I LOVE match 3 games. But, having played so many, I want the match 3 games I play to be ...... a bit more entertaining than just making matches.
The graphics are awesome - there's no denying that. Music and sound effects equally so.
There is a storyline ..... but it takes a very long time to get from one point of the story to another. Makes it .... boring.
I DO like the "caveman" era items that you have to match and there are bonuses for making matches of 3 or more. However, as the levels DO get more and more difficult as you go on so DO use those bonuses. The items you match earn you materials to built a village. But, it seems to take FOREVER and A DAY to get enough to purchase anything. Again, making it ...... tedious.
Why, then, do I find this such a ho-hum game? There were a few "hmmmm" moments. For instance, I played on "relaxed" mode (of the 3 available). So, why then did I have to compete with myself for "fantastic - silver star" vs "perfect - gold star"?
With a lackluster storyline and tasks that took far too long to complete, this game is not entertaining, IMO. Therefore, it will not be a purchase for me. Nor do I recommend it for anyone other than beginners, as I believe those more experienced will find it tedious as well.
Please try the demo. It just might be your ...... speed.
BEST BEST BEST BEST ..... VERY BEST Match 3 game EVER!
Uh. Do I like this game??? NO! I LOVE IT! lol
The storyline is exquisite! Not just .... oh, here is a kingdom that was prosperous and went bad. More .... so much more ..... so involved in what happened NOT just to Rivermoor.
The graphics are .... absolutely LOVELY! I almost wish I were living in that beautiful little glade myself! The music and sound effects were also ..... perfect! The narrator .... OMGosh! What CAN'T I say about the narrator. A villager himself who speaks who true voice inflections and feeling. Not too fast and not too slow .... he totally immerses you in the story.
There is a relaxed mode which I recommend to get the MOST out of the game play. You get to choose among 3 cursors. There is a tutorial during the game that is perfect as this is a "different" type of match 3 ... but in no way is it intrusive.
The game itself? Where do I even begin? Yes, it IS a match 3 game .... but OH SO MUCH MORE! It's a game board that moves as you play. Make a match to the right, your game board will move with you. Difficult to explain but oh so fun to play!
Make matches in the "grassy" areas to find things like a pickaxe so you can "use" it on the "rocky" area to take to yet another area. Several areas have walls to knock down by making matches and breaking boxes to get to artifacts, runes, etc. Then, find the exit????
But, wait, there's MORE! The matches you make earns you materials. At the end of each level, use what you've earned in materials to help rebuild the little "Keep/Village".
Oh, there's MORE! Make matches of 3 or more to gain bonuses and power ups! Yes, a story, a building game, a type of hidden object game AND all built into a match 3 game! Who could ever have dreamed this up!
I love match 3 games but it's hard to find one that's truly entertaining. THIS game is not only entertaining but amusing and it keeps you engrossed in what's going to happen NEXT in the story ..... which YOU are a part of!
I had the opportunity to play this on another gaming site and couldn't WAIT for it to be released on BFG so I could purchase it. NOW I CAN!!!! I recommend this for everyone from beginners to experts.
Come join me in Rivermoor and Hollow's Keep and have fun rebuilding the town with amusing game play!
I LOVE solitaire and haven't found a decent game in FOREVER and a DAY!!!!!!!
I had the opportunity to play this game when it was released on a different gaming site and couldn't WAIT until it came out on BFG so I could finally purchase it.
Poor Bella dreams of marrying a handsome, wealthy man. Does she have someone in mind??? But, her brother, gambles away the family fortune! OH NO!!!!! (Is this a guy thing? Lack of common sense??? RFLMAO Sorry guys!!!) NOW, her father is pushing her to marry the dastardly neighbor ..... creepy, yucky, eeeewwwww!!!!!!
The graphics are only ..... (singing) AMAZING!!!!!! Pure and spot on perfect for the era as you move through each of the rooms in Bella's house. The cards are a great size, pictures are easy to see (even for these old eyes), just PERFECTION! Music ...... OMG! Again, perfect for the era .... softly classical but not "I'm getting sleepy" kind of music. Just ..... enchanting.
It's hi/low solitaire but NEVER boring as the storyline continues throughout the game. No voiceovers, but it seems just perfectly right to have to read everything everyone says. There are 2 difficulties - normal and hard. Sorry, I play Normal but WHEN I purchase the game I will play all 180 levels on Normal and then go back and replay them on Hard. wooo-hooo!
There is so much going on in this game that makes it truly entertaining. With the coins you earn during game play, you get to purchase items for Bella (a hand fan, gloves, etc.) or for her home - such FUN! Every item you buy is some kind of power up/bonus for you to use in your game play (for example, Cupid may shoot a random card from the game board, the phoenix burns cards, the lyre will shuffle them and MORE) - WOW! AND, you are offered the opportunity to use the pictures/room/backdrop as a screensaver only every time you make a change!
I CANNOT say enough about this amazingly entertaining and beautiful solitaire game. The actual solitaire game is ALMOST the backdrop of the game as opposed to being the center of attention - lol.
I recommend this game for everyone from beginners to experts ... a great tutorial at the beginning is perfect for newbies. It's fun, it's romantic, it's dazzling and it's ....... PERFECT!
Come meet me in this amazing Pride and Prejudice meets Solitaire game and help Bella make her dream come true!
I LOVE solitaire games. But, this one was so far below par I could not enjoy it.
The graphics were terrible. The game board was dark. And, even though you had the option to change the card faces AND backs, they were difficult to see if you are older or don't have perfect vision, which is a huge deal for me.
It's typical high/low solitaire but you have to get a perfect game (a score of 10) in order to pass on to the next level. Each "level" has 10 "sub-levels" and playing it is similar to playing a game of bowling, IMO.
I liked the game .... it was ok .... until I played a PERFECT game and had no choice to "continue" but HAD to "replay" the hand. I didn't understand it.
There is an annoying tutorial ..... you DO have the option to stop it during game play.
Maybe I was just having a bad day but I really didn't find any entertainment value in this game. Even though it will not be a purchase for me, I will recommend it because I think everyone should play the demo and see if it's for you. It's just NOT my knight in shining armor.
The storyline of this game was .... okay. Space odyssey gone wrong.
The graphics, IMO, were horrible. Black and white only? When was this game developed? It offered NOTHING to the game to make it interesting OR entertaining. I cannot comment on the music/sound fx because I had it turned down (puppy sleeping).
The gist of the game is to get to the "exit" by overcoming obstacles, such as a bed of spikes you don't want to fall in .... or you lose a life. Much like the original Mario Brothers game.
I found too much wrong with this game .... for me.
It was black and white ......... BORING! You COULD choose male or female role BUT there is NO profile to add your name. So, only one person at a time can play? No "options". Mario Brothers type of game play - it's been done and redone. Nothing new here. So, not very entertaining. You use your mouse to start the game but you have no choice but to use the keyboard or arrows to PLAY the game. Sorry, but that just DOES NOT work for me.
For all these reasons, and several more, this game is not for me and not a purchase.
Do I recommend it? Sure, it's an hour demo. It just might be for you.
I usually dislike word games but I absolutely LOVED this game.
The storyline is fun and will keep the kids entertained. There is a female adult lead character and a small child character who are going from place to place looking for a lost diamond in a box of cereal.
The graphics are amazing. Realistic looking bowl of cereal, "word krispies" large enough for even the youngest (or oldest - lol) eyes to see well. I can't comment on the music as I had to turn it down (puppy sleeping on my lap - smile).
The object of the game is to make words with the letters. Using them before they get too soggy and disappear. You make words of 3 or more letters and fill the "tower" by making either a lot of words or large words.
There are 2 game modes - classic, which is untimed or arcade which has a timer. I played "classic" and found it perfect to play with youngters. No time limits makes it fun and not stressful for the little ones.
This is a PERFECT game for the little ones to learn to make words and the older ones to make larger words. I can't say enough of how much I enjoyed it.
Definitely give this demo a try. It has MY vote.
ENJOY!
I recommend this game!

Magic Tea
A delightful color-matching marble-popper game set in a beautifully rendered 3D world.
I thought, with the title "Magic Tea" and a picture of a cute little tea set the game would be unique, more fun than usual and highly entertaining. Boy .... was I ever wrong!
There are 3 different types of ways to play this marble popping game ... classic, arcade and action. All these types are explained quite thoroughly before you begin game play. Pay attention, because there ARE definitive changes in the way the game is played depending on which type you choose to play.
Also, the graphics change depending on which type of game you choose. Sometimes, even bringing the balls extremely close to your field of vision (which CAN be offsetting a bit).
There IS a tea set, of sorts, in each level and you can bounce your "shooter ball" against them in a vain attempt to hit the moving marbles .... in case you can't reach them otherwise. I find this laughable because all you have to do is, literally, align the crosshairs to the exact place you want your "shooter marble" to go and .... shoot. VOILA! I NEVER ONCE hit my mark bouncing anything off the tea sets.
Other than that, it is the usual boring type of marble shooting game. great for beginners. NOT for me so it's definitely NOT a buy.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this game! I beta tested it and it had me hooked from the very beginning. I read the other reviews and I really don't think people understand the gist of the game.
It is NOT designed to be a HOPA or Adventure game. It's NOT designed to be EASY! And there's a reason there's a disclaimer saying if you're depressed or have anxiety or mental (maybe it doesn't mental but, you know, issues) don't play the game.
There has been a real life game around for a few years now called, the Room, where you have to find your way out of a room with very few clues and it's scary and it's hard. This game is exactly like that .... but taken up a few notches.
The game starts with the disclaimer - loud and clear! So, for those who boo-hoo the game's creepiness or whatever, READ and LISTEN TO the Disclaimer.
There's a bad, ugly witchy-type person and a creepy looking good-type witchy person that you interact with at the beginning. LISTEN CLOSELY to what each has to say. You are instructed to find the door with the seal. The seal doesn't appear until you get NEAR the correct door - how cool is that??!! Then, the door takes you BACK to where you started with the 2 witchy-type women who speak to you again. NOW, find the spell ... except there are few to no clues.
There are hands that jump out of pictures - FREAKED ME OUT!!!!! There are portraits that change - did I scream??? YOU BET! Did I get frustrated??? Yes. Because the "journal/diary/clue sheet" didn't work during the beta so I was REALLY working blind.
I haven't had an opportunity to try the demo yet. Hey, being honest here. But, even with the glitches of the beta I couldn't WAIT for this game to be released and now it has and I AM SO GETTING IT!!!!!!
This is NOT designed for people who want "easy", "hand-holding", "lots of clues" and "being pointed in the right direction". This IS a game for those who want haunted house creepiness, few or NO clues, NO sappy mini games, NO easy hand-holdingness (yes, I invented a word), DIFFICULTY at it's BEST and NOTHING like you've ever seen before. Also, maybe a little introspection into yourself???
NOT for beginners. NOT for the feint of heart. NOT for the impatient or easily distracted.
Play the demo. This is a game designed, IMO, for a select group of players. Are you one of them???? Come on and meet me in the room and let's try to escape .... the EMPTINESS.
I was IMMEDIATELY taken in by the amazing graphics. Not so much the sound effects. Turned the music down so I can't comment on that.
The first thing I noticed was ..... you can't change the profile o only 1 player can play. Also, there were many ...... M-A-N-Y ..... boxes at the bottom of the screen such as "Inventory", "Store", "Diary" and more ... LOTS more. But, there was no explanation as to why these were there, what to do with them, what significance any of them played in the game.
The "gist" of the game is fairly simple. .... or so I thought. Drag a colored item to make matches of 3 or more like colors. Earn bonuses ... but how do you use them? The "lightning bolt" was explained very well. But, what did the fireball do? When I placed it on a tile, it just sat there ..... nothing happened.
Then, somehow I "ran out of moves", was "defeated"??? How did this happen??? Wish I knew.
A game that has such amazing graphics SHOULD be an amazing game to play .... but it's not. It had such amazing potential ..... but failed miserably.
Don't waste your time with the demo. I couldn't even begin to explain how to play this game and I LOVE match 3s. If you do choose to try it ......
So, Chaos (a dragon) has destroyed the abode of the gods. Now what? Don't know because that's where the story starts ..... and ends.
The graphics are ok ... in that they just sit there and do nothing. The music is ok but the snapping sound when you make groups of 2 or more is annoying.
The gist of the game is to complete a level by making groups of 2 or more like colors. You get bonuses in the form of bombs and super-bombs by making mega-groups, etc. You have "goals" to achieve to complete each level. The first few levels, I had to get a numeric goal - i.e., get 5,000 points. No probs. The next group of levels I played, I had to break tiles (i.e., 35 or 48) also by making groups. No probs here either.
What's the rub? You only have "x" number of moves to do this in, and for the first 10 levels or so, it's pretty easy.
Fail a level? Uh oh! What do I do????? Replay the level OR purchase 5 extra moves. It just seems you cannot lose.
The game is boring, lacks entertainment value, isn't really a group matching game nor a strategy game .... or maybe it's both. Regardless, the snapping game me such a headache I last exactly 17 levels and 32 minutes. Enough for me, IMO, to write a quickie review.
Not a purchase for me, but please feel free to give it a try .... just watch out for the awful snapping noise.
