This was an average-length game with above-average graphics and somewhat poor choices in voice-overs.
The mini-games and HO scenes were enjoyable at times, but were definitely easy. I like a relaxing game that doesn't strain my brain, so I had it on the easy setting. You could choose between easy and hard on each individual mini-game. Perhaps the hard setting presented more of a challenge.
The storyline wasn't awful, but it was muddled at times and not an attention-grabber.
Everyone's tastes are different, so maybe this is the game for you. It just wasn't the one for me. Try the demo and maybe you'll love it... or not. :)
This game was a joy to play. Our favorite fairy tale characters come to life in this HOP adventure. And as another reviewer mentioned, one bears a striking resemblance to its counterpart in the tv show, Once Upon a Time.
The mini-games were varied and many of the HO scenes were as well. The main story and the bonus chapter are both very long and worthy of a Collector's Edition. Great voiceovers, realistic colors and nice graphics complete the picture.
I enjoyed the game and was happy to play a straight-up mystery rather than the usual supernatural storyline.
Wish that the devs would make it where you could go back and find collectibles you missed along the way. Also, one collectible gift was positioned where it was impossible to click on it without clicking the arrow to leave the scene, making it impossible to earn all the achievements. Due to this, I deducted one star from the overall review.
This is the most imaginative HO game I've played this year. Great story, a variety a puzzles and decisions that actually effect the outcome of the game.
Kudos to Grandma games! I hope other devs pay attention.
I thought this was a very nice game with a redeeming, if far-fetched, storyline. It was a relief not to play the typical demon of the week.
It had lovely graphics, HOPs and mini-games related to the story and animals galore. Truly, a delight. The gameplay was on the easy side (no complaints here) and the collectibles (Puffins and morphing objects - two of each per scene) were mostly easy to spot.
I really enjoyed the game and look forward to more offerings from 4 Friends Games.
This fabulous game is tops in every department.. awesome graphics with a beautiful color palette, fantastic storyline, excellent ratio of puzzles to HOPs, and great voice-overs. Domini has outdone themselves.
This game ranks tops in every department. It has a great storyline, fantastic voice-overs, fun puzzles and the most gorgeous graphics I've seen in a HOPA game.
Did I say the graphics were fabulous?? That's an understatement. Really, folks, this dev raised the bar on this one. Even if you don't purchase, you should try it out and see what a beautiful game really looks like. If you even give it a try, I would bet the bank that you'll wind up with it in your permanent inventory!
What an excellent take on the Snow White story! I love the Dark Romance series and this game is my favorite of them all.
In Dark Romance fashion, you play two characters throughout the game... King William and Princess Lily. Transition between the two characters is seamless and the story flows in a logical way. The puzzles are varied, as are the HO scenes.
The graphics are beautiful and the voice acting, for the most part, is good. One exception is King William's mother. Her voiceover is really bad. That's literally the only thing I could find wrong with the game, but it's such a small part that it's easy to look past that one flaw. I'm sure others could find more to complain about, but the game was near perfection for me.
This is definitely worth the CE price tag. There is bling galore and numerous achievements to earn.
This is a fabulous game! It's a hardcore old-style detective game with supernatural elements. The game had a great storyline, impressive graphics and voice-acting and it flowed seamlessly. The gameplay actually made sense. The puzzles and HO scenes were intuitive and advanced the game by providing clues/objects. My favorite game by far!
I hope all developers sit up and take notice of the positive response to this new genre. Thanks Mad Head, for taking the lead and giving us a truly one of a kind game that leaves you wanting more. It was like being part of a movie.
This was a very fun game with a good storyline and very imaginative puzzles. Definitely not run of the mill!
The HO scenes were interactive and there was not an overabundance of them (which I love, because I'm more of a mini-game fan).
There were collectable portrait pieces which are used later to piece together a character book,
The only negative was occasionally the voice-overs would fade out before the character was finished speaking. If you weren't paying close attention, you could miss part of the dialogue.
This game has everything you could wish for and the bonus chapter was of a nice length and is a prequel to the main story.
