I have always had the most trouble in the world trying to play games like this. But, the Fantasy Mosaic series really taught me the basic mechanics of the game.
The background music is so soothing you don't even know it's there after a while.
Strategy when placing your pieces on the tile and a lot of patience is needed. You do get bonuses in terms of hints and a hammer that fills up and you can use it to check if a single tile gets a "move" or is "empty".
I never in a million years thought I would enjoy this type of game. I have no patience and am not really a strategic person but this series of games did a great job teaching me how to play and I hope everyone will take advantage of the free hour and try it.
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

There actually is no storyline per se. In the land of Charma lived little fuzz-balls known as Charmies. One day, evil invaded their harmonious, happy town but the Charmies ran away and found a new happy, fun-filled place to live. Beginning, middle and end of story. So, what we are doing since they don''t need rescuing or relocating and no big baddies are after them is beyond me. LOL
This plays somewhat like a marble shooter game, except instead of making a match 3 or more to clear the like colored Charmies, you are swapping them while this stream of multi colored Charmies is speeding down the runway.
I enjoyed the game but didn't get the wow factor so it's not a buy. I do encourage everyone to try it. It is fun and it sounds like they are saying "eight ball" when you swap them around.
Happy Gaming!

I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed this game given that I do not like time management games - and don't think that little tidbit of information was indicated on the game description page - lol.
You have graduated potion academy (or whatever the school is called) and now are a mage of alchemy in your own right. It's time to get those clients coming to your home.
You start off with a very good tutorial. It teaches you how to bring a client into your home/office, find out what ails him/her, diagnose which potion they need, put the ingredients together to make it and FINALLY start the match 3 game.
That sounds like a lot but you'll get the hang of it very quickly.
The match 3 part of the game is just any other match 3 game - match 3 or more like items and they will form little bubbles .... pop. This is the 2nd easiest part of the game.
The easiest part of the game is when you have to buy upgrades. Just click on "buy recommended upgrades" and you will never have to ponder those decisions again - and maybe make a wrong decision for your shop. The upgrades just show up in your shop in terms of wall hangings, rugs, new potions and ingredients and so on - BEST feature of this game.
Again, except for the time management aspect of the game (there is a relaxed mode of play and a challenge mode), this would have been a buy for me. But, even on relaxed I felt pressured and stressed and that's not why I buy games.
I do, however, encourage everyone to try this game. it's fun, the background music soothing, and even the popping of the match 3s is enjoyable. Who knew?
Happy Gaming!

Young Alice has amazing powers. Unfortunately, on her 12th birthday they magnified, allowing her to make portals to other worlds/dimensions using any mirror as her "traveling point". One day, her parents (Pierre and Belle), find her in her bed in a coma-like state. Oh no! They can't rouse her! GASP! Beside her is a broken hand mirror! Pierre! She's in her floor-length mirror! HELP HER!
Yeah, if it just that easy, right? NOT. There's a creepy, very Pirates of the Caribbean, type creature that goes into said mirror .... AFTER freaking you out. How can you save her? What is the significance of the doll house? What are those creepy pictures she drew telling you? Pierre becomes injured - it's up to Belle to rescue her poor daughter. Are YOU up to the task?
Graphics/Sound:
I was almost overjoyed that the graphics were not heavily colored in golds and oranges and other colors that hurt my eyes. Background music dipped and crescendo-ed as appropriate for situations. Great sound fx. Pierre didn't sound French though.
HOGs/Mini Games:
HOGs not difficult. Items relatively easy to find. Some interaction. Mini Games ranged from relatively easy to it takes some thought.
There are 4 levels of difficulty - Casual Reader, Bookworm, Scholar and Choose Your Own (Custom). Once you find the map (transportable) and journal (contains notes, clues and tasks) you are on your way.
CE Bling:
Among the usual:
Concept Art - 14, Wallpaper - 10, Music - 10 tracks, Stragegy Guide and Achievements there are Tower Defense (finish this puzzle in the game), Travelers (finish the Bonus Game before being unlocked), Collectibles, Bonus Game AND Hidden Chapters (how cool is that?).
This is an amazing game involving not just Belle, Pierre and little Alice, but characters from the previous game. You'll need everyone's help solving this dreadful tale. It's definitely a buy for me. I encourage everyone to try this game - you get an amazing 90 minutes of game time and it's FREE!
Happy Gaming!

This is a great marble shooting game. I don't understand where the "find the artifacts" comes into though.
As in any marble shooting game, you have a shooter at the bottom of the page that has a marble of one color or another. You need to shoot that marble into a quickly racing stream of multi-colored marbles making a match of 3 or more to destroy them.
Runes will then come down and reverse, stop, etc. the stream of marbles. You can "buy" artifacts with cash you earn during gameplay (don't know how that works) in the form of "lightning rod", "single bomb", "line of bomb", "extra lives". The higher you level up, the more varied the "artifacts" you can purchase becomes. Buy as many as possible because as you level up (level 8 and above) you will need them. It's about then you can become complacent with how easy this game is and then WHAM it gets really, really hard.
I had several issues (my personal only) with this game. I never knew exactly what the various runes meant - not explained anywhere/ At one point in the game, during the level where there were 2 sets of lines I was trying to destroy at the same time, my "shooter" wouldn't have the color I thought I had. It would show yellow, then blue and so on. Confused me and made game play extremely difficult. Then, a line of marbles would get bombed out but I wondered if that was a game bonus or was my shooter so close to my artifacts (bonuses you buy - I mean, call them what they are) that I was clicking on them instead of my shooter?
I played the hour free demo and only got up to level 14 and there are 60 levels. With the do-over levels and the extremely hard levels and losing all your lives, this promises to be a long game.
For the reasons mentioned above, this is not a buy for me, however, if you enjoy this type of game, give it a try.
Happy Gaming!

You are stranded, a castaway, on a deserted island. Play solitaire and HOGs (hidden object games) to receive a piece of the map of the island that will show you how to get back home.
The music was the most appropriate I've ever heard for this type of game. It SAID "I am stranded on an island." "This is not good". At least that's what I got out of it. There were no actual words - it was just ...... creepy.
I had several problems with the game - my own problems which may not be yours. First, I never had a problem passing the solitaire levels so that became rather boring. Second, I love HOGs but the items were often the same color as the monochromatic background. You are looking for items under the ocean. Come on now, everything under the ocean is NOT bluish-gray (more gray). I thought, ok, fire extinguisher will be red - NOT - it was the same bluish-gray as the background. Plus, the items are impossibly small (tiny really) and all the more impossible to find. That made that part of the game unenjoyable to me.
If not for those glaring things, this game would have been a buy for me. But, I can't get past an HOG that sabotages the player by having a list of items that are impossible to find. I do, however, encourage those who enjoy solitaire and/or HOGs to try this free, hour-long demo.
Happy Gaming!

I love Mahjong. Let's just get that out of the way. Which makes me very pernickety about the Mahjong games I purchase. They have to meet certain criteria which includes, but is not limited to, enjoyment of the game play, no timed games, a variety of tiles and layouts. You get this and more in this game.
The background was so soothing I fell asleep - ok, guys, I had a really, really rough week so don't judge. The tile sets were definitely all Christmas related (didn't even have the classic tile set) but the game play was strictly your typical Mahjong game with a twist.
Yes, you play the typical way, clear the tiles from the board by matching like symbols. However, at the beginning of each level you are given a set of criteria to meet to receive up to 3 stars - such as collect "x" number of gold tiles (you can't pass the level without collecting them all anyway so I found this rather moot), pass the level in "x" number of moves and I frankly don't remember the third. You can always go back and redo a level (layout) if you got less than 3 stars.
So, this would definitely be a buy for me EXCEPT for the 3 stars thing. I would totally be weird enough to redo any level that was less than 3 stars over and over and over and over until I got 3 stars in EVERY level. To some, that's a goal to shoot for. To me, playing on relaxed mode, THAT would drive me so crazy, the game would cease to be either relaxing or enjoyable.
However, please do try this game. It's such an enjoyable Christmas game. I think you will wish for it under your BF tree.
Happy Gaming!

So, the game description says we're supposed to capture invading furballs and save the world's candy. But, the game play tutorial describes it totally differently. According to the game, you are rescuing furballs from a world OF candy - in essence SAVING the furballs - not capturing them. And then, after umpteen million levels have passed, some quickly multiplying FRUIT balls appear and you have to destroy them. So, several questions.
1. Where is the candy?
2. Are we rescuing the furballs or capturing them? Two quite different things.
3. If we manage to use 3 furballs of one color (or one color plus a flashing one) to capture the remaining ones, why do we HAVE to use, say, 6 total? Makes no sense. Unless it's designed that way to make the game harder. In which case, it does.
The way you capture (or rescue) the furballs is thusly: There are say 3 blue furballs. Then, floating around this circle are several more furballs of varying colors. Make a triangle using the 3 blue furballs and capture (or rescue) the others INSIDE said triangle. If you have 4 or more furballs to use to capture (or rescue) the others, you MUST use all 4 but you only have to capture (or rescue) one at a time. Although, the more you - let's just call it what it is - TRAP at one time the higher your overall level score is.
It's a game of strategy (of which I'm not any good) and extreme patience (of which I have NONE). So, definitely not a buy for me. But, if you have unlimited amounts of patience (which makes you a saint in my book) and are good at strategy games (which makes you a genius in my book) then this game is perfect for you and you should give it a try. Otherwise, steer clear of this planetary mess or it'll drive you nuts.
Happy Gaming!

Professor is missing but he called Lara to discuss an important artifact. Lara goes to Italy in search of clues. She knows that the talismans have been scattered somewhere around the University, but where? Go from room to room and back again - without benefit of a transportable map so this becomes tedious very quickly - finding clues and talismans (7).
Graphics/Sound:
Graphics are poorly done. Looks like a handpainted sketch. Sound was muted so I couldn't tell you much. No voiceovers - all reading - which also can become quite tedious.
HOGs/MiniGames:
This is a heavy HOG game. Every room you enter, there is an HOG to play. Problem is, the items are so difficult to find I got a headache. Mini Games were fun and relatively easy. Clues are in your journal.
I really wanted to like this game but the story line was weak, lacked continuity and form. The HOGs gave me a headache and there was way to much back and forthing for my taste. My knees were actually beginning to hurt.
For these and several other reasons, this will not be a buy for me but I do encourage everyone to give this game a try. Could be just what you're looking for.

Horrible, boring HOG game.
This is definitely a heavy HOG game. Every step you take, you are playing another HOG. Personally, I don't love them quite THAT much.
I could have enjoyed it, though, had the items not been so tiny, so very, very tiny, that I couldn't find them among the hundreds of other items they were among. The hint button was useless as it took forever and a day (or two) to recharge.
The story lacked form and continuity
All told, this was a miserable try at developing a game that may have had some potential, but it has too many issues to be any fun. This will not be a buy for me. However, I encourage everyone to try it yourself. You'll only lose an hour of your time.
Who knows, maybe trying to find those impossible items in the HOGs you won't get a headache like I did.
I recommend this game!
