If a game has the word "weird" in the title, then I expect some weirdness and I wasn't disappointed. It was just weird enough to make me want to see what was in store as the game progressed. And just so much FUN! Colorful and entertaining. More fun than MANY CEs that have been churned out of the cookie cutter machine that seems to be the norm these days. I haven't played the previous Weird Park games so I think this game could stand alone.
This game moves right along but has good length. No time to get bored. Puzzles are my favorite and this game had a great variety. From "easy" to "thinkers" but nothing so hard that I was frustrated. Some just good for a laugh. HOPAs were varied too. A couple had misnamed objects. Looked for a spyglass that ended up being billiard balls. A "letter figurine" turned out to be maracas.
Just when I thought the game was over, I was surprised to see an extra chapter begin! Prehistory on the evil jester and how the clown became involved with him. Just as good as the main game--maybe a little better!
All in all I think this game will appeal to a variety of players. SO happy to have gotten it free with my punch card because I would definitely have paid money for it. I wholeheartedly recommend this game! Five stars for FUN!
I recommend this game!

Bought this game after playing the demo and was in for a big disappointment. Proof that the demo doesn't always tell the tale. Mistwalkers and unearthly cold seemed to have such potential.
Yes, its lovely to look at but looks don't mean there will be any entertainment value. Half way through the main game I was just map jumping to get it over with. The super puzzles were the only thing that kept me going and that just wasn't enough.
Two items I need behind glass? Well, lets get one with a magnet I KNOW is laying around here somewhere. Oh, but wait, the only way I'll be able to get the other one is by locating a glass cutter. Really? Wish I had counted the number of horseshoes I've had to find in these games. Or lighters, knives, zipper pulls, hooks not connected to ropes, or "somethings" I had just a moment ago (or just had to identify in a hidden object scene), but I'll have to find another because I don't have it NOW.
Find someone laying face down in the snow? So sorry. No time for YOU right now. I must go perform some other inane chores before I can help you. My squirrel friend is being attacked by a vicious crow? Hang on buddy. I'll have to get to you later. Really?
The bonus game added nothing. The alternate ending got a bit of a boost by dragging in a past MCF baddie, but not enough to save it. A lot of reaching to tell this disjointed story.
Gratuitous cut-scenes. Sub-par voiceovers. Busy work. None of these define entertainment to me. So-o-o, two stars. One for the super puzzles. One for the visuals. Such a shame.
I don't recommend this game.

I have been SO disappointed with games of late, but I am ON FIRE after playing Color Of Fright! KUDOS to all of the creative minds that came together to make this game that grabbed mine, on so many levels, from start to finish!
I've never been a cut scene fan because I felt it interrupted the game play. I was so absorbed in the game that I practically hung on every word. All about discovering the story.
Ho-hum HOS? NO way! Such a VARIETY and so nicely spaced. So much to do in this game but I never felt like I was overwhelmed. PUZZLES (my favorite part of any game) running the gamut from simple to those I haven't seen the likes of since MCF: Fate's Carnival. When you complete one of those, you feel like you've ACCOMPLISHED something! Like keeping your brain alive and kicking!
Haven't ever been excited about cutesy sidekicks, but they have even managed a nod to those who do. When you need a little helper, why you just pull out your paint palette and MAKE one! And if that sounds like fun--IT IS! I had to laugh because the cute, furry creations became a bit more scaly as the game progressed. Which was so perfect because we were getting closer to the mind of the madman!
Morphing objects and collectibles that, for the most part, weren't too hard to find. I did let a couple get by me. But the 24 MONSTER collectibles! No cookie cutter monster shapes. Every single one an individual with a name! Some cute. Some not so cute. I am flabbergasted at the amount of work it had to take to create them and the worlds of this game.
Puzzles for my brain. A color palette for the artist's eye. Twisted enough that I wouldn't recommend it for children. Just enough to be kinda spooooky. And laughing out loud at some of the remarks that let you know that that these devs must have had a BLAST creating this game. And I was over the moon playing it!
I recommend this game!
