I have always enjoyed the Haunted Hotel series and while some installments have faltered, Lost Time reminds me of some of the better games in this series. I always recommend trying the demo and here is a pros and cons list.
Pros:
- Fantastic graphics and audio. Some of the best I've seen from Elephant.
- Story has just enough twists to make it more than a rehash of past plots
- Character designs and movements are great!
- Good, fast pace
- Love the creative concept behind this hotel (it's a spa that drains the life of its guests but it also has some romance)
Cons
- The biggest con for me was the extreme lack of any difficulty. I breezed through all the puzzles and hidden object scenes without any brain power. While this adds to the pace, it leaves out any satisfaction of completing a difficult puzzle or actually needing to search for the objects.
- This hotel is haunted, so we need some actual paranormal events to place (maybe some jumpscares????)
I recommend this game!

I haven't had a Puppetshow game blow my mind since Price of Immortality, and Fatal Mistake does not come close to that game's quality, but nonetheless this game was still enjoyable. The game is pretty short even with the bonus chapter, but that is also due to the quick pace which I liked. Of course, I always recommend to play the demo to decide if this game is right for you. Below is a pros and cons list to organize my thoughts.
Pros:
- Fantastic audio and graphics as in every AMAX game. The cyborgs especially looked great!
- Good pace
- Bonus chapter actually added to the story and was not a random mystery/assignment for the detective that didn't relate to the main story
- The main twist of the game actually surprised me a little which almost never happens
- No overused tropes such as needing a pin to unzip a backpack (that I remember)
- Storyline had enough twists to make it semi-original
- Loved the steampunk atmosphere
Cons
- Storyline not completely original - scientist made a mistake, so it's up to us to save the world...again
- Puzzles were too easy
- Entering a code that is given to you does not count as a puzzle
- Some back and forth but the quick pace made it bearable
- Most of the hidden object scenes were lists with some interactivity
- Hidden object scenes are used more than once (some people don't mind, but I find this annoying since most of the time it was just two list scenes in a row)
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed this game more than the last Domini game with significant improvements in pace and originality. There are honestly not many big problems with this game and is overall a great game. As usual, I will organize my thoughts into a pros and cons list.
Pros:
- Beautiful graphics and audio with fun clickables in every scene
- Plenty of actions to complete in each scene
- Well varied Hidden object scenes including matching and finding the pattern
- Solid pace throughout the game, not too slow
- There is a easy/hard difficulty button within puzzles, so you can modify the puzzle challenges
- Characters are very well animated
- No annoying gadgets that impede gameplay
Cons
- Puzzles are not very original and majority of them are too easy even on hard difficulty
- There is a lot of back and forth between areas which slows down the pace a lot
- The story feels a lot like a wild goose chase as the antagonist throws in several obstacles to stop our progress
- There are many repeated actions such as tying back curtains with rope or cutting glass with a ring which shows lack of creativity
Remember, this is solely my opinion, so I always recommend to try the demo before buying!
I recommend this game!

Domini Games always delivers when it comes to colorful, detailed graphics and superb gameplay; however, this game for me story-wise did not meet the usual expectations. Below is a brief pros and cons list to see if this game is right for you.
Pros
- Fantastic graphics and music with fun clickables in each scene
- The difficulty of minigames can be changed which satisfies puzzle lovers and haters as well as different levels of experience in HOPA
- HOS are varied such as silhouettes, finding objects that match a pattern, and classic lists with interactive objects
- I love the talking animals and their designs
- No gadgets that inhibit positive gameplay
Cons
- The biggest obstacle for this game is originality, and this applies to different aspects of the game.
- Actions are repeated several times such as having to clear pollen and dust with brooms and fans, breaking locks on chests, and finding missing pieces of snake tails
- The story itself is a standard lost in a new world, so now you cannot leave until you solve its problems
- Original puzzle ideas are also lacking, but they do fit the theme of the game.
- The pace of the game is very slow and lacks any sense of urgency at all due to the constant back and forth between scenes. Even the teleport map does not help increase the pace in the slightest.
I would truly rate this game a 3.5 and keep in mind that this is solely my own opinion, and this game did not fit my tastes, but that does not mean that this is a terrible game by a long shot. It is beautifully crafted, and I would highly suggest trying the game first before making the decision to purchase or pass. Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

It’s been a while since I have reviewed a game, so I wanted to start back again with this spectacular game! Mad Head always delivers on this science fiction series, and this one takes the cake! Although the level of challenge in this game was too easy for my taste, I am still rating this game five stars because the game kept me engaged and entertained the entire time I was playing. I prefer to organize my thoughts and opinions into a pros and cons chart, please note that my preferences will differ from other players.
Pros:
- Graphics and Audio perfectly mix to create an out of this world atmosphere!
- Creative, original storyline
- Cutscenes are like mini movies!
- Changes from the beta really improved the game
- Game is engaging and we satisfy all levels of players
- HOS were varied and puzzles were original
Cons:
- Puzzles are too easy for advanced players
- Bonus Chaper is short and does not expand on the story
I recommend this game!

Detectives United is a new series from one of our top developers in the HOPA genre, Elephant Games. Wow! What a great start to a new series! This game has it all, challenging puzzles, a fantastic, original storyline, references to Elephant’s other series, and much more! My true rating is 4.5, but I rounded it up to five because I love the main characters from Haunted Hotel, Grim Tales, and Mystery Trackers series! I’m going to review this game a bit differently than usual, which means instead of providing a pros and cons list, I will divide my review up into multiple sections, focusing on why I rated the categories above, the way I did.
Fun Factor: Overall, this game was a very entertaining game to play with many different obstacles to overcome. The end of the demo portion of the game really hooked me up, which left me craving for more! We also have the Collector taunting us and impeding our progress throughout the game. I rated fun factor 4 out of 5 because the pace is slow at different times throughout the game because there is a lot of back and forth before a main event happens which seems to be the formula for many current HOPA games.
Visual and Sound Quality: Elephant always delivers on their visual and sound production from their beautiful yet ominous graphics to their original soundtrack for this new series. I do wish the detective you play as had voiceover when they were discussing ideas with the other two sleuths, but it was just an extra detail that was not there. Overall, Elephant’s production deserves all 5 points!
Level of Challenge: Detectices United: Origin has a nice variety of challenging and easy puzzles with a few puzzles that are original, but most of them are boring rotational, matching, or guess the order puzzles that are not creative. I skipped some puzzles because I did not feel like having to rotate more puzzles or they were so complex that they took forever. I wish developers would implement a easy or hard difficulty button, so players could have two options of how to play a puzzle. In my opinion, there were way to many HOS that were silhouettes and the mini HOS throughout the game were unnecessary and were one of the causes for the slow pace. I loved the puzzles where we had to make the pipe pieces to make different designs. I found that puzzling challenging, creative, and fun.
Storyline: Although the idea of a man trying to save his dead or dying family is unoriginal, the idea of finding specific jewels to create a reality altering device makes the story a bit more creative. Players get to revisit past locations such as Black Isle, Silent Hollow, Raincliff, and what was the Lexington hotel, now called the Freedom Hotel, from the tenth installment of Haunted Hotel. I love Anna Gray, Agent Brown, and James Blackthorne teaming up, which was the main reason I decided to try this game out!
I hope this review helps any possible buyers or tryers of this game! I usually put my favorite game from the series I am reviewing, but since this game is starting, I decided to include my favorite game by Elephant.
I recommend this game!

We have three more souls in another edition of Redemption Cemetery! Overall, I found this installment to be pretty enjoyable with a few flaws, however, these flaws do not wreck the entirety of the gaming experience.
Amax Interactive always delivers on the production of graphics. They are crisp, clean, and are beautifully hand drawn. The audio is obviously recycled from past editions of this series, so it does not add to the quality of the game. I’ve actually heard some of the sound effects that Amax uses in horror movies!

The level of challenge is actually solid because of the option to change the difficulty of the puzzles and there is a good mix of challenging and more relaxed puzzles. The HOS are boring and the scenes are recycled, which demonstrates a lack of creativity and decreases the fun factor. The pace, however, is consistent and fast, which is my favorite.
My true rating is 3.5, but I decided to round it up to 4 because of the Day of the Dead theme and fun collectibles that have fun facts about Mayan Gods. The following the list contains all of the positives and negatives. Please note that reviews are subjective, so they are opinion based. My preferences will be different than other players.
Pros:
- Graphics are fantastic!
- Storyline is understandable and easy to follow. We don’t get too many Day of the Dead stories.
- Pace is quick and consistent.
- Some puzzles have an option to change the difficulty, and there is a good mix of challenging and easy.
- Raven helper is not annoying and will please helper lovers and haters.
- Collectibles contain fun facts which I like to read!
Cons:
- HOS scenes are boring and recycled
- Characters are stiff when they talk. Only their mouths move and mouthing else.
- Dialogue choices don’t effect the game.
- Puzzles are not original and are boring.
I recommend this game!

I have never fully played or bought a Lost Lands game because this series never managed to hold my interest, but this game blew me away! I decided to try Mistakes of the Past because I heard a lot of positive feedback on Ice Spell, the game before this one. I’m glad I did!
The awe-inspiring graphics, combined with the orginal, complex story, creative puzzles and HOS, and the fantastic visual effects make this an entertaining game to play! Although the puzzles are more towards the easier side of the difficulty spectrum, they are incredibly creative and different than the boring rotating or lock code puzzles. The HOS are silhouette, find and use scenes with many zoom in scenes and puzzles to solve. The cutscenes are beautiful and cinematic, and I love how the dialogue switch’s back and forth between the characters who are talking like medium close ups in a movie. The following list contains my thoughts, both positive and negative, about this game.
Pros:
- Beautiful Graphics and audios that creates mythical forests and temples as well as a Dystopian kingdom.
- Pace is consistent throughout the game.
- The cutscenes use visual effects to make them more cinematic!
- Camera angles switch back and forth between the characters who are talking.
- HOS are complex which adds some difficulty
- Puzzles are very creative!
- The time traveling gimmick adds quality to the game because it is not annoying and plays a key part in the story.
- Storyline is original and creative! It is not a cookie cutter recycled story.
- I Love the arachnoid!
Cons:
- Puzzles are too easy
Misc:
- I wish the arachnoids appeared more often to hinder Susan’s progress in her quest.
- The poison powder puzzle instructions are confusing
I recommend this game!

I know this game has been out for a while, but I would still like to submit my perspective on this game. Overall, Embodiment of Evil is an improvement compared to past installments in this series when it comes to the fun factor and storyline. As usual, we have three more souls to save as well as a light wolf that was turned evil because of a mistake made thousands of years ago. Although the idea of a monster lurking in a cemetery is recycled, the indivudual situations for the souls are more creative than past games in this series including finding a cure for an entire when the only doctor left is infected, destroying an amulet that corrupted a witch, saving a police officer’s wife, and stopping a madman’s carnival themed “game.” This game is on the easier side, which is great for beginner and intermediate players. This game will also appeal more to fans of having a greater number of HOS. Amax Interactive provides their incredible, crisp, and detailed graphics that we see in all of their games. I did not play the bonus chapter because it seemed boring and uninteresting. The following list of pros and cons points out and explains different aspects of the game I liked and did not like.
Pros:
- Beautiful, graphics that create the dark atmosphere of the cemetery and other locations.
- Although the storyline is recycled, Amax puts their own spin on it that gives it a breath of fresh air.
- The pace is consistent throughout the game.
- The cutscenes add to the suspense of the game, especially in the first soul’s world while Simon is playing his game of torture.
- HOS have a good variety of lists, silhouettes, narratives, etc.
Cons:
- Sound effects and music are recycled from past games.
- HOS are used twice and too easy
- Puzzles are boring and too easy as well
- All of the characters pronounce “Kyrkogrimm” differently which is a continuity error.
I recommend this game!

Overall, this was a solid installment in the Fear for Sale series from Elefun Games. This game is not perfect, nor is it better than past games in this series, but Tiny Terrors does provide a satisfactory amount of entertainment because it has a unique storyline that is different than other horror lite games about dolls. Elefun still delivers on their fantastic, clean, and crisp graphics throughout the game, and they even add in amusing clickables in case you are like me and want to explore every inch of the screen. The main negative for me about this game is the lack of difficulty in all of the puzzles. I never skipped a single puzzle because I finished most of them in under 2 minutes with an occasional puzzle that took me around 5 minutes to solve. My true rating is a 3.5, but I rounded it up to 4 stars for the creative storyline and breathtaking graphics and soundtrack. As usual with my style of reviews, I provide a list of positives and negatives about the game. Please note that reviews are subjective, so my positives may be another player’s negatives.
Pros:
- The Graphics and Audio create an ominous atmosphere with a hint of suspense for what is to come
- The storyline is mostly original, is explained throughout the game, and is easy to understand
- The cute dolls carrying knives creates a chilling contrast between cuteness and blood thirsty toys
- The pace is solid throughout, it slows down a tiny bit when Emma is fixing the boat at the old train/gas station
- Emma herself has voiceover for her dialogue which is an extra detail that many games lack currently
Cons:
- Too many HOS in my opinion, but this may appeal to players who prefer more HOS
- HOS scenes are recycled which shows a lack of creativity or laziness to create a fresh new scene.
- HOS are not varied - most of them are finding highlighted words in a narrative that sometimes has voiceover
- Puzzles and HOS are very easy, but this may appeal to more beginner and intermediate players
I recommend this game!
