Wow, what a pleasure to play! Not your standard HOG, but an adventure with beautiful handdrawn scenes. There are two modes of play (I started out with casual - NO sparkles, yay!) as well as achievements. Interesting storyline; the tasks and minigames aren't too hard; I only used the walkthrough twice, I think, but could've finished on my own as well. Beware, there are two or three minigames that require hand-eye coordination! You're not all alone in this adventure, you have three friends with you who each have their individual strengths. Good length. I'm looking forward to playing expert mode!
This is a review of the full version. I played this game in expert mode(there's also casual) and was mildly challenged. I thought graphics were beautiful, and there were lots of scenes to explore. I liked that there was an interactive map that made it possible to jump between locations instantly, especially because gameplay is somewhat nonlinear. I did notice a few things I wasn't so happy with: some mislabelling of items during hidden object scenes and most annoyingly some objects to interact with that you just had to randomly click on because the game didn't tell you there was something to be done with them. The storyline was so-so; I didn't care for the ending at all! It seemed rushed and abrupt and left me with a lot of questions. But all in all, playing was a pleasure and I'm not sorry I bought the game!
Wow, I'm very surprised this hasn't been released as a collector's edition, what with the bonus chapter, the incredible graphics and all! Enough has been said about this game already, and all I can do is join the enthusiastic crowd! I absolutely loved this game; it totally captivated me (and I'm usually not one who follows a story too closely). My heart stopped a few times, so beware if you scare easily! I played the whole game in advanced mode, but will definitely play again in expert to earn all achievements (another thing I love about "Abyss")! I also enjoyed the difficulty - not too hard, but neither too easy; just the right challenge to relax and not pull your hair out over impossible minigames! It's a pretty linear game with some backtracking, but not as much as in other games I've played. So, if you want to kick back and relax and become totally enthralled by a game, this is the one to try!
I just couldn't get into the grainy graphics of this game. Also, the constant, useless jumping between rooms really got on my nerves! After 2 "realms", you just knew that the rest of the game would follow the same routine. This game is not for me, but probably a good game for beginners, so I do recommend it!
I recommend this game!

I played about 20 minutes of the trial and decided against it. When I downloaded, I thought of a Russian adventure, and the introduction screen with the falling snow and Russian architecture really put me in the mood. Then I had to hear about a marriage crisis, had to get the kid off to the grandparents, collect pears for a tart ... It just dragged on. I wonder if they ever do get to Russia, especially because a lot of reviews say that this game is very short. The hidden objects are tiny a lot of times, and I don't see the point of using hint after hint. Sometimes, instructions are too vague - in the cluttered library, what am I looking for to open a stuck drawer? I can't see anyone enjoying this game, sorry!
This review is based on playing 45 minutes of the trial version. I really, really wanted to like this game because I love penguins, but I just couldn't stand their squeaky voices! Plus, for me, it was way too much random clicking around to find things that move and reveal a hidden item - not fun! A lot of the items are very small and hard to see, and the hint doesn't fill up fast enough. I finally gave up when I had to assemble the penguin skeleton in the classroom - way too tedious! It would be a nice game for kids, but it had so many spelling errors (broun flea, sockett) that I really can't recommend it for them. It's a pity, because this game has a lot of interesting ideas, but it just didn't work out!
I don't recommend this game.

I didn't care for this game. The music was so obnoxious! I'm not one to play a game in silence, though, so this is one major reason why I won't buy this game! Another is that I disliked gameplay mechanics. I would've enjoyed this type of graphics maybe 5 or 10 years ago, but now they just look dated. And even though I'm usually all about purchasing and finishing things within a game, I didn't see much motivation into putting 20 similar-looking trees on the planet. I didn't even get to see the cute little creature from the game icon! Also, there didn't seem to be a storyline at all. Sorry, but there are dozens of other match 3 games out there that offer much more!
This is definitely a good game for fans of the genre. I found it didn't hold my interest, probably because I'm not really into cars and didn't care all that much for the graphics. Game mechanics are very well thought out; there are a lot of things you can do in this game. You travel the world and fix up, paint, mod, tune ... different cars, build repair shops etc. As a reward for a well-played level, you earn coins to build a mansion. So if you like time management games, you should try this one!
In half an hour, I completed 2 out of 10 chapters of this game. Basically, you get 3 HO scenes per chapter, plus one very easy minigame. The HO scenes are junkpile, with no connection to the storyline whatsoever. A rubber duckie and a lawnmower in an ancient Egyptian tomb? The hint system was nice - instead of hints, you could use 1 to 5 credits for different hints (silhouette, picture of item, exact location). It would have been nice if one had gotten credit for using no hints at all (I like me a bit of challenge), but being as it is, I would not recommend this game, except for hardcore hidden object fans.
Well, with my name being Sandra, I couldn't help but try this game. I found it mildly entertaining, but nothing more, and won't purchase. The story sounded interesting, but I just couldn't get past the outdated graphics and all that out-of-sync talking of the (very cheesy) characters - and there's a lot of talking that you can't speed up. Plus, most of the minigames were way too easy and just chores instead of being a delightful diversion! In 40 minutes, I made it through 5 chapters and completed, according to the game, 26%, so I guess the length is decent. Recommended for newbies to the genre, but really, there are so many better games to start with!
