Played both CE and SE games and thought this to be geared more towards a beginner, younger gamer and/or a game to enjoyed between a parent and child. Bright and colorful graphics, this is a fantasy story that requires picking up objects to be used in various scenes, puzzles and easily located hidden objects.

Goal is to escape Dr. Torpse's clutches from his mental ward and solve the Island's mystery. Scary sights and flashbacks. Appropriate soft, eerie background music with an occasional drill sound. Yikes! Hidden objects appropriate and can locate. Never had to consult with Strategy Guide as the "To Do List" was straightforward and kept me on course--too much-- as it would spell out the answers. "Oh, I have to use my makeup brush and that is in my room!" Developers must be afraid to allow we gamers figure things out on our own. Or. we gamers complain too much and developers make our games boring! Would recommend F.A.C.E.S as a really good "escape" game and awaiting it's sequel!
Game has many aspects of interest. Numerous puzzles, mini-games, within close proximity and without having to roam all over to find action--more Adventure than Hidden Object. There is no timer, however, the game has so much going on that it appears fast paced. Colorful scenes and artwork are well lit. Merci!
Shackled to the floor and you're life is in danger. Really grabs your attention. Creative objects can be located. Gold pouches to gather as well as "unlockables" scores to reach are added goals. Background raindrops rather than music adds subtle, somber touch. Looking for a good CE game on the bonus weekend and found this gem!
Played demos for both CE and SE Games. Goal is to free ghosts from an evil spirit in an old house. Scenes were dark for me. I like challenging hidden objects, however, dark scenes tend to have the upper hand due to shadows and lack of clarity. First hidden object scene , I had to use my Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass and still needed to use hint button twice. Will pass on this game series.
Always great to have Study Guide as I usually choose Advanced for more challenge. Found myself wandering around as objects did not seem to have a continuous flow or connection. Game went a little slow for me, however, I am only reviewing from the Demo. Will try the Mystery of McInroy Manor Game.
Only played demo. Ability to earn Achievements which is always a fun challenge. Also cool to "shoot monsters" and earn extra hints. Another Egyptian Archaeological Dig Site which I deeply respect all the hard work that went into this game, however, was a little too slow for me. Maybe purchase the SE in future will expand more.
I guess it's all about what you like. This game grabbed my attention from the start. Clicking away as if that would move me faster! Realistic surroundings. Great artwork. Only problem is--don't know whether to purchase Standard or Collector's Edition. Will play them both.
Played demo only. Admired the flawless, detailed artwork. Soothing background piano music and slow gameplay is not for me. Little to no challenge. Great for romance novel lovers and gamers who like a slower pace. Very clean and wholesome game to enjoy with a younger daughter, granddaughter, etc.
