There is an extensive selection of puzzles and a wide variety of images in each category. However, I found very few of them to be especially appealing, mainly because I always seek the over and beyond in the puzzles I buy.
The pets and flowers, some of the art were more to my liking, but still, imo, were just average photo shots. They really out-did themselves with the food pics, a category I would never venture into. The graphics are excellent. There are lots of colored backgrounds, a nice extra we seldom see in most puzzle collections. You can add a max of 24 of your own photos to the game, which is a special treat. There's a multitude of achievements to strive for.
BUT...it was a failed demo. I was kicked out of the game as I tried to open my first puzzle and was unable to re-enter without completely shutting down and reloading. I gave up after 3 attempts. It may not happen to you, but for me it sent up a red flag as it may be a repeating bug after purchase. So I personally would shy away from this game, better safe than sorry! Maybe you're braver than me.
It looks like a game that would appeal to many puzzle lovers. If able to play I would give it 4 stars for the array of puzzles and the ability to add your own photos. But I can't recommend the game after my experience.
Birds and beauty just go together and this game is filled with them, a wonderful variety. The graphics are crystal clear and the locations are so colorful and brimming with beautiful scenery. There's lots to explore. The birds and other objects are a modest challenge in most scenes but some are more difficult to spot, especially the collectibles and morphs. Items are very well blended but not to point of frustration.
The mini games are easy but I enjoyed the variety. I like all the features and love how the zooming works with several ways to enlarge the area. Stars are received according to the amount of earned coins. Earn extra points by not using hints. The collectibles and morphs are essential to receiving 3 stars.
The game is very enjoyable and gorgeous. This dev definitely has the knack for taking boredom out of hidden object games which, imo, is not so easy to achieve. I always appreciate the entertainment they deliver.
Art Coloring has become a favorite in my paint by numbers collection, right next to Art By Numbers. I love it for its natural beauty, rich colors and amazing blending that bring the images to life. The animal pictures are especially appealing to me. The color combinations are gorgeous and even a picture of a snail in today's release was delightful. Outdoor images are stunning. All the images magically turn into a true work of art.
Subject matter is of good variety, although I don't care all that much for some of the people pics, but once the colors are applied they are pleasing. I love the Pixel Art Option and sometimes go to that first. It's a big bonus for me because I love pixel painting and had to abandon Pixel Art for several unfavorable reasons. This one is just so much better!
Art Coloring is a nice change from the style of the other paint by numbers games. It gets away from the super brights and neons, the fantasy art with all the crazy shapes and patterns. I love all of that but it's also great to have something diiferent and more adult on hand. The realism is just what I need sometimes.
The realism, gorgeous colors, nice variety, beautiful blending and detail, texture option, friendly features. Works for me!! With Art Coloring and Art By Numbers, the artist in me is quite content.
It will be a wonderful treat for those who haven't experienced the Awakening series IF you are a puzzle lover. The original game blew me away at the time with its beauty and story. This remaster comes at a great time with so many mediocre games boring us to tears these days.
However my eagerness to buy it was thwarted after reading in a review of 131 puzzles in the game. That definitely kills the thrill for me! It's just crazy, imo. Why are so many necessary? Why not just remaster the game so everyone can enjoy the beauty and story once again?
I did play the entire demo but all in all I'm pretty disappointed that I didn't get the chance to encounter more of the adventure. The graphics and colors are stunning! I doubt this will be a purchase for me since I feel it would be a waste of $$ if I'm skipping most of the puzzles. They take up a big chunk of the game. But who knows, maybe sitting on the fence will change my mind but it will be a long sit, for sure!
None of the synopsis is true except the 200 levels. The graphics and card backs are dark and as always those wonderful Gold Cards are in abundance. They sometimes place them in such a way that you are doomed almost right away. These cards are such a tremendous game spoiler!
Who wants to play solitaire that doesn't let you clear the table by yourself? It takes away the challenge so for me there's no point to playing. In one hand I was left with 26 cards on the table. It's impossible to work around them 99.99% of the time. Also the levels, as you continue, will give you decks with fewer cards and put more of the same cards face up. For instance 5 queen's and no cards to play them.
It's impossible to enjoy games from this developer, it's the same let-down year after year. Every demo is void of change. Let's face it, change will never happen. It amazes me that they keep returning with such a low star rating! No more reviews from me. They just refuse to improve their games so why bother!
I can't imagine enduring 200 levels of this. I would suggest that if you're a serious solitaire player, pass it up.
I'm looking for something different again. If I buy this TM, it will be my second one since 2014. I was attracted to the colorful graphics and characters and I know New Yankee has a good reputation, so I figured why not. It's time for me to get a little more adventurous. I like the theme and so far, in the demo, things are running smoothly. It takes a little getting used to since I don't have that much TM experience under my belt. I do own many of the very early TM games and haven't played but a handful of them for some reason that escapes me. At least I have them in case I become rei-inspired!
Jigsaw and Swap modes. Coose type of puzzle, number of pieces, level of rotation and hints. Having so many piece shapes is great. It's fun to use a new one for each puzzle, keeps it interesting and more challenging. I never use rotation, just don't like it. I don't see the point of hint level. If you need a h8int, why wait? There are 9 table colors. Features remain listed along the right edge of screen, I love the easy access.
There's a large variety of categories but none of them were very appealing to me. I especially disliked City and Food, Animals were disappointing. All the others were just so-so, imo. I was expecting much better because is usually so colorful and interesting. It wasn't well represented here.
The features/options are very good, music periodically went silent, the graphics are sharp but many of the images are very busy, many too dark which hides detail. I haven't mentioned everything the game offers but I think it is a fine puzzle game. My shying away from it is due to the unimpressive images in too many of the categories.
Installation complete but after 4 attempts game would not open, kept getting message "Error: Access Violation". Would not even uninstall without shutting down PC. I've never had a problem with Magnussoft before and their games are usually good, so I'll be fair with 3 stars. Maybe this game IS "The Cursed Artifact" OR maybe it's me!!
Twisted fairytales are always fun If the right dev does them the right way. I though Elephant Games did pretty well with this one. The female villain left the village men more empty minded than when they left home. Probably wasn't that hard to do!
I did enjoy the story. The HOPs and puzzles were a let down because they were so easy but the puzzles were more enjoyable. Graphics were okay, Elephant Games usually does much better. I passed on the CE because it contained very little extra content, collectibles were boring and the game is too short for a CE. Not worth the extra cost.
A mystery at hand! My reviews, for a long time now, are being posted 2-4 days AFTER they are submitted, so they get very little exposure. Customer service has found no solution?? Meanwhile my reviews are of no use because no one sees them during the time the new game is still on the Home Page. But I will keep submitting hoping the issue is resolved.
So just a brief review here since it won't be of any use anyway. No use writing anything other than saying it's a beautiful game, well worth buying and the colors and images are outstanding. However, imo, Art By Number 17, doesn't have enough images with full backgrounds. Still it's a winner and a definite purchase for me!
