Well others may not like the "cutesy" effect, but it is certainly up my alley. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous and yes many times "adorable." I have been watching for this game since last September as they continued to extend the release date from quarter to quarter. I was definitely hyped for the release - I'm loving it. Yes they talk a lot, but this is not a fast paced ACTION game, if that is what you enjoy - this is not for you. This is more for . . . time to sit back, relax and enjoy the amazing graphics while they are talking. Yes there are other fairy tale type games out there, but way to few and far in between. I would love to see a similar game released at least once every two weeks. That should leave plenty of other time for the dark dreary and gruesome that so many people seem to enjoy.
The features of the game have all been reviewed prior to my review. No need to re-post the same thing. Hint and map system all work well for me to find it a pleasure to play the game.
Offered appropriately for Easter, this is a very simplistic HO game with a ton of simple mini games thrown in for good measure. However, this is definitely a "kids appeal" game. I’d say 8 and over with a lot of patience and a good understanding of some adult items - such as a radar display. And with all this CUTENESS - why did they feel the need to throw in a rifle? Also I noticed duplicate items. Two windmills in the same scene and obviously only one correct one - no fair! LOL But there are tons of things to do, everything from intricate paint by numbers, fit the shapes, put items where they belong and find 20 bunnies in one scene. The bunnies are so small and well hidden I had to start using hints after finding onlh 10 of them. Maybe an 8 year old has better eyes.
Hints refill almost instantly and the graphics are bright, cheerful and relatively crisp. The HOS' have extras to collect as well as a spinner allowing you to collect extra points by merely clicking on a STOP button - where it stops no one knows. But it was discouraging that it stopped on MINUS points more often than PLUS points. Not very good positive reinforcement for kids. The game is also very limited in options, you can set your volume and custom cursor, that's it. I don't often notice the music in games, but this one seemed to be extremely repetitive, enough so that I turned off my speakers But that doesn't make the game unplayable.
All in all I doubt that this game will appeal to any adult, even a beginner. And since the little one #granddaughter# in my life is way too young for this, I'll take a pass on this game.
I don't recommend this game.

I whole heartedly agree with lotusdk lotusdk - amazing! This is not the most sophisticated game, but if you are an Elvis fan, the subject makes up for it. This is an HOG adventure game. The HO scenes may be full of things to search through, but they are relative to the game/Elvis. Hint system is more than adequate considering the game is not that difficult to figure out on your own. For me it is well worth the $6.99. Think of it this way, Graceland is decorated in a retro style, so the game seems a little on the retro side too - kind of fitting.
The graphics are crisp, there is a journal as well as a map. Ooops, demo was over before I had a chance to check if the map is interactive. Music is very fitting to the game. This was the first time I turned my speakers up instead of down. You'll see actual clips of Elvis performing as well as a home movie clip. Hope there are more in the rest of the game. What a change of pace from the norm - I LOVE IT!!
One thing that was a little scary is that the end of the demo it said "Thank you for playing the game. I would have felt better had it said. Thank you for playing the demo" or "This is the end of the demo. For more . . . buy the game." I sure hope that wasn't the entire game - LOL #Just kidding.#

Phenomenal game! This game lacks the handholding we have all become accustomed to. It is very much like "The Tiny Bang Story" This game lacks the handholding we have all become accustomed to and you actually have to think. and [put that logic reasoning to work.
However, since there is very little handholding, the story line is simple, yet engaging and the graphics are quite exquisite. Normally I don't care about the music one way or the other, but in this game I found it quite nice. A very nice change from the dark, eerie and sinister story line games.
There is a HINT button #2 min.# and a SKIP option #after 4 min# No voiceovers, the story line is presented with pictures - but quite logical and it is easy to understand what you are expected to do next. Game length has been reported as 4 hours. I suspect it will take me a little longer, as an intermediate player. HO scenes are interactive. HO and other screens scroll, so it takes a little getting used to - otherwise you may miss something.
Definitely worth checking out. If you loved "The Tiny Bang Story" you'll love this one.
And if you are a little lost without the hand holding, please do not give this game a 1 Star rating - that's not fair. If you are lost, please do not review.

Being the third game in a series, this game continues its gorgeous fairy tale like graphics. Although you are looking for objects throughout the game, it is not the typical Hidden Object game per se. Very nice voice-overs and pleasant background music. The game is done in 3D with slight screen movement. If you're the type to get sea sick, the movement can be turned off in the options menu. Two levels of difficulty. In easy mode, the active areas sparkle. The hint system is cleverly incorporated into the list of objective and are not timed. Puzzles throughout the game are unique, interesting and not too challenging even for an intermediate player, although they can be skipped. There are four chapters to the game, each chapter is represented as a painting you advance through by repairing the painting before being able to enter it. There is a walkthrough available and so far I did look at it for one of the puzzles (I didn't get the objective of one game.). As an intermediate player I am spending a good hour per painting. So I expect the game to entertain me for over four hours. But I must say I am not rushing things, the graphics are worth enjoying. The most advanced players will probably not find it as challenging as they like and could proceed through the game faster.
For me it was a nice change from the dark atmosphere of so many other games. Although you are still fighting the "evil" it is done in a bright colorful, more lighthearted atmosphere. I figured this would be a buy for me as soon as it came out, after playing the demo it definitely was. So far I have completed two chapters and the game installed and plays flawlessly on a PC running Vista.
