I rarely write reviews on here but felt like I needed to for this one. I thought this was a little more of a HOP game. It's not, it more of a search & find, repeat game. I normally don't do or care for these type of games because I get bored really easy. One reason is because I can usually spot items Really Fast. The other reason is because searching for repetitious items in repetitious scenes are truly brain numbing for me. I actually rolled my eyes so many times, I started to get a tick in my right eye. Why didn't I just quit then? Because I wanted to at least try to finish the Demo part. Nope, couldn't make it.
This game does have a story line to go with it. It's more like a horror mystery type theme. I will say that that was a little interesting. BUT the fact that you have to search the same rooms, areas & items, over & over & over, is what just killed it for me. There are a few different things with this S&F game. There are magnifying glass & question mark bubble views to click on to get your story line & extra needed items for future tasks. You can also redo your search scene for better points & awards, etc.
Overall, if you do like the Search & Find type of games, I think you might enjoy this one with the little added extras it has. However, if you don't truly care for doing these types of games, then I would just skip this one completely.
I had played the Beta demo and loved it. I could not Wait for this game to be released. As soon as it was, I grabbed it up. The storyline is really good. It can be a challenge to find things and on occasion it can also be a challenge to figure out what you need to do next. But overall, it really is a great game and I wish there were more of these games developed and released!
What to expect: *You need to locate items to complete tasks to be able to move forward within the story. You are trying to get to the castle to save your furry feline friend. Then your Mom when you get there and then after the game, there us a Bonus round where you try to see/save your Dad. *You will see a LOT of items lying around all over the game and some are hidden but you may not be able to actually grab them. Not until you actually need them. (This is a small pet peeve of mine but eventually I just try to ignore it.) Once you find an area that needs items to be completed, you go on a search for those items. You will need to look in every single nook and cranny. Including lifting up items and looking behind things, etc. A lot of the time, you'll be unable to locate an item or two. But when you complete a task, sometimes the item you were missing, will be hidden within that one task. Kind of cool or kind of annoying, depends on how long you looked for an item before you found that out. lol. *If you get stuck, there is a hint option, but not like the normal hint options you get in an HO Adventure game. After you use 1 or 2 times, you will need to refill it. You have to locate 5-6 leaves/water drops that are close to the section you are in at the time of using the hint up. But, they are morphing so it can be a challenge if you aren't good with morphing items. I happen to love morphing items, but barely needed the hint button. Mostly because I wanted to do the game without help. *There is no map, but you really don't need one. *There are puzzle pieces thru-out the game to collect. They are stored in a book. When you collect 12 per page and put the pic together, it explains a little bit about the characters and some bits of the story. *In the same book of the puzzle pieces, you "will be told" about what happened to get Anna where she is and why. (Having a voice-over on the story - I am not sure if it's suppose to or not. I say this because I started the game and then got sick for a couple of months. When I got better, I went back to playing it. However, when the story in the book was being "told", there was no voices or talking. You read a short skit prior to going into the book and then the book showed very limited pictures. I don't remember if there was a voice speaking when looking at the book when I originally started the game or not, so unfortunately, I can't say definitively one way or the other. However, IF NOT, then this would be a negative in my rating on this game. Seeing the pages complete was not a clear explanation and no way to go back to see what the story was because once the words were flashed on the screen they went away fast and you can not get them back up. Not a good thing in my opinion if you are interested in the storyline when you play games. If you don't care, then yay, no worries.) *As briefly mentioned earlier, there is a bonus game where you try to find your Dad.
Overall, I really did enjoy this game and I would highly recommend this game to any level of player. It is entertaining, makes you think and it's good for those who like to do searches.

When you 1st start this game, there's an HO that you do. I, at first, thought it was an "old" older game type. I Almost, immediately deleted the Demo. But, I decided to hang in there. I am glad I did. Because right after the HO, it goes into more of what to expect in your game play. it does have the older version type of some graphics and games. But it doesn't take away from the fun factor. What takes away from the fun factor for me, is the fact that the games are So Easy and how much back and forth you do is crazy. The story itself is okay, but there isn't much dialog. There are only 3 dialog scenes in the demo play and they are really short. For those who don't like dialog in their games, you'll love this fact. Those who like a medium or more dialog content, you won't be happy.
Overall, I will probably get this game later when it comes out as a SE game. Not the CE version because the only collection you have in this one is some scrolls.
As for recommending it, sure. It isn't a bad game. Just be prepared to have old looking graphics, really and I mean REALLY simple HO's and mini games. A lot of back and forth, but you do have a map that lets you jump areas. And as you get with most games like this, a lot of things that won't make sense. (So if you are a stickler for this last part, I wouldn't bother with this game. Because to give you an idea of what I am talking about: when Guinevere is told King Arthur, her and everyone else will be killed if...... NOONE moves or gets upset. And this probably has a lot to do with the way the graphics are. I mean, when I say Old School, I mean cardboard stick like cartoon figures with background noises. Or something of the like. Lol) Try the demo first if nothing else.

There's a review already up on here from "Pennmom36" that I am in agreement with on a few things that they said. Elephant games from before were Awesome! Graphics were the best quality and when you started playing the games, you knew without a doubt what-so-ever, that you were playing an Elephant game. But for some reason lately, they just seem, I don't know, lacking, I guess. They don't have that beautiful graphic quality they used to always have. The challenges in the games had more of an entertaining factor where you weren't so quick to just "skip" it to get it over with, either. As for Elf, I really don't care one way or the other if he's in this series any longer. The only thing I really liked about having Elf was that he could do the digging. This way I wouldn't need to mindlessly have to search for a spoon or whatever to dig in a mountain of dirt for some mundane part that you would never find in a mountain of dirt to begin with. But, like I said, not that big of deal.
I gave this game 3 stars all around because it isn't a "Poor" game, but it isn't great either. One of the reasons is that there aren't any morphing items or collections in this game, at all. WTW? Part of the appeal of these games is the little extras we do along the way of searching and roaming. Without these little fun extras, it's like we are paying the same for a shorter, more mundane game.
Okay, here is a short list of things you may want to know about in this game: *As you can see by the many reviews, this game has "ok" graphics. It actually looks a little muted with a fog like look. *The story line actually isn't too bad. If you play the demo, you don't really get to see much of what is going on, either. *You don't have any "Elf" or any helper for that matter. *There are 3 teenagers/young adult investigators that you switch between, becoming and playing as each one for a short time, back and forth. Much like the same as the Dark Romance games by Domini developers and the Strange Investigators by Elephant developers. If you like that then it won't bother you. If you Don't like it, then it may nag you. I, personally, find it annoying to have to switch back and forth on what character I am playing. *There is a map. But I am not sure about the Strategy Guide because I only played the demo part. However, I did see a little writing pen in the corner by the "hint/skip" button on the web page where the game is advertised, so that is usually the same icon for the Strategy guide. *Yep, you read it, there is a Hint/Skip button. (Ya know, where the little "possible" strategy guide is located next too? lol) *You do have the 4 choices of play - Casual, Advanced, hardcore and Custom, to choose from. *There are NO Morphing Objects or ANY collectibles in this game. *I found the mini games to be a little on the bland side.
Overall, it really is just an Okay game. If you don't have anything else to play, then I'd say give it a whirl. If you do have something else, I'd pass this one for a rainy day.
I was glad to see a whole new type of game out there. There really isn't too many popping up these days because for one thing, only 2 developers seem to be doing much of "creating new games" lately. (Domini is doing the most, and I for one am EXTREMELY grateful they are.) So, I downloaded the demo and set about finding out if I was going to wait for the Standard game, just get the CE now or just pass on this one all together. Unfortunately, I am going to Pass on it until they fix the Glitch they have going on right now. Here is what happened and more on the game play & features.... I played for a good hour/hour 1/2. I was at the theatre which is the 2nd to last chapter of the demo, if not real close to it, where I finally got what I was needing to scare a bird up on a light pole, so it would drop my keys to the car. (yup, another one of those "are you kidding me" stupid errands we seem to need to do so often in these games), Then I put the key in the car door. But before I opened it, I looked at the map to make sure I cleared all the "extras", I like to double check to make sure I don't skip a "collectable" item. (Those are the best part for me.) I had one more in the theatre, went in there, grabbed it and then went back to the car and .........NOTHING! The car door wasn't open, I couldn't get inside, I couldn't even go forward. Not even on the map because the next chapter hadn't been accessed yet therefore it was blocked from entry. And the "key" was missing from the car door, I couldn't finish what was needed in order to "drive" forward, I couldn't walk forward either. I exited out of the game, then went back in, I tried a few things, but nothing would work. I ended up just deleting the demo and writing this review. Nothing really is as aggravating as playing a game like these for over an hours time and then not be able to finish when you only have a few more steps left, or actually, ANY steps left.
Also, if you are the type to get irritated by things that don't make sense regarding where you find things that you are needed to find and use, then you won't enjoy this game. Me? It doesn't really bother me too much because, IT'S A GAME! Lol But some are REALLY senseless and are a little irritating like this one where you're in an HO and you need to put 2 things together that are "supposed" to create an item like: a hat and a bucket are things that make a "top hat". WHAT?! and feathers & (get this), a fan to create a ...FAN! Seriously?? LOL Yeah, that was a little hard to swallow. There are quite a bit of nonsense things in this game, so be sure you are aware of this if you decide to get this game. Or, just play the demo, to see if it bothers you too much.
So, unfortunately, I can't recommend this game the way it is with the glitch and all the things that are just a little too idiotic. However, by all means, if it doesn't really matter to you, then go for it! The game otherwise is fun.
This was based on Demo part only. You will have a few short chapters to play, coins to collect along with evidence pieces and some ink blot pages. (You won't be able to look at the collectable items or even the "store" to use the coins you collect unless you purchase the SE or CE game. You get a map that you can jump to locations with. You also get a Strategy Guide but it will only show you the demo sections. (I know this because I used it to try and figure out what was going on with the car keys.)
I don't recommend this game.

This game is one of the best I have played in a long time. And not just because the frogs so called language was hilarious. (However, that was just piles of frosting on the cake!) The story line is good. You have to help each frog/Prince to get to their Princess so the True Loves Kiss brings the Prince back to normal. This game is a point and click adventure with some HO's. (The HO's are mostly getting pieces to use in another area.) If you get stuck, there is a hint button. However, I don't think you will need it. You don't have to do an overabundance of back and forth like most games make you do. There is no map, however, you do not need one. The game is straight forward on where you are, where you were and how to get where you need to. Once you finish the journey to get the prince to where he belongs, you go onto another Frog/Prince adventure in another location. This game is for everyone. Young, old, beginners, experts. The graphics are up to date. I had no problems playing on my PC. I highly recommend this game! It's a keeper.
