This game is pretty blah. The HOS look like they were made in 2010, and the game drags. Just a quickie review to warn those of you to TRY this game before you buy it. I didn't buy it.
This is a beautiful game with top-notch voice-acting and truly original gameplay (really, I didn't need to oil a darn door until deep into the bonus chapter of the CE!) and cinematic cutscenes.
Also, SURPRISE! A racially diverse cast of characters!
If you're looking for a traditional pile of trash to dig through, this isn't your game. All the HOPs were more subtle and nuanced...and a lot of fun. The puzzles were challenging to a degree...I mean, they must have been, I don't think I've ever played a HOG for more that 8 hours straight.
I had zero expectations (seriously, what a dumb name for a game), and I was blown away. Get this!
Based on entire play-through of CE, including bonus chapter, I HIGHLY recommend getting the CE, as the story does not fully resolve until the end of that story...
This blew me away, it was mostly puzzles with only a few HOPs--which I like, though the detail in the images was stunning. I love puzzles, but I need a good story to keep it going, and this game definitely did that. It has similar elements to Dark Realm, but wow--this is less a Nevertales than it is the start of an entirely new series.
Without hesitation, play this game, and put it first on your queue!
