Based on the demo: If this was a standard edition I would give it a solid 4 stars. Yes, it was easy, yes it was chatty, yes it was old school. However, I liked the setting and the storyline was pretty good. The graphics were good. It's a nice time-passer when you don't feel like thinking too hard. I just don't get why it's collectors. No achievements, no collectibles, no bonus game that I could find, no strategy guide (not that one would be needed). There is no way I would spend full price or 2 credits on this game..
I don't recommend this game.

this game is beautiful, and peaceful. I'm not a young game player who likes rough and ready games. I really wish I could find more games like this!

Time travel, a love story, morphing objects - what's not to love?! I have really enjoyed the past installments of the series and this one looks to be just as good, if not better than the rest. Sure, the level of challenge isn't really for the hard core gamer - the puzzles are fairly easy but enjoyable and just right for this casual gamer. The achievements (which are really important to me) are challenging but attainable and I like the style of the HOPs. I love the historical/educational aspects, e.g. the fact cards and the real people involved in the story but I realize that this probably isn't for everyone. (I'm a librarian who loves history). All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the demo and plan to buy the full version! Thanks devs, for another great game!
I recommend this game!

I really like the detective storylines - especially with the vintage feel. The game play was fun, not overly challenging but not a walk over either. There are some technical issues that were a bit annoying but I'm such a fan of these games that don't have the ghosts and ghoulies that I'm not complaining. Except for one thing, the HOPs are usually my favourite part of a game - not so here!! In every one there are at least 2 objects that you have to click on several times to find the exactly correct spot and, in the silhouette style HOPs it is often very difficult to figure out what the object is supposed to be so I found myself clicking random objects to try to find the right one and when I did it looked nothing like the silhouette. Frustrating at any time but when trying to collect the "no misclick" achievement maddening in the extreme!! But, all in all, a keeper that I'm sure I will play several times.
I recommend this game!

If you have played the other H.E.L.P games (especially the Hope Diamond) then you know what to expect - lots of fun! I was able to collect most of the achievements on the first go, but it was challenging enough that I will have to play it again to earn them all - which I quite like. My only little complaint is that I found a few of the puzzles difficult; not because of the level of challenge but because they didn't make sense to me, even after looking at the solutions in the strategy guide. All in all, though, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I recommend this game!

If you have played the other games in the series you pretty much know what to expect. I love the straight forward mystery/detective genre with no ghosts, goblins, curses, amulets, etc. I get really tired of the same old plots over and over - not so with this one! Original storyline, interesting characters and, most important, really fun gameplay. Don't skip the credits - even without the achievement awarded for watching them they are well worth it ;-) More like this please!!
I recommend this game!

I disagree with the negatives of some other reviewers - the graphics were very good; cartoony? I suppose so but it is a casual game so I don't need real people and long storylines. I'll watch a movie or read a book for that. And the lack of voiceovers is a plus to me. Just as long as I can click through the dialogue (I'm a very fast reader) I'm happy. The music is good - it changes with each section of the game so it doesn't become monotonous. I did skip some of the puzzles, not because they were too hard but because they were a bit tedious. I'm not going to give myself a headache doing something I don't enjoy. It seemed like it should be a CE so sometimes it felt a little incomplete, as if the developers started it as a CE and then downgraded it and rushed through the rest of it. All in all a pleasant way to spend 5-6 hours.
I recommend this game!

I'm glad I used a free coupon to get this game. It was slow going, too short, and the gameplay wasn't always intuitive, i.e. it didn't make sense where to go and what to do next. My biggest issue was with the inventory - every single time I thought I had picked up the item but I hadn't so I had to click on it again, picked it up, but it was dropped before I got to use it. One part had a grating with four screws - the screwdriver went back in to the inventory after each screw! Very frustrating and slowed the game down (which maybe was the point, since it was VERY short - took me less than 2 hours to complete). However, it was a good game for a coupon and I enjoyed it moderately well, though I would not pay money to play it.
You’re on a train in the middle of nowhere, and a band of dangerous thieves demand you tell them where to find the Hope Diamond’s shards. As the newest Hidden Expedition recruit, you’ve got to find the shards before they do…

This game incorporates several of my favourite things - morphing objects, special symbols to find, European locations and then adds a bit more. Most of the HOPS have several layers to them - first you find silhouettes then have a list of objects. You collect fact cards that contain interesting information (which you can read or not as you like). Customizable levels of game play let you choose how challenging to make the game and the achievements are such that I will have to play the game again (perhaps a couple more times) to earn them all. Really enjoyed it.
I recommend this game!

One of the best games that has come out recently, in my opinion, I loved the setting, the time period, the atmosphere. Great music and graphics, puzzles interesting but not so hard I wanted to throw my computer out the window. Lots of little extras - I like games with secret items to find in each location and achievements to earn. Most of all I like the straight forward mystery storyline - no ghosts, goblins or amulets in sight. Thank you, devs!! Keep em coming :-)
