A big part of game playing, for me, is the music. This game was like listening to Fugazo's Greatest Hits as I recognized many of the songs from previous World Mosaics and that made it an instant buy. This game is more challenging and I appreciated that. i learned how to do these puzzles from this developer and although I enjoy more difficult ones now, this was relaxing without being boring. The games are now scored differently so I didn't use the hint button as much as the previous ones since I was playing against myself. Guys, in future games you've got to lose the big red X though...it makes me feel like I've been stupid in school! Fortunately I haven't made that many errors (yet). Anyway, try it if you like a mixture of music: it's mostly melancholy but I'm Romani and love the violins and the story line seems fine. Looking forward to number 7!
I recommend this game!

I usually do not enjoy voice overs because I can read faster than the voices but this is such an interesting game. The actors are wonderful (I like the way Detective Logan Green holds his head in frustration) and there is a good group of characters, some of them off-beat and humorous. Some may think it easy (I've been able to do the mini-games and I'm usually not good with them) but this is a perfect game to spend a chilly Sunday morning as an indulgence after a stressful week. Thanks so much!
I recommend this game!

I'm still playing this game because the storyline is excellent, the music terrific (there are several songs but the composer has changed the tempo in them so one time it sounds jazzy, one time almost-classical, etc.), it's challenging yet relaxing, and works perfectly on W7. Better than the first one!

This is a wonderful game! Absolutist also gave us Green Moon several years ago, a game I thought was right up there with some of the best (although there was no skip button for puzzles). The puzzles in this game seem to be do-able and there is a good walkthrough. A must-try!
I recommend this game!

Nice reviews are already written, so I just want to encourage those who are unable to complete the game. Yay! I finished it today! Bought the game when it first came out (a year or more ago?) and have intermittently downloaded, played, uninstalled, downloaded, played...I'm not good at strategy and get very impatient when it seems that there are only two more spaces to move the balls, but this time I just hung in there and suddenly I was at the last level and then it was over! The music is monotonous but I found my head bobbing along with it so I always kept it on. Despite my problems with strategy, I still found it relaxing in a perverse way! To me, it is a waste when hidden objects are added to a Match 3 game and I don't really like to switch gears, especially with a game that is intense (for my level). I think the great thing about Big Fish is that they hold our games and in a year or so it is always fun to reinstall a game and then discover that it is actually easier than the first time played, or even more fun. So if you were unable to finish this, or any other game, keep trying!
I recommend this game!

Woo-hoo, we’re back in Norrkoping, Sweden with my favorite virtual friends of all time: Carol Reed, Jonas, Bigge, Stina! Having played all the games except one, I believe I’d recognize them anywhere (the developers and family and friends play the roles). They look like us, normal (!) with sometimes messy houses and studios where one can practically smell the linseed oil. The scenery and the buildings are actual photographs of Norrkoping, adding a dimension of reality to the entire game. So get on your hiking boots and be ready to search for the Blue Madonna …
It’s a great Adventure game for newbies in that it includes a hint system, a painless way to save, a helpful walkthrough, and a terrific story line. I always learn lots of historical facts in all the games and enjoy the subtle humor. There are almost always ornamental box puzzles (sigh…one day I’ll do them perfectly without checking the WT), lots of clues to help Carol solve the murder, and a great map to orient oneself if, like me, you have a tendency to get lost.
I’m hoping for a new game because I have replayed all of the Carol Reed games several times and I’m ready for the next one!
I recommend this game!

The other night I had a dream that my sons and I were in the mansion from Scratches and they had a huge wrench (ah, the ubiquitous wrench) and were trying to open the secret door in the fireplace. I knew there was a monster down there and I was trying to stop my sons from going and didn’t know what to do, so I woke up! That is how profoundly affected I’ve been from this game which I’ve played twice. It is truly suspenseful and I have the clenched jaw to prove it.
There are just two problems: one is the 360 effect that doesn’t bother me but will probably make some people dizzy. The other is the access violations that periodically appeared. I liked the game so much that I just shut it down and then opened the game and continued where I left off.
Everything else is wonderful. The game takes place inside and outside the mansion, so it is never tedious. I really like the main character’s voice, the graphics (although some may feel that they are too dark), the story line (what a surprise toward the end), the additional story that continues a few years later, and everything else about the game including the tasks that are quite do-able for the not-so-experienced Adventure gamer
So if you don’t mind a few minor problems, it is well worth the money and time. I’m Romani (Gypsy) and my gran always told me to look out the window after waking from a bad dream and you will not remember it . I forgot to do that but if you dream of the game, don’t forget!
I recommend this game!

Many of us play games for different reasons. The obvious one is to simply play: click, seek, find, solve. Some of us probably like the challenge, but want more. I like the story line, the characters, the scenery, and the resolution of the character’s problem. Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches absolutely fulfilled my needs to enjoy a game.
Not having much experience in the Adventure genre, I have bought and been unable to finish some of them. Therefore, my first requirement is to have a walk through (well, actually, I need my hand held) and there is an excellent one provided by the game developers. So the game’s afoot and I dive into it looking at the beautiful graphics, listening to the terrific music, but what’s this? Wonderful characters—all named Rhiannon-- from different eras (far out, a 60’s Rhiannon with her psychedelic diary!), a modern Rhiannon who starts out as a whining teen but develops into an overwhelmed, but intelligent teen reaching out for help, and a very innocent Rhiannon who is happy in her marriage until…well, you need to play to find out.
Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches, based on the Welsh Mabinogion tales, has incredible puzzles, a working navigational map, interesting diaries, books and magazines to read and an underlying sense of humor as the modern world melds with the old. A caution: Fleetwood Mac’s Rhiannon buzzed through my head for a week (although it’s not heard in the game but it appears on the MP3 player!). But they’re one of my favorite groups so that was an additional and welcome by-product.
So if you want to be immersed in a magical culture that transcends time, then this is the game. It is like opening up a fantastic novel but suddenly falling into the pages and becoming part of the story!
I recommend this game!
