Number 14 is super busy with activities, park attractions and interesting sights. Every scene is bustling with tourists, animals roaming about and filled to the max with hidden object fun.
This game seems to be of greater challenge, the items are very well blended, the trash and wildlife were not easy to spot, had to do a few replays. The ranger team has expanded, didn't see any of the "regulars" amongst the visitors in the demo. Mostly the usual assortment of games and puzzles but I always enjoy them. The terrific features and options add to the fun. Graphics are always top notch.
I love that there are no animated or cartoon characters. Just people, wildlife and establishments that are real and without neon colors. This is a great game that everyone can enjoy and well worth every cent of its CE price.
The new format broke the review page. It's been an entire month, BF is doing nothing despite my pleas to fix. I have to rewrite my reviews 3-6 times before they will "take" because the page completely deletes my text while I am typing. Now, I shorten my reviews to save time. It is horrible!
Cursed House 11 is a welcomed relief from BFG's own cursed house with its new format. I love this series and own all the games, play them often. Each level is a different challenge that creates the need for strategy which is great fun for me. The boards are never the same, tiles big and colorful.
The game is always loaded with super obstacles that require strategy to defeat, the mirrors and fire are my sticklers. Completing the tasks in order is your key to success, a fun extra challenge. Spot The Difference and the ladybug game are my favorites, love that we can now skip and return to them later. Absolutely not one negative thing to say about the Cursed House series. The devs do a terrific job keeping it fresh, challenging and boredom-free always.
Food, food, food! Too much of it! And again the colors are very dark and muddy. Even a flamingo and chameleon are in drab browns and greys, a candy picture with weird colors, off-colored food, roses are ugly brown-red. Flowers, trees, skies shouldn't be shrouded in dark, gloomy colors. All the images are unappealing, imo, because of the color selections. Every one on the palette was dirty looking, as well.
When I paint I want beauty and light, natural colors whatever they may be, unless it is a fantasy image that requires unusual colors. I don't want the finished piece to look like I doused it with a bucket of mud! It's a shame because the images were all very nice, otherwise!
But I really didn't enjoy this one. Too much twangy music, definitely had to adjust. The scenes were interesting but the dark areas and super blending in most of them made searching too frustrating. Fun Fact keys were hard to spot. Some misspelling and mislabeling. I used 2 hints in first scene but earned a "No Hints Used" achievement. Of the games in the demo I liked painting the stained glass sunflowers. All the features and options were great, the HO styles kept the interest up as usual. However, the cluttered locations and small items, colors too faded and blended into background just made it less fun. I don't think I would play this game to the end.
To biomix: I found all my games listed alphabetically in my Game Manager, under Purchase History. It's a horrible new format, isn't it?!
I'm a bird lover so the abundance in the game doesn't bother me, there aren't too many in the demo. Charlie sounds like a dork as he tells the story of the castle. A bird's voice should ne melodic and sweet. Lots of notes and narrative in the demo and starts out with a bunch of tasks.
Sharp graphics with rich colors. The scenes were pretty but too dark, making the collectibles harder to see. Still it was a weak challenge. Loved the puzzles, the one with stones stumped me for a while. HOPs were too easy but a good variety. As always I loved the interativity. HO scenes were dark, not overly cluttered.
Characters were all decked out in beautiful attire, voices good, locations were lovely, so the visuals were a treat. The music box gimmick was not bothersome, very pretty with Charlie continuing with his story. Demo ended soon after Helen's curse was lifted and her ring was returned.
I'm interested enough in the story to buy the SE. Ghosts, birds and Bluebeard stirred my curiosity. Anxious to check out more reviews from those who have played entire game.
Was able to set to my PC's resolution, scant options but were enough. I love the look of these graphics, beautiful artwork and colors, nice soft music. Some narrative, the dialogue is a must.
It's unlikely anyone can move through the game faster than a snail's pace, takes time and patience to get around. I'm not great at this kind of game, feels like an older one, navigation was frustrating. The cursor changes color according to task at hand, gathering inventory easy to figure out but you won't have hand holding or hints to guide you along the way. The dialogue is very helpful.
Can't provide much more info than that I'm afraid! I'm interested in the story but afraid I'll abandon the game early on due to frustration. So this will be a no purchase for me.
Of course it will be fun, they very rarely let us down! Graphics are dark but hand drawn artwork is nice, I like the music. The card designs are very lovely with softly colored nature art.
I feel the cards and very small dialogue print don't show up well enough on the dark background but posed no problem. The variants, tasks, games. quests keep the game interesting, enjoyed them all. Can't really rush through it like so many others. Love that you can build monster combos. Don't like slow $$ for shop and slow earning the bonuses.
The demo had a couple of snags. Several times more than one card flipped over, game "stuck" twice briefly but corrected itself. I own several Magnussoft solitaires and love the extras and variants, great replay. A definitely purchase for me!
Again Domini takes ideas from another story, chanages th characters, turns it into a "new" game. It is an old Domini ploy! Vampires and elves are always on the brink of war. Now with an elf elder missing and an artificial blood supply nearly depleted, big trouble is looming. Can the detectives save the day?
Graphics are dark, characters and voices so-so, music fits the theme very well. I enjoyed the HOPs and games. Should be entertaining with the theme and unique characters. But you can't rely on the demo for anything more than games and tasks. Rarely does it venture more than couple of minutes, if at all, into the action. Just have to purchase to find out and I won't do it anymore. Too risky!
If you love fangs and pointy ears and a mystery to solve, you'll probably enjoy this game.
Boomzap really went all out for this one. Lots of features, options, mini games, HO styles, etc. Easy, Medium, Hard. Custom Modes. Custom lets you reduce Hint and Super Hint to 1 second. I played in Easy and Custom, both challenging. Can skip dialogue. Choose full or short version of tutorial.
The magnifier is a good size and stays with you until you release it, find the question mark and get a fun fact about Rome, zoom zone is triggered and has several extra items. The game is loaded with so many things that it is almost too much. Nice graphics, lots of color, nice music, set in Rome.
Good variety of HO styles and mini-games. The collage puzzle was horrendous. Too many little pieces to find on a food background and it just wasn't fun, super challenge. The other puzzles weren't very enjoyable either, I skipped a slider puzzle. Lots of food featured in this game, I'm not a fan, the Photo Journal is full of it.
I should have enjoyed this game but I did not at all. Most objects were too small, too dark, too well blended or hidden in very dark areas. It increased the difficulty and diminished the fun. I never shy away from a good challenge but it went overboard in this game due to these factors. It became to frustrating, as I had to frequently use the hint. I love getting that perfect score but replaying the levels would be a nightmare.
Usually, I love Boomzap HOGS but wasn't sure how to fairly rate this. I felt guilty giving it 2 stars because it is still a quality game, except for the issues that spoiled it for me this time. Definitely try the demo. Maybe it won't be as frustrating for you!
The game will be perfect for those who can endure a lot of tedious tasks, love stories with little logic and adventuring into other worlds. Domini has brought us another "new" old game, just different title and characters.
A group of scientists disappeared from a dig site when a meteorite crashed. Arriving at the location with a search team, you immediately tumble into the crater and are whisked away to another universe. The graphics didn't feature all those awful purples and greens and I thought the colors were nice, appropriate . Characters looked and sounded good, voices better than usual. Yarat used phrases he shouldn't have been familiar with if no others had entered his world, one of three in his universe. Just one of the inconsistencies of the game.
Not many HOPs or puzzles in the demo. Didn't like the HOPs at all. They were very dark, a couple of styles used faded artwork that made items hard to distinguish, The same layouts we've seen a zillion times. Domini uses little imagination in style, interactivity and location of items, Puzzles were better but a bit too easy.
Other worlds are usually very magical and interesting if not overdone with too much of the fantasy look. I do enjoy the scenery but here I saw only a smidge. Too many tasks made the demo move too slowly and ended shortly after meeting Yarat. Again, I wasn't inspired to purchase a Domini game. They still have their loving fans but I'm no longer one of them. Hopefully, they return to the quality that made them so popular in the beginning. It's been a very long time!
