While the game description gets us all revved up on the possibility of making matches of pairs of like colored bubbles, it neglects to inform us that this is more a game of strategy, stealth and speed (hah - the 3 s's!).
Strategy because you have to figure out just which 2 like colored bubbles to go after because, while the octopus CAN hold 4 bubbles, remember that it also has to MATCH at least 1 to keep an open "hole".
Stealth because you have to move in a fashion that will NOT get your octopus to the top and thereby drown by air?
Speed because you had better work fast or, at least once you level up past 10, your octopus will find itself in trouble - either having 4 balls and it cannot match a single one or because your moving it too slowly to make the appropriate matches in time.
Also, if you get "game over" in levels 1-10 you have to start over from Level 1 again. Levels 11-20 same thing. You could be at Level 19 and get "game over" and have to start back at Level 11. But, be careful, because the octopus will go back to Level 1 unless you manually move it up to the next back of levels.
I don't do well in games of strategy or speed so this is definitely NOT a purchase for me. I suppose I could recommend it for those people who have nothing better to do than be bored out of their minds by a senseless, pointless game but .... I won't
Happy Gaming!
I don't recommend this game.

When I played this game there were exactly 2 reviews here and I read both, wondering if they had played a different game than I had because ALL I did for the l-o-n-g-e-s-t 30 minutes (couldn't last another 30 of the demo) was go from one place (Mike's) to another (Kellie's) over and over and over.
How do you get anywhere else? Where are the mini games I read about? And the hints? I'd earn them and then lose them so I couldn't even USE them!
The strangest, most boring, non-nonsensical game I have ever had the misfortune of playing.
Run, quick, and find another game worth your hour. This one is definitely not it.
I don't recommend this game.

I hope the real Australian Zoo doesn't have as many issues as this game does.
This is a game of hurry up! Because if you don't move fast enough to get a string of 3 or more like animals together, you get slimed with a "sickness" and as long as that particular animal is slimed, NONE of the animals of that ilk can earn you points. Thereby keeping you from reaching the points you need to complete the level. So, you need to have fast fingers to play this game and hope to achieve ... well ... anything.
The issues I had while trying to play were limitless. From trying to make a string of like animals and suddenly part of my string disappeared, to trying to make a string and one or more of the animal pictures not registering, to the wrong animals getting attached to a string (NOT user error).
This could have been such an amazing learning tool for children with the information that was given about the animals at the end of each level, but, there was just too much wrong going on. Not to mention none of the animals (at least up to level 7) were Australian in nature. HUH?
For ALL these reasons and more, this is definitely NOT a purchase for me. I also cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone and not feel guilty that they were wasting their time. Want to know more about an Australian Zoo? Go visit one on vacation.
I don't recommend this game.

This is an amazing game where you are a vet tech working your way up the ranks by treating a variety of endangered animals.
First, ask the right questions, then you might check breathing or examine a wound, take x-rays, ultrasounds, etc. Then, you treat with various meds including IV fluids, oral meds, giving stitches, etc. All this is done under the supervision of the main zoo doc. Your goal is to reach 1000 points for each patient you treat. If you mess up, don't worry, you can try again (4x actually).
I had so much fun doing this and learned so much (you eventually get to take a test so you can be promoted so pay attention to everything you do) about the animals and their problems. My daughter would LOVE this game. She's wanted to be a vet or work with animals in some capacity since she was little (she's now training to be a nurse).
This is definitely NOT a game for children but I think any adult would enjoy at least trying the free demo. It was over before I knew it.
I recommend this game!

If you take the daily challenge, which comprises of over 8 puzzles, you WILL be thoroughly challenged because each puzzle is harder than the one before it.
Or, you can pick and choose your puzzles as you wish, making them more conducive to what you feel like playing.
Either way, this daily puzzle game will keep you on your toes with each new game you play. For myself, personally, this game takes up too much time, is not relaxing and takes up too much brain power (lol).
I do enjoy a variety of puzzle games out there. I own books and books of them but I don't like my puzzles to be so hard it takes forever and a day to figure them out. So, this will not be a purchase for me. But, I do encourage everyone who likes puzzles of every kind to give this a try. The worst that can happen is you choose not to finish the free hour-long demo.
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

The storyline is weak. Graphics poor. Sound equally poor.
Storyline:
You are in a bus (but where is everyone else) and talking to the bus driver (huh? oh well, it is the 1960's). You are running through a cornfield, see a little girl on a swing who disappears into ash, then you see a freaky scarecrow and a huge crow. The bus driver asks you if you had a dream because you had been sleeping. Hmmm, you wonder as the scene passing by you is EXACTLY as in your dream (remind you of a certain movie series?). Suddenly, crows fly into the windshield, the bus crashes into a gully and you're trapped inside while the bus driver is somehow lying on the ground outside. Not a good flow at all. Where are you headed and why? Where is everyone else on the bus?
Graphics:
Poor. Apparently you are on your way to Kansas but the scenery is more desert-like than cornfields and flat land. Everything is suitably creepy. But, the colors were too monochromatic. The live actors seemed out of place.
Sound:
Background music was suitably creepy and sound effects were good - clear and easy to hear. Voiceovers were horrible, the actors' voices were not even with the sound. Good thing you could read your way through.
Game Play:
Here is where things don't flow well. You apparently find your way to a creepy, run-down motel that hasn't been used in years. You have rescued a woman and her baby (but to what end?) and have met a psychic who, so far, has only given you a recipe for a potion that's supposed to heal the bus driver's wound but instead turns him into a zombie that kidnaps the baby. End of demo.
HOGs:
Not plentiful and very interactive. Find item 1, put it to use and find another item. This continues until you have found all the items and are left with 1 - that will go into your inventory. No instructions given - you have to figure this out yourself.
Mini Games:
More than HOGs. Vary from easy to fairly difficult. There is a reset button. Skip takes forever.
There are 4 levels of difficulty - casual, normal, expert and custom. "Custom" does not allow you to change the recharge for the hint or skip buttons. There is no tutorial. You ultimately find a camera which you keep and which contains your strategy guide, Help (instructions for the game), Shots (pictures automatically taken by your camera and adds your notes to them) and Entries (your notes). You also find a map which shows where you are and where action is needed. It doesn't seem like you visit many places but you do go back and forth quite a bit. I thought it wasn't transportable but ONCE it did transport me to a location - then no more. The hint button is helpful and recharges fairly quickly.
This is definitely a creepy game ... with zombies. The story doesn't flow well. I encourage everyone to try it. You get an amazing 90 minutes to play and the demo is free. Who knows? Maybe you'd enjoy a night at the Fright Motel!!!
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS GAME!
I just finished playing the demo and doing an almost rave review for the previous game, Brickquest. Well, shame on me because this version is soooooooooooooooo much better and has sooooooooooooo much more to offer. Did I mention I LOVE THIS GAME! LOL.
Besides knowing you need to rescue the poor little Gwamos from their cages, everything else is trial by fire, so to speak (because there really is fire). Several reviewers griped about not having a tutorial or help page or instructions so they know what to expect - what bonus does what - what helps and what hinders your game play. Come on people! That's part of the fun of playing this game --- YOU have to figure it all out and, really, it's not that difficult after you catch a falling whatever a few times, you should grasp what it does - DUH!
The bonuses are better - to go along with the amazing graphics, stunning scenery (what out for those foreground plants, etc.), beautiful, relaxing music and, dang it ... it just isn't fair when the graphics and things going on during game play distract you so much you can't concentrate on your tiny little ball - like ghoulies and ghosties and things that go bump in the night! Having said that, it took me 2 worlds to get an extra life, when in the previous version of this game, extra lives were just raining upon me left and right and down the middle .. yeah, I do miss that. Still, I LOVE THIS GAME!
Free the Gwamo before breaking all the bricks or abort the level because if your OCD like I am, you are going to want to free ALL the Gwamos in each specific "world" and if you don't get them all the first time around, you have to replay the ENTIRE world - why can't we just replay the levels that still have captured Gwamos in them? Bummer and this needs a major change.
The graphics, the scenery, the music, the singing at the opening scene - I just don't know what it is about this version that has me saying bye-bye-bye to my plans of getting the previous version. But, this is a definite buy for me. I almost hit the "buy" button when the free demo ended but I'm weird, I guess, I have to wait for Bonus Punch Monday.
Obviously, I highly recommend everyone who likes a good brick-breaking game to try this one. The demo is a very quick hour-long and it's free. I didn't think I would but ..... I LOVE THIS GAME! Did I mention that already? LOLOL.
Happy Gaming!

At first, I was prepared to really dislike this game. But, after playing for a while, it kind of grew on me. So, don't give up on it until you finish the demo, then decide.
The fact that I was able to garner 11 lives and make it up to 20+ levels in my first try gave me the impression that this game was easy, because generally, I get killed off before the 5th/6th levels on my first try. But, after playing, I realized there was a LOT going on that impressed me.
Things to watch out for: The scenery is incredible, BUT, just as the background scenery is breathtaking (in world one it was all foresty and plants, trees, etc.) so does that enhance in the foreground. Meaning, when your paddle is going back and forth across the screen, trying NOT to lose your ball, there are plants and flowers and trees in the FOREGROUND hiding your paddle from you at what could be really important moments in the game play - say, when you're trying NOT to lose a ball but can't see it for the flowers.
Watch out for things like Panda bears tossing huge boulders down upon your ball. Bees that bounce your ball back on you and many other pitfalls.
The good things to watch out for? Amazing graphics, great music, tons and tons and tons of bonuses. Never saw a brick breaking game before that gave out so many extra lives - and you will need them in the higher levels.
My impression when the free demo ended was that this game has a LOT of levels. I played for the hour and got through "world one" and part of "world two". Each world has its own scenic view.
I started playing a game that I didn't think I'd like and ended the hour hooked on a game that I could play for hours on end - no stress, no bother. A nice, relaxing, brick-breaking game. Oh, and here's another good part - when you lose all your lives you DON'T have to start the game over from level 1. You pick up where you left off. LOVE IT!
This is definitely going on my wish/purchase list and I encourage everyone to try this great game. If you've never played this type of game before, this is the perfect one to learn on.
Happy Gaming!

Unfortunately, I do not own the first game in this series but, after playing the demo, I am convinced that was an egregious oversight on my part. LOL
I had so much fun and being able to multi-queue activities was a great plus! I even played the demo while playing "tug toy" with my puppy! You just click on what needs to be done and off go your little worker bees. Plus, there are bonuses such as "speed up the workers" and "extra materials" and "get an extra worker". You have to scare away Hera because SHE scares your workers!
I had such a great time playing the free demo (and playing with my puppy) that when it blinked out because the free demo was over, I got my personal "wow" factor. Which is "OH NO! NOT YET!". That means, for me, this is a buy for me. I played on relaxed so maybe that's cheating but, whatever LOL.
I encourage everyone to try this free demo. Even if you've never played a building game because of the time management feature, try this and play on "relaxed" mode. I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy yourself at least a little.
Happy Gaming!

First off, this game really deserves 3 stars but I gave 1 extra for the mini games.
I can't figure out if the female character in the game is a doctor or investigator because she's referred to as "Dr." but she proceeds to investigate. Hmmmmm. Then, her attitude is snarky and disrespectful to those around her straight away from the beginning - didn't much care for that.
The hidden object games (HOGs) were horrible. The graphics were all grays and shaded and muted colors. There were hundreds of items and you had to find your teeny-tiny items in that mix up. It was virtually impossible. You can use a hint but it costs you 2 minutes of your time. Don't fret, when you level up to a new area your time starts again at 135.00.
The mini games were so much fun. Innovative and creative. THAT'S what the 4th star was far. I so enjoyed playing them I wish I could have gone back and just played the mini games. They were not difficult in the least and the instructions were fairly straightforward.
All in all, I suppose those who don't mind getting eye strain and the resulting headache will enjoy this game. However, though I did muddle through the HOGs (just to get to the mini games) this will not be a buy for me. Too many issues need fixing. I will, however, encourage everyone to give this game a try. The demo is an hour long and it's free.
