This game from Floodlight & BFG has some wonderful puzzles, many of which are different from the usual pipes, sliders, etc & some of them are extremely difficult but there is a skip button if you get too frustrated. In addition the hidden objects are also a good mix of different ways to solve, for instance you may have to find four items but have to solve a puzzle within the scene to open a box to get another word list.
The graphics are crystal clear & the artwork is stupendous, the scenes are so well drawn. There is a voiceover during the cut scenes & you can skip the dialogue but try not to be tempted as some of it is amusing. The scenes filled my widescreen nicely.
You will get a journal which tells the story, has clues & gives a task list; in addition the task list can be found on the inventory bar. Sometimes it can be quite hard to figure out what to do though so I did quite a lot of tracking to & from scenes, there is no map. The hint button is not available in scenes where there is no action to perform.
There are two modes of play; casual with lots of sparkles, you start with 5 hints & they recharge in 20 seconds or expert, no sparkles for 15 to 20 seconds & then you get a glint which gets brighter if you have not clicked on an item. Here you get 3 hints recharging in 60 seconds.
The music wasn’t very memorable & rather repetitive & the background noises were in keeping with the game.
I recommend this game!

I don't normally get anything other than hidden object games but this little gem is a treat for Halloween.
The graphics are crystal clear, the music suits the theme, you get to decorate a spooky house & give kids sweeties when they come to the door & best of all there is no timer.
Love it

I wish I could have enjoyed this game as much as others have but honestly I never finished it; I got bored before I got close to the finish.
Yes, it had fabulous graphics & was atmospheric with good music & voiceovers. However the hidden object scenes were really cluttered, normally I would put up with this if the game is enjoyable but it just added to my dislike. The hint button was not a lot of use so I spent a great deal of time wandering around aimlessly wondering what to do next & in the end I couldn’t be bothered to go back through all the scenes yet again.
I don't recommend this game.

This game from Gogii has a great storyline, Melissa is an ex cat burglar whose son is kidnapped & she has to go back to her former occupation for one last time. The voiceovers are good & there is a skip button for the cut scenes; the music is pretty repetitive.
The graphics are a little dated so not as crisp as games recently released but they are still pretty good & the scenes are full of detail.
There are a lot of Hidden Objects in two styles, one is the usual word list & the other is where you click on an area where there is a magnifying glass & have to find various objects identified from silhouettes to make something; for instance a ladder. Once you have found all these then you can move on to another scene or perform a specific task. At the end of each chapter you have to crack a safe, there are five; there is a skip button. Also after each chapter you can dress Melissa in different disguises.
In Casual mode the objects are identified by the cursor turning into a hand but in Advanced it does not; if you click too many times without finding something your cursor will be locked for a few moments. The hint recharges in 30 seconds for both modes of play.
One tiny bug; when I played Casual mode the hint button did not work for the first few H0 scenes but after I played in Advanced for a while & went back to the easier mode to see what happened the hint button then worked. It took me just under 4 hours to play so is a good length.
I recommend this game!

This is a Hidden Object / Find the Difference from BrandX Games in which you earn money to buy constellations from a Zodiac map which is available once you have completed the first ‘bonus’ level. The price of each constellation is a combination of money & stars; if you purchase all 12 then an extra bonus level can be played at the end of the game.
There are two types of main gameplay, one is H0 where for each item found you earn cash – beware though as a misclick will cause you to lose $2 and if you use the hint button it will cost you $5 then $10 for the 2nd hint, increasing the more you use it in a scene. You do not have to find all of the items although you do have to find one particular specified object. You will earn extra cash if you find 100% of the items in a scene. The second type of gameplay is a find the difference & for each one found you will earn money.
There is a map which shows available locations, you click on the nameplate to go to that location & play. Once you get to the 3rd level of the game you can find stars in scenes which you will need to purchase the constellations.
The graphics are very crisp & colourful, the artwork is cartoonish ; there is no music except on the map screen but there are ambient background sounds.
Unfortunately my eyesight does not enable me to see many of the H0 items as they are too small but if this is not a problem this seems quite an amusing little game. There is a lot of ‘story’ to read but the screens are skippable as is the dialogue.
My advice is to demo before buying.
I recommend this game!

After the proverbial car crash you find yourself having to go back to the past in four different lives to change what happened. As ever the Vogat artists have produced beautifully involved, gorgeous scenery; their work really is stupendous. However the graphics are not crisp as I prefer & were pretty blurry in the cut scenes. The music is wonderfully subtle as are the ambient background sounds.
There are no voiceovers which is a shame as IMO they would have upgraded the game; the dialogue is clickable.
There are 3 modes of play
Casual with a 30 second hint recharge & lots of sparkles
Challenge with 90 second hint & just a few glints to give a clue where to look
For those of you who love things difficult there is an Extreme mode with no sparkles, no hints & no help in the minigames.
The Hidden Objects scenes have some interactive items & a misclick penalty & there are the usual types of puzzles to open locks, etc. This is not the best offering from Vogat but definitely worth trying out.
I recommend this game!

ERS has adapted another Edgar Allen Poe story into a game & as ever it has sublimely beautiful artwork in the main scenes; it is the little touches I like, a ribbon tied to a door blowing in the wind, a little bird hopping about. The artwork was let down by some badly drawn items in the Hidden Object scenes & there were some odd choice of names in the list of things to find.
The usual type of mini puzzles crop up & these were reasonably easy to solve & in addition there are 33 roses to collect; I always love having this type of extra.
The story is set in France & the music suits the location, the background sounds are also excellent as are the voiceovers. The dialogue is clickable for those who prefer to skip through.
There are two modes of gameplay; in easy the hint recharges at 1 minute 15 seconds & there are sparkles to mark H0 scenes & areas of interest. In the harder mode the hint is 2 minutes 30 seconds & no sparkles, just the odd glint very occasionally.
It took me around 4 hours to play; without a hint button I had to think more about where to go & what to do which made the game very interesting. You do get a notebook that gives some clues. Good story & satisfying ending, now I know why I collected all the roses
I recommend this game!

The graphics are so grainy & dark that I could barely make out the objects. I have a large screen monitor so it is not a problem with the screen size.
The translations were very dodgy e.g. “This peral is pretty sparkling”
Such a shame as I think the story had great potential.
I don't recommend this game.

I loved The Strix & Kaptain Brawe but in this new game from Cateia Games, the storyline is very confusing. Initially you wake up in your bedroom, which you mention doesn’t look like yours & have to find your way to the garden to talk to your mother who seems to be a ghost. After speaking to her I am none the wiser; if there was a journal giving a little more explanation that would help, it could also show you any clues you find for use later.
You are given an inventory & a find item list (which as it says shows things to find) & a task list. There are three modes of play; casual with sparkles & a 60 second hint recharge, easy with no sparkles & what seemed to be a 3 minute hint recharge or adventure with no sparkles & no ‘find item’ list. The hint was not very useful as it just highlighted areas that I already knew needed something, a key for a lock for instance.
This is not a conventional hidden object, instead you find objects scattered around the scenes as you play so it is more of a light adventure. In fact I found so many items that my inventory filled up very quickly before I had an idea of what to do with most of the things I found. A bit of a clue on the mini games would be useful as I had to skip a couple simply because I did not know how to solve them.
There are lots of achievements to get & also 21 roses to find, I am always a sucker for this type of thing. In addition I loved the artwork, I got used their style in earlier games, the background sounds & the music, they really suited the game. This is a game that is not too easy & will require some brainwork, excellent.
I recommend this game!

I have not heard of Fanda Games; they have produced a game that is incredibly beautiful to look at with crystal clear graphics. The artwork is moody & atmospheric, the music melodic but a little boring & the background sounds are super although there is no voiceover which is a shame.
There are some very interesting puzzles that are different from the usual fare however there is only one mode of play so expect sparkles. There is also an Info button which tells you what your task is at the time & the hint button has a 60 second recharge.
I also like the story & normally this would be a buy however when I initially started the game all I had was music & a black screen for ages & I thought that something had gone wrong with the download. Eventually the game began but the slow loading between screens totally disrupts my enjoyment. Given the graphic & artwork quality I do hope that this developer produces more games but with a faster screen load please.
I am recommending because, although I did not buy, if you are prepared to wait for the screens to load this is excellent gameplay
I recommend this game!
