There hasn't been a game this well done in a very long time! The props, the scenery, the story and the style of art go together in the best possible way. It's a delight as each new scene opens and the form in which the minigames are presented are very creative. Am having to consciously stop and exit to make it last longer. Please, EIPix: this is the caliber we want to more of! Well done to the entire team!!!!
First off: I bought the game without trying because I really enjoy the games from Friendly Cactus. I enjoy their style of graphic illustration and their game mechanics work! Not a small feat these days! And the storyline picks up from the previous one. I am enjoying the interaction of amulet powers with inventory and objects. You need to act on objects in order to use them in inventory and in the story so, for me, the whole flows much better and makes sense. Am in this for fun and relaxation and I find this game interesting and engaging....and definitely want to find out what happens next: Am still in early stages of play. Map is good and guide is thorough. Would like custom mode in the future so that I can lose sparkles where I don't need them, but have low charging for skips. Not used very often, but there are those puzzles for which my brain is just not wired.

The very things that a number of reviewers disliked are exactly what I enjoyed the most....and I bought and played the complete game. The reasons they knocked it are why I bought it. I read reviews to see Why a person liked or disliked a game and often the review lets me know I'll enjoy it even if that reviewer didn't. The art and music in Daily Magic games are excellent. And I like that they are drawn/painted art. Am illustration fan: if I want a movie, I'll watch Netflix! I enjoy solving the steps of the quest. It's why I do these. Difficult is good...If I'm stuck I use the guide. If you like to figure things out from the pieces and info you collect you, like me, will enjoy this game.
Light-hearted and doesn't take itself too seriously! Funny dialog. Funny premise. Bought it just because it was Hallowe'en themed, not expecting much. This is not trying to be Dark Realms or League of Light. It is thoroughly enjoyable, smart, and with good play/tech. And unexpectedly laugh out loud! Grab it! Hope these guys do more!
I've read the criticisms .....it's a Collector's Edition: it has a Guide! Right there by the Inventory. The answers are there! The complaints of the hint system baffle me.
I bought the game so am in the middle of playing and had to comment. I like that it doesn't tell me all the answers. I try to deduce what's needed in a given spot....and when I get stuck I look in the guide; but more than half the time I stumble on the answer. What's needed here? what is the shape of the space? Then a bit later when I find the piece I come back to place it and advance the story. Really nice art and good voice over. I like the tweaks to the storyline.
That said, not all of the internal logic is, well, logical. There is a piece which is painted to appear as stone, but the magnet acquires it. Lateral thinking is good....just not at too great a distance.
I like games from this developer. I think critiquing from a demo is like critiquing a movie from a trailer.....just not going to be an accurate view. YMMV.
When your daughter, Emily, is taken over by a mysterious force, you must travel to the Nightmare Realm to search for a cure. But nothing could have prepared you for what you find there…
Quality of drawing and use of drawing as part of story! Using origami as integral to story. Depth of story. The tweaks to the puzzles to make them just a bit different. Even the credits are a treat. This is "Drawn" quality work. I am amazed and I loved it.
Picked this up on today's Daily Deal and am pleasantly surprised. Intriguing style. Would look for more titles from this developer: World Loom. Blended 3d and 2D well. Location off north UK different from usual. Am pleased with purchase and having fun with it.
I love in this style of graphic that revels in its drawn 2-D quality like a very good storybook. The mini-games have an extra bit of effort in their construction and have a choice to do the HO or a matching game. The voice-overs are very good. The developers have given that extra effort that makes a difference.
Have always enjoyed the graphics style of Youda Games. Drawn, and drawn well. They write a good tale, too. When searching out the coins along the way, the chest closes when you've found them all in a scene so you aren't aimlessly looking. And they play hard but fair in hiding them. It's relaxing and intriguing. Looking forward to their next!
