The first two installments were really fun and a very welcomed change from the Walkers. The music is lovely and includes one of the lilting tunes from Daydream Mosaics that I adore. There are waves lapping against the shore, a nice touch, and more. None of it breaks your concentration and volume is adjustable.
The story again features the dwarf, the terrible cat and the wise owl. It revisits the enchanted forest with a goal to reach and provides some humor along the way. The 140 levels in our quest aren't so EZ-PZ as in most other mosaics games. So your strategy skills are put to test and you have to pay closer attention. It requires replays for me but where's the fun without challenge?
There are 4 difficulty modes including Intuitive which takes you into Zen Mode. I always opt for Normal in the demo. but you can change whenever. I like the time display, but you're not playing beat the clock. The puzzles can all be replayed and I think there is a skip feature but I didn't check into that.
There are 4 recharging power tools, you start with 2 free mistakes, more available with larger puzzles. The tools and options are just enough to provide help without diluting the challenge. The 12 tile choices are not outstanding, but it doesn't really matter. The inclusion of 12 unique background tiles is what makes it fun and interesting and, for me, helps my gameplay. The options of light and dark background is a nice feature, the dark is easier on my eyes..
The beautiful animated graphics are full of color. Grids are big and easy to make out with no squinting involved, great for my imperfect vision. Some palette colors are deceiving and once on the grid they are quite different, with little distinction between colors to avoid mistakes. The other negative is no Save option. I think it should always be available in mosaic games. It is not always convenient to stay with a puzzle to its end, a break is needed without penalty.
The demo was limited with just 2 mistakes and few colors to work with. I know that all changes as the grids become larger, but it created those dreaded replays which I always want to avoid. This is truly an enjoyable mosaics game, that I think will gain lots of fans as it makes more appearances on BF. I hope they become a permanent contributor to this genre but don't get crazy with their visits, like the penguins, and can keep the game fresh with it's cute stories and change it up once in a while to avoid boredom.
Jet Dogs does a great job with Legendary Mosaics and thank goodness they are here to entertain us. This was an instant buy for me. I hope you try it and enjoy it as much as I did.
As far as I'm concerned, Rick Rogers MIA was not a good idea and I suspect he may not return. Elephant Games has taken a few wrong turns lately and this one is bad, bad IMO. Rick and Paranormal Files just go together like chips and dip, if you know what I mean. Is it a permanent disappearance?
Also, the game is short and contains few collectibles, hardly worthy of being labeled a CE. The cursor was very jerky and slow. My own didn't help much, everything moved slowly like freeze-frame. Very frustrating, hampering progress. So many things to find, too many tasks just to find the cabinet keys for Rachel. Lots of dialogue but skippable. The demo was not fun, it ended just as the team entered the mansion.
The characters stiff, like paper dolls. Voices and faces displayed no emotion. Graphics not great, almost fuzzy, color was dull maybe due to atmosphere of the story. A ghost tour along with an old manor to explore is especially appealing to me. But it is just another story with a weak plot and weak participants plus it took soooo long to get inside that I was pretty bored right from the get-go.
The few puzzles I played were okay, the 2 HOPs were list and storybook. None were challenging, but it was nice to find more HOPs than puzzles for a change. Skip and Hint recharge time in Custom Mode is 15 seconds, a little too long for me. Map seemed to be a good one but I didn't need it, since not entering the adventure due to slo-mo demo.
Many fans of Paranormal Files may be thrilled with this new investigation in spite of no Rick Rogers. But some of us are attached to certain characters, including Elf from another series, for some odd-ball reason. I would like to see Rick return with an exciting new case, with a higher level of paranormal activity and more involved storyline. Better work in character design would be great too!
Today's release has all the same features and I have all the same compliments. And the same complaint, which is, having to complete the first level in order to move on. So aggravating! I don't understand why the devs are so stubborn about removing this feature.
The first set of images, however, were a nice improvement over past selections. So it wasn't so tedious getting them done this time. There was a better variety of subject matter in each level. Not so many buildings and trees, less food, just a few cutesy images. And I was really happy to see more color! It makes such a big difference. I don't think everything has to be bold and bright. but soft color variations and subtle hues are so pretty, especially with the different textures.
The demo was enjoyable, but I stopped upon finishing the first level in less than 30 minutes. Yep, I was in high gear so I could check out all the other images. Because there is no challenge, the 64 images are gone too soon. I have to force myself to work at a slower pace.
Modern Art is a wonderful series. The "painting" is very relaxing and beautiful. Anyone who loves art can enjoy this stress-buster with no mess to clean up, which is always a plus. The kids might like it too. I think it's a great way to see how colors, detail, textures combine to make a piece of art instead of just a flat lifeless picture.
Not even a sliver of fun in repairing Granny's farm. The pieces for the repairs are large, artistically very simple, like from a pre-schooler's project book. Drag them to the silhouette of the item for rebuild. Each "job" shows how many pieces needed. To unlock the next location all elements must be repaired.
There are 6 tile choices, familiar assortment. The cursor is really big and a little wonky, preferred my own small one. Colors are vivid, very pretty, up to 6 per image but the demo puzzles are just 3 and 4 colors. Grids are large, no squinting necessary. The cell numbers beside and above the grid are difficult to see, making it easy to make a mistake.
Casual and Advanced modes, 4 mistakes allowed. Images are labeled though easily recognized, cute but childish. The graphics are very colorful and in-your-face big, cartoonish. Not designed with adults in mind, IMO. Young kids don't buy these games, so don't know why the devs thought this was a good idea. Unless children are running the business!
There are lots of levels which would normally be great. However, if the entire game is like the demo, I don't think I'd survive the tedium of 200 puzzles. There's no challenge, each one in Casual took less than 3 minutes and Advanced was just average difficulty. The previous Adventure Mosaics had a little story with it and a map indicating the levels, the images were better. Though it had only 3 reviews, it was more ambitious than today's release which is zero fun. Since I am not a child, I need more to stimulate my entertainment requirements.
Personally, I think not, if it is going to be just a repeat of all the others in the series. There's never anything new to keep it interesting. Even with the various game modes and HO styles, boredom quickly sets in and I don't feel like finishing the demo. I wish the devs would come up with some new ideas.
The graphics seem sharper than in previous games with lots of bright color. I also think the objects blend into the scenery much better this time. Some a little too hidden. The magnifier is a big help. Don't like using hints. There are trivia facts for each location. It's always fun to learn about the countries, but I've found some to be inaccurate in past "Travel" games. There's a good amount of locations to visit and the mini games are pretty simple, but I enjoy them. Lots of hidden objects that are not always so easy to spot. Tourists love to shop! It would be nice to have a Gift Shop in which to spend our points. The written dialogue can all be skipped. No special options. Music and sound is adjustable.
Entertaining for a while, but not enough challenge and too much repetition spoils it for me. However, it's a family friendly game with good replay value. The trivia is interesting for kids and adults. The "Travel" games I own all run smoothly on my PC, never any glitches.
If they weren't so predictable and were more creative with the features, it would bump up the entertainment level. A step out of the box with a good imagination usually brings great results.
As before, I find nothing "artsy" about Polygon Art. Everything, to me, is very unappealing. The geometric shapes and pre-school images are really displeasing. Dreadfully boring single items in the middle of a dark background. What is artistic about that? The colors don't even help, too little variation.
There is no challenge because the segments are so big and easy to fill in, the numbers are bold and easy to read. The Hint feature isn't really needed. On the bright side, this will be helpful for those with vision trouble. I don't know how much fruit is in this set, but I had my fill of it the last time. The variety of subject matter is awful, in my opinion.
This game should be lots of fun for children. Maybe adults with little time to spare who want to relax with something simple will enjoy it. There is a wide variety of colors. 64 images which go quickly, most can be finished in less than a few minutes. The very minimal features work fine.
The other art games are far superior to this one. I don't think Polygon Art will last long without making some serious changes to keep up with the competition. On the other hand, you might think it's super and really enjoy this art style. The demo shows pretty much of what to expect in the entire game.
I stopped buying Fantasy Mosaics long ago because there is no need for umpteen of the same adventures with the same penguins. It is just so boring! However, I do check the demos to see if anything has changed to renew my interest. Sadly, it seems this developer is hopelessly stuck in a rut.
There are plenty of levels, some mini games, 7 tile choices are nothing out of the ordinary, several game modes including Zen. The images are cute but not as much as in the older games, colors are still beautiful, the power-ups do their thing quite well. If you haven't tried FM before I know you will be thrilled with it. It 's a bit challenging with its logic-based puzzles but at the same time relaxing. The penguins are cute until you've been on too many excursions with them. I got tired of it, but I know many fans still love them. The series is great if you have no problem buying the same game over and over again.
I've seen very few changes along the way. The dev's imagination and creativity are apparently MIA, they've become lazy with their efforts. Some changes are needed to make it more appealing. There's lots of top competition now and that's where my attention has gone. The one big negative for me is that there is no Save Option! It has been requested so many times and here we are with Number 47 and still no save! Why the reluctance for such a helpful feature?
Fantasy Mosaics got me hooked on this genre and I do own 20 of their games. It offers some nice features and options and is worth checking out. I don't think you'll be disappointed. But for me it is just worn out, the cuteness of the penguins has faded. Would love to see a new family, different decorating themes, new features.
The ghosts are busy puttering around as usual, building another little town. The graphics are still sharp and colorful, the board tiles are a little different this time and the power-ups get the job done when I'm in a pinch. I love the mechanics of these games. Getting to the coins isn't always as easy as you'd think.
The obstacles are fun, not hanging you up forever like in Cursed House. The mini games are pretty simple, except the HO and find the difference are a good challenge. I love the new slider puzzle, the style is one of my favorites, rarely seen in games these days.
Laruaville doesn't bring much change with each new installment, but it doesn't really matter. The game is cute, the story is always different and the town is fun to build. The challenge is just right for those times when you just want to play something other than a mind-bender game. No rushing, no frustrating replays, just kick back and enjoy the cuteness! I try to resist buying sometimes, but always give in when a good sale pops up. Haven't been disappointed yet with the quality. A great Match 3 game!
Five-BN doesn't disappoint, always bringing us quality entertainment. The graphics in this game are pristine and the characters are perfect in every way. The scenes and colors are beautiful. The story moves at a good pace with no tech issues and the length is good.
There is a lot to love about this game which includes some wonderful HOPs. They are very creative and interactive. Only problem is, there aren't enough! It was disappointing. On the other hand, there is a huge amount of puzzles, too many for my taste. The storyline is great, the theme involving a little sci-fi with a bit of werewolf and witch going on. Interesting for sure as the adventure takes us on a quest to save the world from devastation that is forming inside a volcano.
The CE offers lots of extras with even more at the end of the game. However, the SE should be more than satisfactory without the bling. I do not enjoy back to back puzzles so I opted not to buy, knowing it would be difficult to endure. However, after much thought, I decided I'd be missing out on an otherwise great game. So I purchased and just skipped MANY of the puzzles. Glad I did, as it has been lots of fun. Hopefully you'll enjoy it, too. It's another stellar creation from Five-BN, sure to please their many fans.
They've slipped another notch down my favorites list because each game has become a de ja vu experience that lacks the pizazz of earlier HOPA days. I used to impatiently wait for their new creations, buying them without even trying the demo, because I just knew they would be great fun.
Now the adventures are all pretty much the same scenario, the collectibles are the same sparse assortment, the tasks and activities are anything but creative. Somewhere along the way Domini has lost sight of what it takes to make each HOPA game a NEW fun adventure with a NEW storyline and plot, interesting characters and new type of villain. Rescuing kidnap victims, slipping through portals, and power-crazed bad guys have been done to death. Something new, please?!
Today's release offers a fantasy world with unusual sights to get our attention, well rendered characters and a baddie threatening enough with his killer attitude and evil plot. The pace of the game was steady, back and forth not a problem, and there were no glitches. The graphics are always excellent and display lots of beautiful color, along with the love or hate neons. However, the color choices could have been better for this fantasy themed game in another world.
There are a few interactive objects to catch your eye, the music is good as usual. However, this game seems vaguely familiar as I play the same HOPs and puzzles, search for 15 of each no-challenge collectible and perform the same tedious tasks. Boredom takes hold and I end up not wanting to finish the game. What's going on, Domini? Where's the imagination?
I'm on the fence about recommending this one, because maybe not everyone has experienced a Domini game and it would be unfair to suggest passing it up. New fans may likely find the demo quite entertaining and want to dive into this fantasy adventure. I do hope you find the fun you are expecting.
