This game's storyline is appealing to me. The eternal fight of Good vs. Evil taken to the Nth degree - The dichotomy of the human condition. (A real tribute to Kant and the Gnostics.) The plot is strong throughout the story, building to a stunning conclusion. But my college psychology courses aside...
I played the demo and hesitated to purchase the game because it seemed like it would be very short. Glad I reconsidered. It was worth the credit and it was short but not very short. Played Expert with a relaxed attitude and finished in about 3 hours. HOGs galore, which just happened to hit my happy spot. Very clear, which I really appreciated. Decent graphics, especially no dark-on-dark scenes. I actually listened to the soundtrack which was appropriately anxiety-producing. Linear game with some back-track but not to the degree you see in some HOGs. A few scenes are reused for hidden objects. Great game for beginners and for total relaxation.
All told, a good HOG game with enjoyable play and a great storyline. Would love a much longer game.
[I (embarrassingly) fell in love with the narrative doll and really would like to have one.]
I recommend this game!

This one hit on almost every button. Rather linear but I still enjoyed playing. Could be a little longer or more complex. But the graphics were superb, No dark holes, most everything was bright and clear and well hidden. Other games should take a note. Some of the best HO scenes I've played. Interesting story supported by the game. All in all a super nice experience.
I recommend this game!

Zen Games
Drift away and have fun with the classic Japanese board games Hexajong and Ishidoku in a relaxing new environment.
First off, I must admit I adore ishidoku. I may even be addicted to it. And this is the only major game I have found that includes so many wonderful levels. It was a logic-lovers utopia. I also enjoy hexajong, so this was a double joy for me.
Graphics are excellent, even in the level 6 ishidoku where there is a 4 X 4 X 4 grid. I can't say anything about the music because I turned it off. One complaint is that some of the hexajong games are impossible to win, even after playing up to 20 redeals. It is a small thing but it would be nice to have a chance to win instead of being thwarted from the beginning because of the lay of the tiles.
Love the game and would like to see further levels.
I recommend this game!

Snark Busters
Join Kira Robertson as she sets out to find the Snark, an elusive creature few people have seen and no one has caught!
Steampunk fun for everyone. Beautiful graphics. Decent music (I actually listened to it!) Just a fun romp through a fantastical world. I'm definitely going to continue with the rest of the series.
Unusual in concept and realization. It may not be hugely challenging but it was fun all the way through.
I recommend this game!

Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors
Help Stan Riddle escape the Haunted Manor! After being trapped by the Lord of Mirrors, Stan needs you to guide him to safety!
A bit different than the original Azada, but equally as enjoyable. The challenge level is higher than the original. More thinking required and planning out some of the solutions was absolutely necessary.
Storyline is a bit weak but supported the book concept. Also a set-up for a sequel. Visuals were mostly superb, even to the point of finding writing pens without magnification. My only ding on visuals is the card evaluation section. Finding the symbols was difficult for my eyes and at some points became a guessing game.
Another great puzzler.
I recommend this game!

Azada ®
What is Azada ™? Uncover the secret in the missing pages of an enchanted book and break free from a magical puzzle prison.
If a puzzle has a timer, it is normally a no-buy. I am really glad I took a chance on this game. It is just a wonderful fit with my expectations of a good puzzle game. I even found the timer a plus as it forced me to think before I played.
If you enjoy the mini-games in HO games, welcome to Azada.
I recommend this game!

Graphics a bit dark in places, a few non-intuitive uses of articles, one difficulty level, decent mini-games, really could have used a voice-over and a good map.
Storyline really disappointed me. Won't be specific but it seems to be a set-up for a sequel.
Pleasant enough for gameplay but don't expect "War and Peace".

...or you will miss some of the best of the game, IMHO.
The Ice Rose storyline is nothing "new and improved" but it is a good, solid adventure HO. (We really need to come up with some name classifications for these different HOs) One nice factor, for me at least, is the lead character is a strong female who is out to kick butt whether her weak and wimpy boyfriend deserves it or not.
Very nice graphics with no problem for these old eyes to find items in HO scenes. Nice little hidden puzzles in HO also. I am not a fan of music in a game because it inevitably becomes repetitive so I have no opinion of that factor. I would have liked a bit more sound effects and ambient noises. And this game, like most in the search and do genre, ends up with the lead character running back and forth.
Ice Rose is a nice game with no especially difficult puzzles. Even playing the hard profile, sparkles indicate HO areas. I enjoyed the 6+ hours as I lolly-gagged through the game. In all, it was a pleasant game and I am glad I purchased the CE (which is very unusual for me).
I recommend this game!

Mountain Crime: Requital
Someone is killing the guests at a mountain resort, and you could be next if you don't figure out the mystery and solve a Mountain Crime!
...for such a good game. My main complaint was the confusion of the story writers. I felt many things were just left hanging or lacked any sort of logical thought. Plus the game play is extremely linear; you see a clue you know you will need but cannot pick it up until you read some document or visit another locale, etc.
The game play is wonderful. All items are clear in hidden object portions. A bit of running to and fro but the puzzles and mini-games are very entertaining. Graphics are very good and add a lot of enjoyment to the game. Sound and voice effects were quite good until the end of the game when the voices quit synching with the action and characters. It wasn't a technical problem but a programming problem.
This had the basis of a great game. But I don't think the plot writers did justice to the sound/graphics/gaming editors. I bought the game with a free coupon so I am not really out any money. I might be rather biffed if I had paid full price.
