This game was amazing. As you go through, the story unfolds, sweeping you along. A couple of the HOS scenes feel mildly intrusive to the progression of the story, but over all the HOS and Puzzles don't get in the way of what is a truly epic story of adventure, loss, and betrayal.
The last bit of the demo raises the question of just how many humans have gone through that portal between the worlds -and what exactly happened to them.
When I get the money, I'm buying the game. I have to see how it ends!

I was one of the beta testers of the game, and it was highly entertaining just in that format. Plus, either coincidence was stretched to the max, or the tree has a nasty streak in whatever it has for a mind. I highly recommend playing this game!

I was one of those who played the trial version, and found it fantastic. Lovely gameplay, easy to figure out what to do next, excellent challenges, fascinating story, and just enough back story so you didn't feel like you were stepping into a hole.
I especially loved the little twists that manifested even in so short a time.
I just bought the collector's edition for myself, too, so my money is where my mouth is. :)
The visuals are beautiful, the graphics move smoothly. The story is engaging. The puzzles work well.
But the interactive actions in the HOS are mostly nonintuitive, making it difficult to guess what needs to be done next.
The blowpipe and the slingshot are incredibly difficult to manage. The wind factor with the blowpipe makes aiming very difficult; it feels like not just the direction of the wind, but the strength, changes from shot to shot. I hate skipping puzzles on principle, but I just could not manage this one, no matter how carefully I judged or how I tweaked my aim.
The slingshot is made harder by the fact it is held at an angle to the viewer, rather than straight on as anyone holding it would use and aim it (and as most games using slingshots, bows, and other missile weapons place it in relation to the player). This makes setting off the explosion incredibly tricky, causing repeated over and under shots. That rock just in front of the target doesn't help much either.
I rarely skip puzzles, trying over and over again or looking up guides and walkthroughs if I'm stuck, because I'm going to get through this, darn it, but these two I just could not get past.
If you can manage the HOS and aiming issues, then there is no reason you shouldn't buy this game. But they are drawbacks as far as I'm concerned.
I loved this game, its play, and its story, especially the heart-rending ending. But the additional material given in the CE's bonus level severely screws up the end of the story, changing it from a heart-wrenching moral dilemma to a very prosaic and boring dead horse trope ending.
Unless you want the rest of the bonus stuff and the extra gameplay, the standard game is fine.
This game is deep, engaging, and gorgeous, with excellent gameplay. I *love* that the girl, instead of sitting shivering waiting for the hero, gets up and out and actively helps with her own rescue, in addition to helping someone else along the way! Very satisfying.
I highly recommend purchasing the collector's edition; it adds a depth to the story the main game doesn't give. If you do, don't look at the achievements possible before playing the bonus chapter; two of them are spoilers for the ending.
I recommend this game!

This game is fine for beginners or if you're in the mood for something easy to play, but it's not particularly challenging. For that I would recommend Avalon Legends Solitaire or Emerland Solitaire.
My biggest objection is the story is rather boring. To me, artwork, gameplay, and story are required in combination to make an effective game I'll love replaying. Emerland and Avalon manage that. Stolen Power doesn't.
