Very well portrayed characters help to give this game depth along with satisfying graphics and good game play opportunities. The puzzles vary in difficulty which I appreciate. It is pleasing to see that this is the first in what might turn out to be a very good series if the developers continue in this vein.

Beautiful bright graphics and fantasy themed story and an attention to detail make this a desirable game combined with enjoyable puzzles. It is a joy to play.
Unexpectedly entertaining as not my usual choice of game

I survived to the end of this game in spite of being rather inept at arcade games. Although I got a zero score on the Ship Invaders mini game, I managed to keep up with the others. I reckon the game has plenty of challenge even for the flighty of fingers. Meanwhile there are plenty of things to do for the less able. The story is excellent and I enjoyed the puzzles. The ending is great. See for yourself. No spoilers! I could enjoy playing this one again. How about another one, developers!

This is quite a long game and sometimes takes a little patience to enjoy the full reward. It is also educational in that you can learn a lot about Norse mythology. Apart from that it is massive fun! I am pleased to see there is another game out to progress the series. The graphics are superb. The music is utterly appropriate. Puzzles are a great mix, some of them quite tricky. If I get stuck I like to go away and do something else, even play an easier game, then things often seem to fall into place when I return. I loved the characterization. This game has real class.

My review is based on playing the CE version right through. I always felt involved in the characters and story and never felt bored. Naturally you have to enjoy fantasy as a prerequisite to liking this game. Another reviewer has commented on the amount of fog present, and there is a fair bit in certain scenes, but for me it added atmosphere and seemed to be relevant to the story, so I did not find it irritating. The graphics were interesting and the music was haunting. There was a good variety of mini games.

This is a very polished game, very bright and glittery. It would have appeal I think to a wide age range. Some of the puzzles are extremely easy, whilst others pose a challenge. It is sometimes difficult to locate objects in HOP scenes mainly because everything seems to have the same degree of brightness. I could not feel a deep empathy for the characters, and the fox helper was so hale and hearty it almost made me feel weak. However, I played this through at a leisurely pace and seriously enjoyed the relaxing effect it had. I liked the secret room in the extras section where you can challenge yourself to reducing the time it takes to solve the HOPs which were beautifully presented. I also look forward to replaying some of the mini games again. I would like to see more of an elephant theme. There was one in a HOP. Please could we have more. The Santa hat on the Elephant in the developers' logo was a nice touch.

A really beautiful, well made, satisfying game. I am so glad I got the collector's edition too. The extras are great and include screen savers as well as the enjoyable things that we are expect from an attentive developer. Mini games and HOP's are attractive and interesting. The graphics are very good and atmospheric and there are some really fine animations. The musical score is haunting. The story is dramatic and touching. I felt truly involved. I think I will play this through again some time.

Once this game got a hold on me I found it to be enthralling. It has a great story, and hey, in the scheme of things, who is looking for factual plausibility in this kind of genre which in this case has got a fairy you would only want as a friend plus an orc with attitude and a goblin that has the cutest snore among other great characters? The graphics are very imaginative. Some of the mini games are in a style seen before, but they are old favourites and well presented and there are some different ones too. Finding what to do next in a scene can be a puzzle in itself. The HOPs are of a progressive silhouette type that can be quite tricky. I hope that there is a sequel, because one of the characters ends up in a pickle. The bonus game is good with its own set of collectibles. The extras include the facility to download wallpapers as well as concept arts as complete sets which I like, and there are mini games and puzzles to replay as well as other extras. Good stuff!
Great story well told with plenty to keep the player on toes

There was a very good sense of pace throughout, so that it always felt fresh and exciting. I blame Madhead for the fact that I placed some of my duties on hold in order to indulge in and complete this marvelous game.
Others have explained the details of gameplay very well. I just wanted to thank the developers.
At the moment I am playing the sequel, and I recently did a beta test trial of a further proposed installment of this excellent story.
I have just finished playing this game and I enjoyed it so much. It is worth getting the CE for the bonus game itself which is totally relevant to the story and very exciting. Towards the start of the bonus game there is a message to the effect that this segment is not as scary as the main game, which you will find is a mischievous expression.
Pros - great story terrific atmosphere beautiful HOPs interesting minigames stunning graphics cunning and amusing collectibles
