1- a high school reunion that takes place in a house entirely surrounded by water and fog would not be my choice for a reunion with friends 2- a reunion with only 6 in attendance is more like an intimate party than a "reunion"
If you can put aside the above, this is a really good game. The artwork is excellent and not whitewashed. This is a house enshrouded in fog, so it looks blanched. Aside from the video cut scenes, which are a bit blurry, everything else is sharp, clear, and well done.
It's a long game with moderately challenging puzzles and even ratio of HOPs. Sleuthing aspect is good, but not always obvious, but Hint & skip allowed even with expert mode game play.
It is a house that devours those who come into its premise, but no blood or gore. Those who enjoy a good challenge would love this game.
This is a good game, but by no means perfect, which is why it gets 4 instead of 5 stars from me.
Artwork is very good, except video cut scenes are not high def like I would like.
The story is good, but there are some incongruous aspects that don't make sense. It takes place in contemporary setting with 1970s VW van but the housekeeper for the mayor is dressed in full length dress from late 1800s?
Sleuthing aspect is good, but a few areas not obvious what next step should be. Make note that when your satchel bag which holds clues glows, you need to place the clues and evidence gathered onto the wall where it is sorted before you can proceed.
This game also employs the dual perspective mode of telling the story, where you hunt for clues as both a woman and the guy. The transition is explained at each juncture, so not confusing.
Not as many HOPs as I would have liked, but the ones present require interactions in order to obtain, some are hidden behind other objects, so can be tricky to find. Puzzles are mostly reasonable.
Overall, a really nice game to play. I like the contemporary setting and not taking place in gloomy haunted mansion. Look forward to more of this genre.
Loved this game. It really is a who-dunnit via solitaire.
You play 3 characters, each handling aspects of the case. You have choice of playing one up-one down, match 2 , or make sum of 14--choices are listed on the right and can be changed for any level at any time. After 8-10 levels, you read dialogue about the case or are shown evidence encountered in the case. Upon completion of all levels, you choose who you think murdered the bride. Even if you choose wrong, the case is laid out and explained as to who the murderer is.
The artwork is static, but really well done and nice to look at. In between levels there are HOPs (clutter style, with objects in silhouettes or colored objects, no word lists) or find matching card pairs while faced down (they call it a memory game).
The game provides tons of wild cards on each level. But there is no shop to purchase wild cards or usual power ups, except for buying an undo. There are only 2 choices for face cards, not a big deal to me, but if this is important to you--now you know.
The object of each level is to obtain GOLD cards (no face value), but certain number of gold cards are needed to get evidence or analysis of facts. Cards tied up in yellow tape are broken by clicking on warrant with badge (get it?).
One up-one down allows most control for clearing all cards on table. The other 2 versions of solitaire has increased chance of folding before all cards are cleared because cards dealt can be lousy. Every level also has cards that either bring you luck (an informant giving info) or bad luck (police car banged up).
The only thing I did NOT LIKE about the game is there is no opportunity to replay a level to get a perfect score (remove all cards on table). It doesn't really affect your progress, but it is different from most solitaire games.
The storyline is excellent and pretty clever. Loved the extra aspect of a who dunnit with HOP and match card games in between, which adds an extra dimension to otherwise vanilla solitaire game. Would love to see another who dunnit solitaire in the future, with improvements as noted.
The artwork for the game is great. The concept is great, but it's very repetitive and many aspects of the game are lame.
- the jigsaw puzzles interspersed between levels are the same puzzle each time, just the jigsaw pieces get smaller & more jigsaw pieces, but same image. BORING
- you get at least 10-12 choices for each furnishing to decorate the living room, but you only decorate one room and that's it.
- the items to furnish the LVR include a coffee table, side table, console table, lamps, sofa, arm chairs, and wall sconces. That's it. No flowers, paintings, curtains, carpets or rugs, interesting decorations
- You can redecorate the room as many times as you want, but there is no save feature to show the different arrangements attempted.
On the plus side, there are a variety of games featured, including mahjongg, jigsaw puzzles (2 varieties, rotate squares vs traditional jigsaw), match 3, match 2 pairs of cards facing down, HOP (silhouettes, list, find difference between 2 images, memorize the scene then find an item added x 12, find an object to sell to customer). There is a timer mode for all games, which only affects amount of bonus money earned.
There's good variety to games offered, but I found the HOPs got repetitive.
The concept is a good one, but the devs lack imagination to make game truly appealing for women who like to decorate.
The artwork really makes this game. You get 12 beautiful gardens as backdrop for the solitaire game, which is the GOLF variety.
There are 120 levels and you have to earn a certain number of stars to access a new garden. Completion of each garden level also earns you a trophy, which is displayed in a bookshelf. All gardens can also be saved as screensavers. The power ups in the Shop aren't really needed until 50% into the game. There is no story to speak of, just the solitaire game with background music and beautiful backdrop while playing. You also get multiple choices for face cards.
Note that when playing a level, you want to earn 3 stars and get rid of the ivy cards, number required is in upper right corner. Pay attention to that in order to earn 3 stars. You can earn 3 stars even without removing all cards on the table. Additionally, if you get rid of the requisite ivy cards without getting rid of enough cards, the game completes at 2 stars instead of 3 stars.
This game also doesn't have obstructions on cards like some solitaire games, eg no duct tape, thorns etc.
Very simple format game except for exception noted above. Good for people who like gardens and flowers, a treat to the eyes.
This is a hidden gem of a HOP game that doesn't get much exposure on BFG. Voiceovers--excellent Video cut scenes--excellent Story--very good. Easy to follow. Doesn't get bogged down in extraneous details that don't add to overall plot. The clues encountered are appropriate to overall game--a rarity. Puzzles--easy except for 1-2 HOPs--straightforward
I loved playing this game. There are a handful of moments where next action to take is not obvious, but overall, it is a well constructed game around an easy to follow plot. Artwork is nice to look at. Voices are appropriate and not annoying. Only fault of the game is it could be longer.
The artwork is top notch, as are the video cut scenes and voiceovers, but rest of the elements for a fantastic game are missing. It starts out great, with intriguing story, but devolves into mediocrity as the game progresses. There are more puzzles than HOPs, which is rather sparse. All but 2 puzzles are easy to solve. If the story were as good as the graphics, it would be an awesome game. Reluctantly I give the game 4 stars because the artwork made an average storyline, average puzzles and HOPs, more enjoyable. As always, judge for yourself.
The graphics are ghastly. Not terrible, but unappealing. The characters look robotic. Video cut scenes are not sharp and clear. Everything is in shades of brown-grey. Bleh!
Aside from that, the story, voiceovers, and fun factor are excellent.
HOPs are 2 variations: find items from list or put items back into the scene. 10% of the items in each HOP are hidden behind something or require an interaction to obtain.
Puzzles are straightforward and easy to solve.
Hard mode allows Hint, Skip, helpful messages and map telling you locations with active tasks, but no glimmers over HOPs or tutorial. I recommend using the map, because there are tasks scattered everywhere, some which you access near the end of game that you encountered at beginning of game. The map function is extremely helpful.
I gave the game a lower rating because I played Evil Inside, which is a far superior game to this one, but part of the series. If graphics aren't a big deal for you, this game has a lot to offer. To each his own.
I recommend this game!

PuppetShow: The Price of Immortality
Your friend vanishes after investigating the mysterious Theater of Emotions.
I've played other games in this series, but none are memorable. This game, however, is really well done.
Artwork is excellent, especially the characters. You even get to choose your avatar (3 choices). You get a helper in the form of a girl puppet doll who lights dark areas and go into small spaces to fetch items.
Voiceovers are believable.
Good balance of HOPs and puzzles. Just right amount of challenge.
Quite a long game to play, with a lot to do. Sleuthing aspect is fun and logical.
Story is a bit macabre, but easy to follow and interesting.
