumb. You end up carrying a ton of items with you through the whole game. My biggest gripe is about the 'other world' signs you have to click on. The clues are covered with a thick, black smoke, so it's almost impossible to match them up. There are also a number of misspelled words in the HO scenes. The worst for me was "Sigar" hmmmm.... I figured 'sugar'; nope. CIGAR! there were several others as well. This story line had the chance to be great, but they really should have taken this game off the shelf before it was even released. Save your money. Buy a game that has a better track record than this one.
I don't recommend this game.

I'm not a fan of Midnight Castle, & I thought if I got this game, it would help me get excited about playing it. NOT! Don't get me wrong. This is a nice little game. But it is in no way challenging. I found it all too easy. I agree with others that some of the HO scenes were sloppy.
The graphics are good - not exceptional. The music & voice overs are well done. You can set your own degree of difficulty. That's always a plus in my book.
Re-play value on this game would be very low. Since it was so simple & fast, I'd have to wait two or three years before I play it again. In fact, for many of us, it could probably be finished in the 1 hour trial time (or pretty close to it).
It was disappointing for me, but I guess if you're trying to get people to play Midnight Castle, you have to give them a bone to chew on first.
I will recommend this game - but with hesitation. If you are a first time gamer with BF, this would be a good game to start with. If you intend to play MC a lot, this would be the game to start with. Other than that, I'd say no if anyone asked me if they should buy it or not, especially if they have any HO experience. Look for one more challenging than this.
I recommend this game!

I was hesitant to buy this, but decided to anyway; I'm glad I did! Many of the reviews said that the items were too hidden & not clear enough to see. Obviously, they are the kind that don't like a challenge. Yes, the HO scenes had some really small & covered up items to find, but I found the challenge of finding these items entertaining. Granted, this game is a bit old; there aren't a lot of bells & whistles (although there are collectables to be found#.
Each HO scene is played at least twice. The mini-games are not that challenging. I did find one frustration, & that is that there is no map. There's a great deal of back & forth, so it gets a bit tedious. The hint button takes 30 - 60 seconds to recharge #not sure because I didn't need it much). Not sure about the skip, because I never used it.
The story line is pretty good, although I had figured out the ending long before I got to it. It took me a couple of hours to play. All in all, a nice little game. If you're looking for a rainy day kind of game that isn't going to tax your brain & give you a headache, this is a game that you should get.
I recommend this game!

Picked this up on a daily deal, & I'm glad I did. This game is very short; I finished it in less than 2 hours. What I loved though, was that it combined match 3 play with Hidden Object. To any of us who play these games often, you'd find that this one isn't much of a challenge. It was a nice way to kill a couple of hours. The mini-games were, for the most part, simple to understand & complete. There aren't any voice overs in this one, but they're not really needed.
I wouldn't give this game much of a rating for re-play value, unless of course you're into match 3. There's a good mix up in this game, but as I said before, really short. So enjoy!
I recommend this game!
