I've always loved Art By Numbers, being impressed with the fabulous color palette and beautiful variety of images. This time, however, I do not like them so much. There are so many that don't have a background and one cat is so small, it just seems a waste. The images are less appealing without it and are too quickly finished.
Subject matter wasn't great this time either. The pics I favored were #s 30, 60 and 65. The others were just okay, imo, with some that stood out because of their super abundance of tiny areas to paint. But all the images are unique and chock full of patterns and designs, lots of teeny areas that add a little challenge. The perfect combination of colors make them dazzling pieces of art when completed.
Every color and variation imaginable make up the palette so results are always amazingly beautiful regardless of subject matter. I favor this series and Art Coloring for this reason alone.
There are few options/features but they are enough. I love the counter that shows the number of areas left as you paint and also displays how many are left of the color being used. The Free Coloring mode is great because it adds super replay value. I let my imagination take over and create crazy color combos that are just plain fun to do and then marvel at the usually weird results!
Definitely 5 stars even when I'm not completely happy with the entire set of images in Number 20. Art By Numbers and Art Coloring make the other paint games pale in comparison. It's all about the color which magically brings even the simplest image to life and makes painting so enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

I know I certainly feel they are essential. I'm not a great fan of this series but own a couple of the games and really enjoyed them. Morality being the basis of the stories is interesting especially with the choices at hand. I like that each chapter has its own story with different characters.
The games usually have great graphics, well rendered characters except for their not-so-good voiceovers, and colorful locations that I enjoy inspecting at length. The demo tasks are generally not overwhelming as in some games although they are still silly and waste time.
However, today I was checking out the extras and mechanics which I do for games that interest me, in Sunnyglow's review, and regret going there. I read too much! Now "there's no need to buy the book if someone's already read me the story" is there? The "creep" factor was revealed and that just ruins the element of anticipation and surprise. I like finding creepy things in games when not expected, it really bumps up the fun feel.
This game seems like it would be pretty entertaining with this particular group of characters and their fates at stake. There's a comfortable amount of HOPs and puzzles rather than the over-abundance that becomes boring after a while. I tried most of the demo and enjoyed it, the tasks weren't too bad.
It appears to be less than CE worthy, not enough extras for the price. My choice would be the SE but will have to think on it a long while simply because I should have stuck to my rule of not reading certain reviews that give up too much info.
I recommend this game!

Patchwork 2 is extremely challenging from the start unlike the first one. There is no way to beat the timer. Unless you're blessed with superhuman speed 3 stars will never happen. Completing a puzzle with no errors will not earn them for you either, if playing in Relaxed Mode.
Each puzzle is locked and that is disappointing as I don't like being forced to play in sequence. There are 25 puzzles for each of the 6 countries featured. The first, Great Britain was not interesting or pretty, at least in the first 3 puzzles. My demo wasn't enough time to accomplish much because of the difficulty of each.
There are many pieces in each puzzle and their sizes and odd shapes make assembly slow and frustrating. So the timer was out of the question for me and i just enjoyed the challenge at hand, not worrying about the stars.
I didn't care for the bland colors and the images were nothing special. The "materials" used are the usual variety and the little patterns on them add to the unique look of the patchwork design. I appreciated the ease of picking up and placing the pieces, they stayed with my cursor until I was ready to release them. No "accidental" drops like in other patchwork games. I also loved being able to scroll up and down the strip to see all the pieces which helped in making the right choice.
I feel this game is worth picking up if you love challenging puzzles and the countries featured, and if earning 3 stars isn't important to you. I hope the subject matter and color will improve as the game progresses and the beauty I'm hoping to see emerges. Patchwork: Explore the World was really beautiful so I would think Number 2 should be also.
Not being a CE is a plus for me and I will purchase this game when it is available in a sale. I love patchwork games! Several of my older ones don't work with Windows 10. I miss them a lot so finding new quality patchworks is always a good thing. It would be nice if animals, fantasy, nature would be considered in future creations.
I recommend this game!

I absolutely love Art Coloring and own the previous editions in spite of them containing some images I don't like. I left them uncolored just due to lack of interest and it will happen again with Number 6. I'm very happy that we don't have to complete the first level in order to move on. Seeing everything up front really makes purchase decisions much easier!
I love the majority of their images and I'm pleased that more animals have been added along the way. The pics are exquisite in detail and color. Unfortunately, I just can't stand the food and the people and always avoid them in puzzles and color by number. More appropriate for magazines, imo. And #27 is what ? I've no intention of toiling over a zillion little whatevers.
So with my complaints out of the way I remain a huge fan of this series. I love how the images transform into such beautiful pieces of art. The mega array of colors makes them pop with contrast and shading, bringing out all the little details that are so important. The results are surprising.
This set of pics has 19 with people and 7 with food. For me that's a big chunk out of the 64 images and that changes the value. So this time I will pass and think on it a while. Will likely just wait until it's available in a sale.
I definitely recommend this series for its beauty and the replay value with it's pixel painting mode. If you enjoy pixel art, this is a different form of it, more time consuming, adding another fun way to expose the beautiful images.
I hope the devs reduce the number of people and food images or eliminate them. Still 5 stars from me but next time I hope to see more enjoyable choices such as birds, nature, the sea, vintage, architecture, etc. If you haven't yet, try the demo for Art Coloring 6 and check out the previous editions. Today $3.99 each which is great! Pop Art 1, 2, 3 too.
I recommend this game!

Graphics were excellent, good color, I love exploring caves and dealing with the supernatural. But I don't know what to think of the game by what was in the demo. As usual, tasks used up most of my time when more important things were at hand.
Can't put my finger on it but the story seemed a little disjointed to me. I didn't feel an urgency to see where it was all going, but still hoping for the best. The custom cursor was "sticky", at times wouldn't even move so I switched to my own. That led to finding that I had to use the Escape Key to reach the Options but cursor problem solved.
I very much enjoyed the HOPs. The silhouette items were slow-going though because they didn't show up well in the lists, darkness always seems to hinder HO searches in many games and it's annoying. The puzzles were in Easy and Hard Modes, none that I haven't seen before. They were fun, average challenge even in Hard so I did no skips for a change. Lack of patience is my undoing with most puzzles!
Inventory items were hard to see due to being quite small and dark, a lighter background would've been very helpful. Nathaniel's tattoo was used a few times in the demo, not a nuisance, quickly abolishing impending danger. I did okay with the collectibles and the puzzle pieces were easiest to find. Remembering to look for them was the hard part. The Match 3 was decent with attractive little gems and a meter to fill as matches were made.
Regarding the story, the Nordic theme should make the adventure worthwhile IF the tasks don't get in the way. I don't like stopping every 5 seconds to do something silly. Getting involved with the characters and action is what makes a game fun, not all the tasks always interrupting!
The Nordic creature wasn't unusual or scary and grunted a little with each brief appearance. I often wonder why "monster" artwork is so UNimaginative! Normally I'm not a fan of wintery scenes but Nordic history has always interested me. Hopefully there is more than a smattering of it in this game. If so I'd be more apt to purchase.
I love GrandMA games as a rule. I'd be surprised if this one turned out to be a less than shining example of their work. Quality entertainment is in very short supply at BF so I hope that GrandMA pulls us out of the doldrums with "Fortune's Consequence".
I recommend this game!

A remaster of what?? A Collector's Edition?!! If I am to believe that, then surely my mind has gone MIA! This game is a sorry excuse for a CE. I tried to find the original since this is described as remastered but the only Brightstone I discovered was in 2011's "HOTEL". It doesn't resemble today's game at all so what is going on here? It leaves me wondering if BF is trying to pull a fast one!
I did play the entire demo for this MYSTERIOUS remaster and it was very SE. I have no clue why it is labeled a Remaster or even a CE for that matter.
The graphics were great, it was busy collecting many things that quickly filled the inventory, but no CE collectibles. Lots of tutorial, no glitches. It was a dead zone as far as action and characters are concerned. It may prove to be an entertaining game later on but, imo, this questionable remaster would be a waste of $$.

You can always rely on Graphium Studios to treat us to something special and their puzzles are that, in deed! I love that they include interesting categories and aren't hung up on food pics. In the demo I assembled several smaller sized puzzles and everything worked smoothly. As usual the many features/options are a super plus, including background colors.
My favorites here are Fantasy, Pets, Spirit of Nature and Zen. The images in Nebula look too similar to me but the beautiful colors are deep and dark, giving them a kind of foreboding feel. I don't like people in my puzzles unless they are sociocultural images, not individuals just posing for a photoshoot. And again, as often seen in many collections, there are pics of feet, hands and rocks that, to me, are not puzzle material. Some of the artwork is too cutesy for the chosen category but I do like them.
A couple of categories are a little short on variety but definitely not short on beauty. I feel that just about every image would make an excellent wallpaper. This is a very nice collection of puzzles that many enthusiasts will really enjoy. And I, being one of them, will pick it up when it is released from its sale restriction. No more instant buys has certainly taken the fun out of finding a new game on the day it is presented.
My puzzle collection is steadily growing, thanks to quality devs such as Graphium. I work several puzzles every day and appreciate the choices we have at Big Fish, keeping me forever busy and happy!
I recommend this game!

because right off the bat my car key is missing, immediately followed by endless tasks that distracted me from the story. Upon meeting Leah, Conrad is unconscious and a fire needs to be extinguished, but first let me get 101 tasks out of the way! It was interesting to see that good old duct tape and a belt were still go-to tools in this futuristic world!
The demo progress was snail-paced. If not for the HOPs and puzzles it would have been a complete dud. The collectible little robots and fuel cards are hard to spot, found a few by chance. Leah and Conrad were attractive and voices were good but I was more interested in the cat character yet to make an appearance, which adds a new point of interest to the story. In spite of the beautiful futuristic surroundings and the important upcoming meeting with "big Al", the adventure fizzled out, for me, before it even got started. Just too many tasks and very little interaction with the characters. It doesn't take long for boredom to take over.
I liked the puzzles a lot, good challenge. I felt they were better than the HOPs. A couple of the HOPs were unique and fun, other scenes were on the dark side again, making objects hard to distinguish. Resorting to hints is never how I like to play. Also, while I don't expect or want objects to be glaring obvious in use or placement, a little guidance in the form of LOGIC would be nice. Logic is very rarely seen in these Domini games.
The demo didn't offer anything appealing, other than pretty graphics, to keep me interested. Action was non-existent with even a robot putting out the fire, so I had little to do. I felt that a story such as this should have more going on in the demo, leading up to the bigger picture, so we don't lose interest. These sci-fi stories don't come along that often and I really wanted it to be that entertaining, attention-grabbing adventure.
The somewhat pared down CE content is the usual format and, imo, there isn't enough for the asking price. Others will likely disagree and seeing the sci-fi theme will want to snatch up this newbie from Domini. If I had faith in Domini, like in the good old days, I would buy this game in a heartbeat. For me, however, they have tumbled from illustrious to mediocre in ways that just hamper my enjoyment a bit too much.
I do recommend the game for the theme and sci-fi visuals. Hopefully the game will prove to be a winner. Sometimes I make hasty decisions about a game but I know I can always pick it up later at a better price.
I recommend this game!

I loved the graphics and beautiful color, the characters and their voices with emotion in them. I actually loved everything, which made the demo a pleasure instead of a boring chore.
The tasks all made sense and didn't run me all over the place. The music was nice, background sounds were realistic, the birds chirping were delightful. Scenes weren't packed with out-of-place items that had nothing to do with the surroundings or story. Games were different, challenging, fun. Not an exhaustive challenge! Lots of collectibles! Morph lovers will be super happy with 65 morphing items and rewarded for finding them all.
There is so much more to this game that I'm unable to cover, only due to my not being into writing a review that spans more than a few paragraphs. Others, I know, are great at detailing all the important info!
I will say I'm not waiting for this game to go on sale. It caught my attention and kept me interested for the entire trial time. So I'm taking a leap of faith that the CE will deliver my anticipated entertainment. Hopefully my decision to purchase proves to be a wise one. Five-BN Games usually go a big step beyond the typical with their creations, with stories and adventures that are worth the time and $$.
I recommend this game!

I really like that each new world has its own story along with its different visuals, which should bump up the interest, keeping boredom at bay. Stealing time has Azedum up to no good in the alternate worlds, but will the day come when he has too much time on his hands?!!
The characters were just so-so and the villain wasn't very convincing as he tried to defeat the sisters. I wasn't impressed by the graphics, the sharpness was missing, but the muted colors were pretty. Travelling to the other worlds is a fun attraction, for me, as I anticipate the variety of unusual locations in each.
A vending machine and techy items looked so wrong for what I thought were supposed to be mystical, magical, color laden realms. The mix of dragons and machines just didn't sit right with me, but hopefully later in the game it will all make more sense to me. The demo didn't cover enough to reveal more than "time has been disrupted" and that the sisters have a dilemma to conquer. The owl was a lazy helper who flew to the out-of-reach places and just hovered there.
I had little trouble spotting the clocks. Puzzle pieces, though larger, were too hidden away in dark areas around the edges. The HOPs were pretty satisfying. One was lots of back and forth to find and place items in a picture book, it was the most enjoyable. Loved the puzzles, only one of them was off-putting due to difficulty but I never escape skipping at least one puzzle in any demo I try. I no longer feel guilty over it.
Usually demo tasks make me cringe. So many, so silly, no shred of logic. This time I was thankful for no unpleasant reaction and the amount didn't slow the pace a great deal. I'm on the fence about purchasing, even though Grandma rarely lets us down. I think the SE might be the better choice for me, didn't look like there was much to justify the CE price.
Waiting for the game to become sale-eligible will likely cool some of the excitement for a lot of gamers, me included. But if you love Grandma and can't wait, I hope there's a fun time to be discovered past the demo.
I recommend this game!
