This is a really great game. As previous reviewers have said, not a lot of bells and whistles that many CE games have. I actually found that refreshing as I could get really involved in the storyline and challenge myself to figure things out without distractions. The storyline grabs you right away and while there are a few spots where you are so busy accomplishing tasks that that wears a bit thin, it picks right back up. I liked the characters and wanted to know what happened. There is a map for the going back and forth so it's not tedious. The music score is one of the best. Adds ambience without being annoying or distracting. My only reason to give it 4 stars is that the HOS were pretty easy.

I took a chance on this game and was glad I did. Quite fun. And it took quite awhile to play since I had to figure many things out on my own. I had gotten used to a lot of bells and whistles and this game is more like the ones of old. Good storyline. The music is of high quality although there are periods where there is none, which was fine. The HOGS scenes are varied and some quite challenging with small and obscure items. There is a jump map which helps towards the end when finding clues which you notice at first but start to ignore because you can't use them until later! I think the funnest challenge was that there was no strategy guide and no walkthrough so I was left to my own grey cells . There are hidden roses which you can accumulate and use as hints. My biggest frustration was the puzzles, many of which were difficult. The "directions" were often not complete enough to know what the rules were to solve the puzzle and there really wasn't a hint. But one could always skip. The dialogue also if very long would cut out to print, leaving something of a comic book feeling. Still fun and worth a coupon!

This is a great game. It's always tough to write a review after so many, but I really liked this game and so wrote about some of the nuances. Because there are so many optional assists it will appeal to many levels of gamers. As the games get more complex the music becomes more important as one hears it for quite awhile, especially if playing on hard or expert mode. I found this music quite good and not putting one on edge if working on a particularly difficult puzzle. The story line is appealing. One "succeeds" at just the right pace to want to keep going. You don't get bored with achieving things just to move to the next task. The graphics are good. Some going back and forth but within reason and purposeful. The diary is really a non issue. Doesn't assist and just restates what just occurred. As with many games KEEP CHECKING YOUR INVENTORY!!! Always a good clue. Very nicely done. Not so many achievements and morphing objects that one has to choose between getting involved in the story or "achieving!" Strongly recommend.
The Emperor’s son has a mysterious illness. As legendary healer Daiyu, you’re called to the palace to save him, but you end up having to save yourself!
This is a really great game. I recently played another by this developer and enjoyed it as well. The graphics are quite good. Very crisp.Voiceovers are not out of sync. I love being the "healer" in the game, which makes me an active participant. The music is good, doesn't over power or annoy. There are characters you meet who are likeable and help you in your motivation to help the prince who is poisoned. There are achievements, a great storyline, good HOS that are not cluttered junk piles. I am a Majong fan and it's nice to have the option to play a majong game to solve a HO. The puzzles are good. Not too hard but not super easy either. This is a game that will appeal to many experience levels with a strategy guide for those who want it. It has the advantage of being a fun game to play more than once and worth the price of a CE. Enjoy fishies. Thumbs up!
I hesitated to write a review as there are already so many. But couldn't help myself as I have played many games and was starting to feel bored until this one came along. This is really fun, many things to do and can be played many times in order to master it. Check out the achievements so you know the goals which are high! Which makes it worth the money for all levels The puzzles are fun, there's a SG if you need it, can ignore it if you want the challenge. Music is good, adds but doesn't overwhelm. Initial motivation driving the character is not immediately obvious but quickly so. If you are new, enjoy. Many of the reviews now are written by people who have played a long time and so the standard is high! I would have been blown away by this game if it was my first. Great game for gamers on many levels.
I have been playing these games for quite awhile. Like several other reviewers, feel somewhat sheepish about how many (LOL). As you can read from the previous reviewers, there are many positives to this game. Great storyline, Good music, collectables. The HOS though are the best because they are a puzzle within a puzzle. Kind of like the old game "Mousetrap". Very fun and a nice new nuance. It's a buy for me especially given that it's on sale! Thanks, BF! Have fun fishies.
A late-night subway ride takes a bizarre turn into a mystical cemetery. You have been summoned by a strange entity to free the cemetery’s lost souls. Will you succeed, or is this the end of the line?
Like many previous reviewers, I have played the previous Redemption Cemetery games and really enjoyed them. This one is just as fun. Lots to do. If you are new, while it's busy the advantage is that you can play this game many times to pick up all the things it has to offer. The "extra" minigames that you need to play to give your raven powers needed to progress, add to the storyline, which I really liked, rather than some tack on busywork. It's very linear, so not overwhelming. They are not hard but not silly either. It was nice to also be still a minute and appreciate the amazing artwork and graphics. The puppy aspect is fun rather than the usual, save the boyfriend, brother, husband, child, etc. And no car crash to start with! As in many games, there's a helpful map. A nuance of this game is that you get diverted to a "subgame" to get what you need to solve something in the main game. It's much easier than running to and fro. Overall, really fun and worth the money.
I was beginning to think I'd become too jaded to play these games anymore. Just didn't get that "this is really fun" feeling although many of the recent games are good. This game however has the right chemistry to have that fun feeling. Set on the ocean. Music is great. Storyline has a nice pull. Graphics are very clearly drawn. Some items are used far enough from finding them that things are not so obvious. The morphing creatures are not always easy to find and the storyline is good enough that you forget to look for them! Nice feeling of spooky without being too creepy. My only criticism is that the science behind the opening scene, which otherwise sets the tone nicely, is wrong. Otherwise a nice way to spend a weekend afternoon and its complex enough to play more than once.
I hesitated to write a review knowing there were already 84 reviews ahead of me. In any case, this is a great game. All the "components" of what makes a buy for me are there. You care about the endpoint, even though it's a familiar theme. The games are challenging and although there are maps and hints it's not obvious what you have to do. I enjoyed having a level of challenge without it being so hard I gave up or resorted to the SG. . The music is really nice, not that driving thrum that makes you shut it off. There are achievements and as one person said you can play the game more than once to achieve them which makes it worth the price. The hos are not too often. The logic is good. The characters good and you want to help them. You can follow this story line easily without having played the game that came before. Overall a really fun game and worth every penny. A great escape with challenges even for those experienced in gaming.
When your daughter, Emily, is taken over by a mysterious force, you must travel to the Nightmare Realm to search for a cure. But nothing could have prepared you for what you find there…
This review is based on playing the demo and then the game. I'm not sure why this was released at the end of the month, but this is a game worth having. Like many, I had several coupons to spend that don't apply to collector's editions and many of the collector's editions "benefits" don't really appeal. I read the reviews and actually did what many reviewers suggested, which was to replay the game leading to this one which came out awhile ago and made me recognize the advances in gaming in so short a time. A nice reprise and a gauge for me about how much we have come to expect of games these days but that's not always what makes for a good game.
I really enjoyed this game. I've played enough that I don't really need a strategy guide unless I can't figure out where to go and this game allows you to use your skills to figure it out. I does take some minor adjusting to the framework of the game. It does help to read the guidelines at the beginning. Tutorials are good just to adjust to individual nuances of a game. The map is helpful although not a jump map it does tell you where objectives are and help with the structure of this game so it's worth it to avoid future frustration. . And there is the enjoyment of finding the extra origami figures that appeals to many of our gaming natures. The puzzles were good. Not too easy but not so hard they stopped game play. Enough incentive to want to keep going. For me music is an important aspect. In this one , music was good, not great, but nicely in the background but not that annoying drive of some recent releases so no need to turn off sound. There are not many HOG scenes so if that is the type of game you are looking for this may not be for you.. It's more adventure, puzzle. A very nice game to spend on a coupon.
Additionally, I have been playing BF games now for quite awhile and was feeling somewhat guilty about the accumulative expense (although that's many years worth) but have found it worth the money. Research is now quite clear that these kinds of games are quite stimulating to the brain (Better than the NY times crossword) and I have seen an improvement in my own abilities on many levels, so I don't feel guilty anymore! Keep on playing Fishies for good brain health!
