I must admit, I was skeptical when I first saw that this was about 'phantom water'. Even more skeptical of purchasing this game before trying however, I was bored and it was featured.
When I first started playing I knew immediately that I was going to like it a lot. There are quite a few of those annoying HO scenes (no offense to anyone who enjoys HOS, just not my thing) but I really didn't mind them in this game. They were very clear, yet some things are cleverly hidden. The best part about the HO scenes in this game is that you can opt out and piece together jigsaw puzzles instead! I love jigsaw puzzles so this was right up my alley. When you find the bonus objects you get 'experience' points, which is something new and different. There are also different bonus object collections. Story progresses at a quick rate and that is a BIG plus for me. I hate to be stuck in the same spot for very long. I'm not going to say a whole lot more as I haven't finished the game yet. I just couldn't wait to review this game and that never happens with me. I had to force myself to stop playing a few minutes ago to go to bed. IMHO, definitely worth the $$. Get it!!
PS- Graphics are beautiful. Some of the best I have seen lately.
I recommend this game!

BASED ON COMPLETED DEMO:
I played this game on the 'tomorrow's game today' deal and am a bit late rating it. I hadn't planned on rating it at all (because I rarely rate anything). I just disliked this game so much that I couldn't help myself. Every time I see it on the top games list it just irks me to no end. This game is a good example of why you shouldn't let a series go on and on unless you have pre-planned every game in advance. It felt like this story was just thrown together at last minute. Voice-overs were unbelievable and each sounded like it was coming from some mentally incompetent psych ward patient. Every character sounded the same person. It was almost like a bad imitation of one of Robin Williams weird character voices. The storyline has been done a thousand times over. The doll houses, the 'stone into life' thing, the characters, the voices, the setting- I could go on and on because there was so much about this game that I hated. I'm sorry I just had to let it out. I haven't hated a game this much in a long time. There was only one thing that I liked and that was that they chose to make a 'custom' difficulty level. I think every game should have that option. Needless to say and IMHO, I do not recommend buying before trying.
I don't recommend this game.

I've been a bit Artifex Mundi fan since day one. They always seem to make sure their games are unique, fun and visually stunning. This game is no exception. They have integrated at least 4 different types of HO scenes. 1.) Basic HOS (with mini-mini games).
2.) Silhouettes- You must use the objects you find to find the next.
3.) HOS where you find the pieces to one whole object.
4.) Last but not least- There is one in particular that I found unique. A witch is helping you to make something and is standing there telling/giving you what you need next. You then must figure out where it goes. I really liked this one.
HOS/Mini-games- Really not that hard. All but maybe 2 of the mini-games were fairly easy. The HO scenes are just a tad more difficult. They have some things cleverly hid.
The graphics, as usual, are out of this world amazing. Sound is also great. Dialogue is a bit corny but the voice-overs are believable.
Gameplay wasn't quite as long as I expected, but good. It wasn't drawn out too much. I think altogether it might have taken me about 5-6 hours of play time (main game only). Story progresses quickly but not too quickly. That is another thing I love about their games. I tend to get bored easily if in the same scene for very long, but I never have that problem with that here.
For those of you who enjoy a lot of interaction in games- I really thought they did a good job in making it so there were a lot of possible interactions. There are also achievements you can earn and items that you can find.
Long story short- This game is worth every penny. It has been a long time since I really enjoyed a game like this.
I recommend this game!

First and foremost, the graphics were superb. Probably some of the best I've seen lately. The sound was great and voice-overs believable. The game itself is quite long and there are some very challenging mini-games. Mini-games that would take hours if not for a 'hint' button built into each. Mini-games within mini-games. There are a few repetitive actions. One being the clocks. You will see what I mean and I'm sure it will annoy you, as it did me. :) The level of difficulty on HOS was great for me. I usually play on the hard difficulty level but had to switch to casual within the game. Like I said, not an easy game. I can't speak on the bonus game yet, as I have just started to play. Get the game. You won't be disappointed.
I recommend this game!

First and foremost, like many others have said, this game contains amazing graphics and a great storyline. Some of the characters weren't convincing, but no big deal. I really loved the idea of the 7 deadly sins as a theme and the story was told well. Some of the puzzles were halfway done when I started, while others were more of a challenge. HO scenes weren't challenging at all, in my opinion. I couldn't wait to get to the bonus scene and found that it was a bit disappointing when I did. Very rushed and short. If I had to do it over I would have just bought the SE version. Overall- very smooth gameplay with a great story. Everything fit and I really enjoyed it.
I recommend this game!
