simply because this one has a storyline that is too childish, for me. However it contains great HOPs (though not many) and a lot of mini-games that are really fun, many of which I have never seen before. Surprisingly, I didn't have to, nor did I want to skip any of them. That is amazing, since I am not a puzzle lover! So, guess what?! That is what convinced me to buy the game!
The graphics are, as in the previous games, bright and beautiful. Artwork is again top-notch and the colors are vivid, making the scenes even more gorgeous. It is all a special treat (for me) to behold. I love that the on-going adventure of this series still has the enchanted forests, trees and animals that add to the charm of the quest to defeat the meanie witch. All of which are people, cursed and turned into various creatures
I did not like the voices at all, they were awful and I finally had to just skip the dialogue. The music is not distracting. I did not find the game to be boring. This SE is long and entertaining, full of pretty scenery, interesting characters and fun games and HOPs. It has not presented any glitches nor has it frozen, thank goodness!
Our newest Witch Island seems to be a pretty good deal. If you can work around the childish story I think you, too, will find lots of fun in this adventure. At least give it a chance by trying the demo. It earned my 5 stars for changing the mind of this non-puzzle lover!
I recommend this game!

I own the other Paint By Number games and have enjoyed them, but Number 4 is less than what I was expecting. The fun of painting is still there, but minimal. The colors are fine, they don't look drab to me at all, although I think more are needed so shading can be applied to the pictures.
There are only 64 images, but they are so simple to color that before I knew it the end of the demo was upon me. I think a larger collection of pics would be great. The pictures, for me, are far too simplistic and suited more for younger artists. There are small images with large solid 1-color areas that are of no challenge and the pic is done in the blink of an eye. It would be so nice to have large, sophisticated, more detailed images to paint which would be more suitable for adults. I love the challenge and the satisfaction that comes with completing the larger pictures.
Some of the pictures here are not appealing to me, so I choose to skip over them and that makes the game even shorter. I did purchase this game just to keep my art collection growing and add some new pics to play with. However, the subject matter keeps the level of fun low, for me.
I really don't care about the background color or fancy cursors. I don't need a zillion whacky, super bright colors to make me happy. But a wide range of appropriate colors including the ones needed for beautiful shading and depth are an absolute must in any color/paint game. Also a sharp, more precise point is necessary for the cursor because of all the itsy-bitsy areas in the pictures. Very frustrating to paint with a big, clunky cursor.
I would love to see animal, birds, nature in these art games as well, which would require more detail and shading. The Paint By Number games always run smoothly on my PC, I've never had any tech issues. The features offered work fine and the colors are all nice and bright. Very sharp graphics.
Paint By Number is a fine game, I just feel it could be much better with a few changes that would enhance the entertainment value. I am always looking for the color/paint games and buy every one that comes to BFG. I just wish Big Fish would bring us more. There are a lot of them! They are available to MAC users, but what about the PC owners? We love and want the art games, too. They are so relaxing, and still a bit challenging with many areas to be color-filled in the large, detailed pics.
The art games have become my favorite genre alongside the HOPAs, they are a very nice break from the more time-consuming, serious games and it would be fantastic to have a larger assortment of them with their own category, perhaps.
I recommend this game for anyone who simply likes painting without having to mess with the clean-up and supplies.. It is really fun to watch the image bloom as the colors are applied. Who knows? These games might inspire a youngster to, some day, become an artist.
I recommend this game!

in this great new Dark City adventure? I'm eager to find out what's going on and my curiosity is growing while Agatha is busy trying to solve the mystery killings. I love the Dark City Series and this new installment is a good one, IMO.
Something is amiss as Agatha's investigation uncovers evidence of foul play that goes deeper than anyone imagined. Budapest is a perfect location for this kind of story with its drab looking landscape, and the atmosphere is dark and brooding which adds an extra touch of menace to the surroundings.
I love the appearance of the characters and the voice-overs sound pretty good. The scenes are full of things to keep my interest from going downhill. To my eye, the graphics are excellent and color-appropriate. There are a couple of collectibles to watch for, one of each per scene. Although they are easy to spot in most scenes, it is still fun as an extra challenge. I am, as always, thankful for the indicator bar to keep tabs on the collectibles for me. It's a great feature, sorely missed when not available.
I very much like all the HOPs and most of the mini-games. There is a good variety of each, but I did skip a few puzzles because they were more tedious than fun. The game is nicely paced, not too task-heavy and everything is located without much time involved. But I do wish developers could come up with some new tasks, especially ones that make more sense.
I don't have a clear picture of what it's all leading to as we look for the baddies in this vampiric tale, but it is very entertaining for me, so far. I am 3 chapters into the game and, as always, I am hoping for a surprise twist to the story and a suitable ending. If there are any loose ends left at the finish, I hope the Bonus Chapter continues the story and gives us a satisfactory end to Dark City: Budapest.
The usual choices of game modes make this game fun for all skill levels. I feel it is a worthy addition to my Halloween collection and the demo helped in my decision to buy right away. Sometimes I sit on the fence a long time because a demo didn't offer enough to keep me interested.
I recommend this game!

I am absolutely thrilled at finding Art By Numbers as one of today's new releases. This is a beautiful game with gorgeous, brightly colored pictures to create with a paint brush cursor. The amazing color palette brings more depth to the images and allows for a wider range of shading to make the finished piece really stand out.
I own all the color games at BFG and enjoy them immensely, and in my opinion this is one of the best being offered anywhere. These color/paint by number games have been available to MAC users for a long time now. There are many different ones out there and I have sampled some on other sites. PC users are left out for some reason and it really frustrates me. Please, Big Fish, bring us more of these wonderful art games! You would make the PC users extremely happy little fishies! We are way behind in what is available in this in fun genre.
I have to be careful not to get carried away with Art By Numbers, as it would be very easy for me to just sit and paint all day long. My other color games have been replayed so many times, it is just silly. So today's new release is simply divine!
The different backgrounds are nice, I especially like the textured one. The dark background in my other games has never been an issue with me, however, since the picture is more important. I don't see the need for a special looking cursor. As long as it isn't too big and moves about smoothly, I'm a happy painter. The brush doesn't make painting more fun, but it is a novel feature which many will really like. I do love the embossed frame that shows off the finished picture. it makes a big difference in my overall satisfaction.
The variety of 72 pictures is very nice, with something for everyone. The finished pieces are a vast improvement over the Pixel Art Series (for example), as they are so vividly colored and look much sharper which produces a more interesting, detailed picture.
I find these color/paint by number games very relaxing, while at the same time providing a nice little challenge. Finding all those numbers sometimes isn't as easy as one would expect. Great fun for all "artists"! None of the mess to clean up, but my cats would rather have pencils and brushes to push off of the table!!
Awigor has enhanced Art By Number with their special touch and variety of features which instantly made it a 5-star addition to my collection.
I recommend this game!

I love this storyline from Whispered Secrets that tests your fine detective skills. Attending a secret auction provides the setting for this entertaining story. While you and others are trapped within an old mansion, a mystery will be uncovered while investigating the disappearances of 3 collectors.
The weird harlequin, Curioso, is a character that brings another shade of creepy to the plot. I really like the game so far and with so much to gander at in each scene, this will take a long time to finish. I think the features offered here make Morbid Obsession a more-than-usual entertaining game. Being able to decide the fate of someone, based on past deeds is, for me, a bit uncomfortable even in a game, but it kicks the interest level up a notch. Also, it is great having several choices of gameplay. Naturally, I went with more HOPs, feeling a welcomed relief of less puzzles to muddle through. However, the mini-games I have encountered aren't too bad. The HOPs are nicely varied and creative and a Match 3 game is available for a change-up if needed.
The clear, beautiful graphics display lots of rich color. The scenes present much to sift through in search of clues, as you discover new tasks to complete. The characters are nicely done with their features and costumes. The atmosphere is appropriate for this kind of story and the music helps to keep the light creep-factor in tact. This isn't a scary game and that works fine for me. It is fast-paced and I haven't, yet, had any tech issues pop up. I feel this story offers good replay value, too, which I don't see in many games.
I think this CE Edition offers only a moderate amount of extras, but I am very satisfied with the three choices of gameplay, the extra chapter to be revealed, and the task of solving a mystery surrounding the unfortunate collectors and a highly prized collectible. Hopefully, the Bonus Chapter brings more mystery and dark secrets into the light. I like the story extensions and extra HOPs that lengthen the fun of the adventure. Sometimes the Bonus Chapter makes a so-so game worth the price of admission after all.
This Whispered Secrets game provides the usual game modes, so everyone can play. It doesn't show anything that is of an offensive nature. I think it can be enjoyed by any age group, but try the demo and decide whether or not this game is for you.
I recommend this game!

has brightened up my Halloween mood with this frightful family get- together, courtesy of Uncle Pierre. Reunions are so much fun! Or are they??? So far I am enjoying the story, being into the game for about 2+ hours. Domini always comes through with fine entertainment in a CE package worth my time and money/credits.
This fun game is full of eye-candy, my favorite treat in Halloween tales. It will take me quite a long while to finish it, since I love to take my time inspecting all the scenery. I love the interactivity with objects in each scene. Click on them, you will enjoy an unexpected little extra. There is much to keep you busy in this game which moves along at a good clip. The tasks don't interfere with the pace and the Halloween theme hasn't gone off-course.
All the activities will keep you nicely entertained. The HOPs and mini-games are all really fun. I am not a puzzle fan, but the choice of easy/hard for many of the puzzles is helping me to endure. The HOPs are varied and stick with the theme for the most part, and there is an optional Match 3 game as well. I am so thankful for the collectibles indicator once again. It is such a helpful feature for those of us who hate to overlook an item. I think all developers should provide them. Sometimes the fun can be diminished, just trying to keep track of everything.
This game is very colorful and the scenes are full of fun Halloween stuff. The Domini graphics are wonderful, as usual. I love the looks of the characters, they are well rendered. The music was okay, I typically turn down the volume, as it sometimes is distracting in any game. I am anxious to start the Bonus Chapter, I hope it follows through with the events and characters from the main game.
Cursed Family should appeal to all skill levels and age groups. It is good entertainment, the story is full of features and little surprises that makes it another winner from Domini. I used 2 credits to purchase and it is proving to be a smart choice for me and what I like in a Halloween themed game. I hope you try the demo and find it enjoyable, too.
I recommend this game!

I found this to be very bland for a Halloween story. Even the Grim Reaper failed to add an element of fear. Without the seasonal decorations to indicate Halloween, this is just another typical dark story. After the demo, I used my precious CE coupon, hoping for a few good Halloween scares, but receiving much less.
The game, even with the HOPs and puzzles, was approx 4 hrs and I am not a speedy player. That would not normally bother me much, but the story was weak and proved to be one of those cookie-cutters we all find disappointing when the BF description describes it as thrilling or exciting, etc. Oh, well. Some things will never change!
I liked that there was not an overwhelming amount of puzzles in this Halloween Stories release. The mini-games were fairly simple, but I enjoyed them more than the HOPs. That is definitely "a first" for me, as I am definitely not a puzzle lover!
There were the usual kinds of Halloween decorations throughout and lots of things to keep us busy, making the game move along at a comfortable pace. The graphics were okay and the colors were fitting to the theme, the characters had nothing special about them. At several points in the game there was no sound at all, don't know what that was about, but it did return without my having to try and fix it.
I liked the Bonus Chapter which once again featured the Grim Reaper, but the story was not part of the main game. It, IMO, was much more interesting, although I thought it was missing something that could have enhanced the quality of the storyline. The few games and HOPS within were a tad too simple which, for me, made them boring.
"Defying Death" was not a bad game but it certainly missed the mark in good Halloween entertainment, at least for me. It does a decent job of providing a few hrs of simple fun if you can overlook the lack of that scary/creepy feel that you would expect from a game that deals with Halloween and the darkness typically associated with it. The Grim Reaper is around no matter what time of year, I think a sinister character with a definite tie to Halloween would have been a much better choice.
Of course, try the demo. What I look for in a Halloween themed game is likely quite different than your requirements. I regret purchasing, but still recommend it as an EZ-PZ game that can be enjoyed by all skill levels and age groups. However, any Halloween tale might be too grim for the very young.
I recommend this game!

A dangerous relationship that makes an interesting vampire tale. This really got my attention and it turned out to be a very good story. I rated the CE version with 5 stars and enjoyed every minute of the game. It was very entertaining, the story held my interest to the end, boredom never crept in.
I really liked the appearance and voices of the characters, the graphics were excellent and full of color appropriate to this kind of fantasy setting. The gothic touch was just right and the music was fitting to the vampiric atmosphere, so I wasn't bothered by it. Music in many games just drives me up the wall and I turn it off.
The HOPs and puzzles were all of average challenge. The HOPs are always the major attraction for me, other than the storyline. Not a puzzle fan, really, but these didn't involve a lot of time or frustration. There was a good variety of both to please everyone. I love Domini. They do a splendid job, putting together a quality package with great games, beautiful graphics and solid stories.
The extras in the CE were not abundant as in other Domini games, but that certainly was not a negative. If you always opt for the SE edition, you will still be well entertained with this Dark Romance release. Although the collectibles and morphs are a good bit of extra fun, their absence does not change the quality of the game. I gravitate to the CE mostly for the Strategy Guide and Bonus Chapter.
Vampire Origins was a good purchase for me. Vampire stories that are not silly, that have a decent plot are hard to come by. So, naturally, I added it to my collection, and hope more vampires find their way to Big Fish. Not to mention that Halloween is right around the corner.
I recommend this game!

I played the entire demo but nothing about the game said "buy me". I love Elephant Games but this new installment of Grim Tales fell a little flat, in my opinion. Although I am not a huge fan of this series, I own enough of the games to realize that this one has a few flaws, so I'm sitting on that doggone fence.
The entertainment quality is lacking, as compared to previous releases. Richard being MIA does not make a difference to me, I never liked him much and never saw the necessity of his presence or the humor in it. But the family drama and the storylines kept my interest going. I like the time-travel theme in "Heritage" and I am anxious to discover whether or not changing the past, can save someone's life.
The flaws herein are not huge, but they bug me. The voice-overs are really not good, I could have done without the dialogue. The graphics, though nicely illustrated in some scenes, looked pale and hazy to me. Detail quality was not consistent and the artwork seemed to be missing the finishing touches, undone in many places.
I enjoyed the HOPs and puzzles, they were not very challenging but I thought the variety was good. The puzzles with several parts to them were especially fun. The HOPs were typical of most games but I loved every one of them. I thought everything moved along at a good pace, so I didn't become antsy while playing the demo. There was a very helpful map and the usual game mode settings, there were no tech hang-ups.
This is a moderate CE package with a few collectibles and morphs, and a Secret Room which is always fun. As for game length, my time always goes beyond the norm for most players, since I linger over each scene to catch every little thing. That's why detail is so important to me.
I like the story here, just can't decide if this new release will be pleasing enough, considering my picky qualifications which include more than just the adventure.
I recommend this game!

Mexico is a wealth of history and beauty. Having lived there back in the 60's, I thought I'd check out our new Travel game. There certainly is a lot to keep us busy and the locations are nice and sharp, exhibiting vivid color, loaded with hidden items that are not always so easy to spot. There is a fun variety of mini-games that are not of much challenge, but provide a nice little break from a long stretch of searching for the HOs.
The size of some of the items are out of proportion which, oddly, sometimes makes them harder to locate. Our cute little turtle is back, one in each location. And all the scenes can be replayed til the cows come home, no limits in your quest for the perfect score or the fun. I always love the facts provided for each country in our travels with the Hudson family. They make the game a great learning tool for children, as well as adults. This is a family friendly game, I think ideal for these times of isolation.
Each new release is pretty much the same as the last, as far as features and mechanics. However, because there is a different country visited each time, I can overlook all the familiar content and enjoy the carefree fun that it is. It's nice to break away from the more serious games, once in a while.
I recommend this game!
