I have the previous two games in this series. The visuals are stunning and I love the game play. I don't usually play the music during games, but the music with this series is very nice. The one thing I've been critical of in the past is the voice overs. For the most part they are horrible. During the hour of the trial version, the good VO's were the evil book, the owl and the Goddess Harmony. The rest of them are like chalk on a chalk board. I try to click out of the dialogue as quickly as I can read it so I don't have to listen to the VO's on most of the other characters. The owl is really superb so far. But, I enjoy the game play so much that I grit my teeth and get through the VO's. I like the variety of puzzles, hidden object scenes and visual effects. I don't have money to spend on a CE game right now so I will have to wait until I can get this one at a lesser price, but so far the games in this series are a definite buy for me, including this one.

Some gamers are going to have a totally negative reaction to this game for various reasons. Some really dislike "cartoony" games, but I really like them. I started the trial version and thought it was only available as a timed game, so I uninstalled it since I refuse to play timed games. But, I kept thinking about it and went back to re-install it and check the options available. There is an untimed option so I tried it again and bought it. It's just a fun little game with more to it than you might think at first. Also, the special Tuesday offerings of being able to buy the featured game and adding another game to essentially get two games for the price of one is a strong point when it comes to my tight budget. It's one of the best money-saving ideas BF has come up with for quite some time. I think this is a fun game and a "hoot" - that might be a mid-western term that other parts of the country don't identify with. There are a couple of things that could be improved upon IMO, but I'm just kicking back and enjoying the game for what it is and not always needing a game that is so difficult that it blows the fuses in my brain. My mother always said "Have fun" so I am.

The first few hands/levels are so easy, but I think that's so gamers can get the hang of it overall. As you progress through the game some of the levels are quite challenging even though I don't try for 3 stars on every level. I go casual/timeless in virtually every game when I have a choice. The powerups are good once you earn them or buy them. The story is okay, but it's not important to me in a game like this. If you're a solitaire player you'll pick up on this quickly. My only fuss is the fact that once in a while a card won't respond when I click on it, but if I hit the undo arrow, then the game will refer me to the card that I just tried to pick up with no success. Other than that, I am enjoying this game.
I recommend this game!
Laruaville is back, with more Match 3 puzzles and mini-games to solve!

It always amazes me how the developers continue to add new features with each game. But, there's also some of the old and familiar. This series is always an immediate buy for me. It's one of the very best offered by BF. Gamers who are new to this series will probably benefit from referring to the instructions in the book with the ? on it in the upper left hand corner. It's a totally unique gaming experience and absolutely superb.
I recommend this game!

This game is outrageously terrific. It's stunning to look at, the music is beautiful to listen to, the game variations are among my favorites, it's well worth the price, and more. I love sudoku type games and I always relish a good and challenging word game. Good word games are few and far between here at BF, so it's much appreciated to find one of this quality. I have enjoyed several games by this developer. I had thought I should probably go to bed pretty soon, but I think I'd rather stay up a bit longer and play this game for a while.
I recommend this game!

I have all the games in this series and think they are top notch. I am not overly wild about the voice overs, but I can easily overlook that since the game play is so excellent. I'm not one to go into great detail like a few others do on a regular basis. I especially like the puzzles where you have to go back and forth through 4 or 5 panels to find things and then insert them in correct places. Some hidden objects are very challenging to find, but using the hint feature doesn't upset me. I'm in it for the challenge and the fun of it - isn't that the point of playing a game? Maybe Pennmom or HeavenBound will pop in and give one of their Indepth reviews. So happy to see this game since I have enjoyed the previous ones in the City of Stories series. I've purchased the CE versions each time. I hope there is another one coming down the pike to brighten my day.

In the hidden object scenes, the majority of objects are IMPOSSIBLE to see, even after using the hint button. I don't mind having a challenging game, but this is totally ridiculous. I liked the other types of puzzles, but struggling to find items isn't worth the frustration. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't buy this game. I didn't have any technical difficulties, but when you can't see the hidden object even after the hint shows you where it's located, it's time to find a different game to play. It's a visually nice game. I really like the premise of the game, but making things impossible to find due to darkness is a deal breaker for me.
I don't recommend this game.

Calling this a hidden object game is misleading. There is a wide variety of games, most of which I really enjoy playing. I played a few levels just to make sure it worked with my computer (which I do with all games). I bought it almost immediately after downloading the trial. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this game. It's hard for me to stop playing and doing other things, but when the dog barks to go outside, I have to put the game on pause.
I recommend this game!

I know this is a knock-off of the Rescue Team games, but I enjoyed it anyway. I like the bright colors and I don't mind anything "cartoonish." I was definitely going to buy this, but then I realized that it is strictly a timed game which meant that I had to delete it. I think it is extremely short-sighted of a developer to offer a game with no option for a relaxed or untimed mode. Not every player is able to deal with a timed game because of various elements - arthritis, diminished eye sight, slower coordination, etc. Speaking for myself, I DO NOT enjoy playing any game that puts pressure on me to rush through that game. I want to get my money's worth out of game and that does not include having to rush through it. I have a cat and a dog that frequently need attention, my phone rings, I have to go to the bathroom, my doorbell rings - life is full of interruptions and a timed game is so totally not conducive to these types of interruptions. I know there is a pause feature in all games, but untimed is far superior to clicking on the pause feature repeatedly. I am so disappointed because I was ready to hit the "buy" button, but I just do not purchase a game that offers only a timed version. Other than that, it seemed like a fun little game to enjoy - at my own pace, of course.
Story-driven time management fun in a land of wonder!

I have all of the games in this series and enjoy them. I play just for fun since I don't like time restrictions that force me to get through a game quickly. This one has a few things that are new and different which is nice. Time Management games like this one are my main games of choice these days. Big Fish doesn't offer games of this quality nearly as often as they used to. I'm pretty much over and done with the majority of the games that are offered most of the time now, but every once in a while, a high-quality game will surprise me and make my day. Too much of what we are offered now are the same type of game over and over again, but I keep checking each day to see when something special pops up and surprises me.
I recommend this game!
