I purchased this as soon as my trial expired and have played this game in its entirety twice. I like many things about this game but the first thing I'll mention is that it tells you at the end of the game how long it took! The first time took me an accumulated 19 hours (had to redo several levels) and the second time took only 11 (only ran out of time on 2 levels).
I read a lot of the reviews of this game and I question those who think it's "boring". After all, aren't all games repetitive to some degree? 4 Elements II has a few puzzles and hidden object challenges sprinkled between to drive the story or add variety, but for me, I just wanted to get past those and start crunching tiles!! I'm not wild about hidden object games in the first place, however it's minimal in this game. So for those of you who want a hidden object game, this is NOT it. In fact, it's not really a Match 3 game in the traditional sense. It's more of a "chain-matching" game which is just what I was looking for since previously I was into Jewelanche but wanted a game that could be on my computer, not an online game at the mercy of my internet.
Music is the unsung hero for me in any game and I often find myself tired of your average game music after a short time, but 4 Elements II has BEAUTIFUL music. I particularly enjoy the music in the "Fire" chapter. And the graphics, as most have mentioned are first-rate.
The levels get progressively more difficult. I found the timer to be generous for most levels. Those reviewers who complained about the Timer can disengage it in "Options" by selecting "Relaxed Mode". The only time I got into trouble with the Timer was when I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. But for me, racing against time makes it exciting. Also, it is important not only to keep in mind the object of the game but to also understand that there are weapons that have to be activated in order for you to progress and you must strategically remove tiles in order for them to do what they must or you're simply going to be busting tiles for the sake of busting tiles and in that case I would agree, that IS boring! Keeping the bigger picture in mind, using a little strategy, working efficiently and making sure the tools are powered up keeps it engaging and challenging for me.
PUZZLES: there were a few times when the Stone Blocks would just baffle me. I had no problem with the Pipes at all, but the Blocks? Every time I'd see one and I couldn't get around it, I would sigh and struggle! And I believe Level 49 has a Block Puzzle that is actually unsolvable. Fortunately you don't need to go through that one, just use the Spade tool to crunch through the tile underneath it and you're home-free.
This game is well worth the money, even at full price, especially when I consider the many many hours of entertainment it has provided thus far! But if you can get it on sale, even better!
I recommend this game!

First off, I have to say that I haven't been through the entire game yet. I am only at Stage 5-2 in the Adventure and I have done the Puzzles up to 18. But I wanted to let everyone know that right-clicking alternates the color of the spheres in your shooter. You absolutely cannot get through some of the puzzles without knowing this. And dumb me... I work on a Mac and I generally have the "right-click" disengaged on my Apple Magic Mouse as it sometimes interferes with my work... so it took me a while to figure out that I had to reinstate that action. But it is necessary and makes the whole game so much more enjoyable, even the regular shooting levels but especially the Puzzles.
It's fast-paced and challenging. My only complaint is that there is a little too much lag time as the game and each level starts. I am not much interested in the name/number of the level... I just want to start shooting! The music is wonderful, perfect for the action of the game, but I wish there was a little more variation in it as it's a little repetitive.
Oh, and I have gotten stuck on a couple of puzzles, but there's a lot of help online from experienced gamers on YouTube. Just type in the Puzzle number and Luxor 3 and you're sure to find some help. Thanks to all you experienced gamers!
All in all, a terrific game and though I may not play it for extended periods of time, I find myself launching it for 15 or 20 minutes everyday. I just LOVE it!!
