Thrilling, funny, entertaining!
Just completed this game and enjoyed it tremendously.
Changing the player’s character is not new, but I’ve never seen this variation: you can play as Mary, your partner Aaron gets arrested or you can play as Aaron - and Mary gets arrested.
The first part of the game is a double bill. With great attention to detail everything giving away the identity of your player is changed: you see yourself as Mary in the mirror or as Aaron, you sign the guest book with the according name, you visit your partner in the cell.
Later on you play as her or as him.
The story is good, the graphics are beautiful, the puzzles interesting, most of them were great variations I had never played before.
The HOP’s are outstanding, plates overflowing with fresh ideas, twists and humour.
Main Story and Bonus Chapter are a treat, extras are very well done. I particularly liked the Mustache Pedia. And I love having the possibility to toggle pop ups. Great feature!
Kudos to the devs! Extremely well done!
I recommend this game!

Finished the full game, after many many, far too many breaks.
The start was very promising, after the trial the glyphs took over and spoiled my enjoyment of the game completely.
I found myself limping from chapter to chapter, using hints every 15 seconds, skipping mini games, just to get on.
The story had started well, but went down and down hill. I lost interest in who had reappeared from those believed dead, who pretended to be someone else, who was dying - even for a good cause.
Sorry, was expecting too much and was bitterly disappointed.
I highly appreciate one element: the tool bag with the hatchet, the brush and so on. You didn't use a tool once and had to look for the same one in the next scene.
But, does this tool bag have to dance as soon it is needed? I'd love to see a more subtle hint or none at all, as I'm quite able to recognize when and where I have to use a hatchet or a brush.
After this first offering I'm giving away my wanderlust shoes.
I don't recommend this game.

I am exhausted, drained, yet elated to have finished this game and I feel excited, satiated!
The Vermillion Watch did this! I didn’t do much else than playing „In Blood“ this weekend. For hours and hours, fun hours, at times a bit frustrating, but aren’t the best things in life those you have to fight for? I didn’t ruin my mouse hitting it with a stylus, as I was not fast enough clicking it the usual way to overcome the challenge on the roof of the train.
To compensate I stayed on the roof much longer than necessary, I just enjoyed the wind in my hair and the views before tackling a new task.
Graphics, music, puzzles, a total of great ingredients. Plus an interesting story! And many, many HO's with interesting twists.
A challenging, satisfying game that pulls out so many stops and leaves you wondering if it ever could be topped. But not all stops have been pulled, so I’m looking forward to new surprises.
After all, Blofeld, archenemy of James Bond, appeared in seven movies. The Red Queen has some catching up to do!
I recommend this game!

Just completed the full game. Another great myth, this time one from Germany. Even if Lorelei is not sitting on a rock, humming tunes, combing her hair and confusing boatsmen.
I looked the figure up, found pictures of the surroundings, very well adapted.
The sceneries were outstandingly beautiful! It was so peaceful up on the cliff, watching the Rhine flow by, waiting for a boat to pass. I had to tear myself away, after all I had a husband to save.
I’m glad I played on, as there was much more to discover: Skulls used as flower pots, crossing the river on a ferry, skeletons hanging from the ceiling, a witch with very human needs, breaking into a Throne Room, to name a few scenes and moments I thought were just brilliant.
I’m a huge fan of HO’s, in this respect the game was a real treat. There were fantastic details as a corn cob when I had to look for a feather. So well done! The „Find 5“ opening of the HO in the city was entertaining, it’s always good to see what ideas come up.
The mini-games were pretty good, well laid out and doable, not frustrating. I even enjoyed some I usually don’t really like, as the Simon Says on the fountain in the city.
Having morphs in scenes instead of HO’s was a nice surprise, it was very well indicated whether there is a morph in the scene and when you found it, the difference was well visible. If you miss one, you can go back and look out for them after completing the game.
Boring? Slow? Mileage may vary for every gamer. For me the game was fast and compelling!
But: the music was far too idyllic and too relaxing. I switched it off and played tunes from „Of Fiends and Fairies“. I prefer motivating and inspiring music.
The main game completes the story. In the Bonus Game we meet a new character on a different mission.
I really enjoyed this offering of Myths of the World and am looking forward to the next one.
I recommend this game!

Please, I want some more potatoes and trying new cooking methods as roasting them in a shabby neon sign!
I love light switches doing nothing, wrestlers, helping a sailor with flags, chestnuts shovelled up with slippers, hungry birds handling worms, grappling chickens. More so a labyrinth with blood? ink? that looks like a tricky puzzle, but turns out to be none.
To my enjoyment I encountered a service bell in the shape of a snail, a selfie stick used sensibly for once. I even enjoyed being attacked by a folk tale.
I don’t mind trying every item in the inventory, I’ve got time. At least I can give all of them them a shot.
Big compliments for the cut scenes. The opening scene with Malcom’s hand touching the wheats, the scene when the revenant appears in the Trophy Room - exceptional.
Such a great game! Well done!
I recommend this game!

It started interesting and challenging enough.
Creepy setting, gripping story, but after the trial time it went down and down and down. Pace, tasks (how many more zipper pull hunts and Simple Simon Type puzzles are on our way?), confusing story bits.
Ok, might have dozed off here and then, I still don't know the parts of Randall and Abigail, two characters you meet on your mission to save Timmy.
Good doze of humour, a treasure for all dog lovers! These HOP's were really funny!
SPOILER:
As in former Maze Games, I didn't get the deeper meaning of choices we have to make. They don't have any impact on further gameplay. If you choose the "wrong" one, you're simply taken back to the option of choices.
I found the Bonus Chapter rather tedious, collectibles hard to find (had to use the SG more than I wanted to), the other extras didn't make it for me.
Didn't find any explicit content, in my opinion a warning for those susceptible to motion sickness and flashing lights would have been more appropriate.
I recommend trying the game!

As closely as I watched, as often as I read the Illusions on the tablet I had as Ms Douglas (nice touch, the first name is the one you choose as your profile), I didn’t get all of them. The illusionists (or the developers) were always one step ahead.
I replayed the „mind reading“ mini-game three or four times, still don’t get WHY it works.
A very good game, murder mysteries are my favourite ones. The scenery was just fantastic, the rooftop scenes were super, although I don’t like heights.
I particularly liked the Hidden Object Scenes, so many different approaches to them.
The Bonus Game was a great addition, a sequel taking place one year later.
A few points stop me from giving this game five stars: the scenes look a bit blurred; the sounds opening/closing your inventory, zooming in/out were a bit overpowering; the music was mostly too soothing, only two or three tunes were suspenseful. And the deductive dialogues turned out to be a click fest, the clues were not clear for me.
Probably I wasn’t watching closely enough?
I recommend this game!

So refreshing to get a game a cut above. This game has it all: engaging story line, great visual experience, well done cut-scenes, creative Hidden Object Scenes. I often think all possibilities have been exhausted and then we get fresh and new ones as in this game.
Plus a variety of puzzles, from easy to hard. I don’t mind puzzling what has to be done and spending tons of time solving. I managed to finish all puzzles and it felt very rewarding.
10 stars for taking me out of my comfort zone and making me think, setting up fantastic scenery, filled with very fitting music, sound effects and interesting characters. Above all - a great story!
Must admit, didn’t know much about Norse mythology so far, but now I’m going to dig deeper!
I recommend this game!

Based on trial.
What a treat - challenge upped for once, great dose of humour, story unfolding in a brilliant pace, quirky characters, reminiscences of former MCF games, great puzzles, fantastic, innovative HO's, super soundtrack - couldn't wish for more!
Love it! Kudos to all who helped to do such a super duper game!!!

Remarks based on playing the trial.
There was a time when I could not wait to play a new ERS game.
There was a time when I "upgraded" a Standard Version to a Collector's Edition, because I didn't want to miss out.
These days have gone.
Already in the beginning I felt bored. Get a letter from someone in trouble, travel there, overcome a few hurdles to get to the town. Snore.
What made me stop playing the full trial was the wounded guard and the defibrillator. That was just too much of making a game out of a thin idea with no ambition to offer at least some coherence.
Poor HO's, far too easy puzzles, a helper which serves as flying camera, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. And a dreadful soundtrack.
I turned to doing household chores and found dusting, ironing and cleaning so much more interesting and enjoyable than playing this game.
I don't recommend this game.
