I just didn't quite get this game. Maybe I was too tired to play - don't know.
Storyline:
You have somehow, through an origami, found an open portal to another world. You are a journalist and you are tired of your job. You wish/dream of going to another more exciting world. Now, the fun begins.
Graphics:
Not the best - not the worst.
Sound:
I apologize - unless it really gets to me I tune out most sound.
Gameplay:
You go through various portals to various addresses in search of....something. You help the characters you meet. So, I guess you fulfill quests in order to gain information that keeps you leading you elsewhere. You discover a mystery. A cry for help. And you get addresses from the various characters and off you go.
HOGs:
Many. This is an HOG-heavy game. Unfortunately, most times the items are so small (even after I changed options to wide screen) that you result in random clicking - for which there is a penalty.
Mini Games:
You have to play one mini game (at least) in each level/site/place you go to. I found them very easy (i.e., move the pieces around to make the picture).
The hint button takes a full minute to recharge. So use it wisely.
I guess the game IS, to a degree, fully of mystery and intrigue. Who wrote the cry for help? WHEN was it written. WHERE was it written. All the appropriate "W's" a good writer asks. Who, what, where, when and why. Ok, I paid attention to that in school. The game, however, can also be cheesy at times.
This Glam-ma says it was a cute little game but not worth the little disposable income I have every month. Nor a credit. However, saying that, please do try the free demo. You have nothing to lose but an hour and you might truly enjoy this game.
Happy Gaming.
I recommend this game!

I don't even know where to start - this game was THAT good!!!! And I do not give out 5 stars that easily.
Opening Scene:
There is a young man running for his life - doors are locked - he finally gets outside but is swallowed by a black fog and dragged back into the house.
Storyline:
You (Sophia) and your sister (Hope) decide to go on a bus tour of haunted houses. The last stop on the trip is the "House on the Hill" (Sound familiar? Yeah, thought so.) Apparently, it was only recently opened by the owner. You are there only a moment when you hear a scream and watch your sister disappear behind a wall while there stands a black shrouded figure. Now you are determined to go through this Haunted House and find her.
Graphics:
Can you say...only AMAZING!? The characters are so real, as if you were watching a home movie - THAT real. The way they move, and talk (tonal quality as well as lip syncing and body movement - I LOVE games like this. And it continues through the game play. Thank you devs.) The mansion is stunningly beautiful from the outside. I repeat - from the outside. Colors gorgeous - greens of plants, rust color of sign over the driveway announcing the house's name. Colors of clothes people are wearing - all amazing.
.
Sound:
Whoa ..... May I just say WHOA? I don't recall any music, per se, however, the sound effects are amazingly real and spot on. Doors creaking, sounds of ghosts (?) moaning and crying and spirits (?) talking (to each other?). At one point, I remember thinking "wow, creepy". Very good sign - lol. I do love the creepy.
Gameplay:
Again, you trying to find your sister, Hope - I apologize if I got the names attached to the wrong sister - I am no good with names. You will come across characters who need your help. For instance, a man who was going to buy the house with his wife but was locked inside with no way out and is now being held on to by the tentacles of a plant. This, I believe, is the man from the opening scene - rescue him. The tour bus driver, find his heart medication - quickly. So, it would appear that you have "quests" to complete to gain information about how to find your sister, whom you last saw on an outside ledge near a closed window.
The HOGs are moderately easy. The hint button here takes an extremely long time to recharge. There is a random click penalty. So far, all I've come across are itemized lists, with some interaction necessary. Nothing dark, nothing tiny. Even the sparkles were beautiful.
Mini Games:
The ones I came across were definitely not easy but the instructions were very specific. The "skip" button takes a definite while to charge. I skipped through for the most part to get back into game play. When I purchase the game, I will have more time to devote to the mini games. HAH! "WHEN" I buy the game?! Guess I must be hooked already - lol.
There are 3 modes of play: Casual, Expert and Professional. You have a diary which takes a lot of notes but there may be clues in reading. The hint button is in the form of a castle or mansion - a duplicate of where you are. And it recharges faster than I've ever seen one recharge before. You eventually get possession of a map (you have to find it) which is not only jumpable but shows you where you currently are and where you need to fulfill an objective. I anticipate a longish game as the map shows a first and second floor as well as a basement. There is a short tutorial.
CE Bling:
Bonus Story
Collectibles - TONS - you need to find a heart in each scene of the game. However, when you find a heart you don't get the usual message (i.e., 3 of 25 or however many there are). There is a huge heart you can go to in "Extras" at the main Menu page and count them all but, trust me, there are a TON of them and very easy to find.
Achievements - 15.
Music - 5 tracks.
Wallpaper - I believe there are only 4, I could definitely be wrong, as they were locked up.
Concept Art - 7 beautiful pictures.
I did not see anything for "screensaver" nor did I see a Strategy Guide. One of the reasons I usually buy a CE is for the inclusion of a strategy guide. During the demo, I certainly did not need one, however, I do like one to be available, especially in a CE.
So, I think I've covered everything in the demo - NOT!~ So MUCH went on I could not possibly remember all the details and game play. I can say this, I haven't had this "WOW" feeling when a demo ends in a long time. I very loudly exclaimed - WHAT???? Are you kidding me??? "WOW" factor - lol. Obviously, I was hooked.
This Glam-ma says please try this game. I hope you enjoy it half as much as I did. I will certainly be making this a purchase this weekend. Happy Gaming.
I recommend this game!

I have already discovered the most amazing jigsaw puzzle game on the BF site and as much as I wish I could shout from the highest mountain what it is or how to find it, I can't. Just like me, you're going to have to stumble upon it.
What I can say about this game is that I personally would not waste either my money or a credit on ANY jigsaw game that only offered 40 pictures. Yes, you can finagle rotations, shapes of pieces, and how many pieces. But, seriously, how many times do you want to do the same 40 pictures over and over and over? I hate to say it, but there are MANY other jigsaw games at BF that outshine what this one has to offer.
This Glam-ma says try the demo - it only costs you an hour's time. But this isn't one game that's going into my repertoire. And I cannot in good conscience recommend it.
I don't recommend this game.

than the first game - "Escape The Museum". I thoroughly enjoyed this demo - a lot.
Storyline:
Here I am a teensy bit confused. Dad (you) is on the couch (apparently he has some blood pressure problems), mom (Susan) has taken Caitlin to the museum for the day but promises to be back for Thanksgiving dinner. They leave, an earthquake happens, dad gets up (with that thing the devs like to do where you're slowly opening your eyes), shouts that the lines must be down and he has to get to the museum. YAY Dad to the rescue! Now, before I continue - is this the same earthquake as in the first game "Escape The Museum" but from dad's perspective, or is this ANOTHER earthquake and this family is just having rotten luck? I wish THAT little tidbit had been better explained, especially if someone is going to play both games back to back. Or at least play the demos back to back as I did.
Graphics:
Amazing! So much better than in the first game. Bright, colors amazing and all the colors spot on and not all monochromatic - green plants, yellow car, red fire hydrant, just a world awash in color.
Sound:
Sound effects also pretty good. Music? Sorry, I am a grandma who has learned to tune things out. But the voices, and there was a lot of talking going on, which I love in a game, were spot on regarding tonal quality. If there was surprise, the voice sounded legitimately surprised. Some games lose something in the translation.
Gameplay:
So, you (dad) have now "come to" (you know how devs like to do that slow eye-opening thing), holler that "oh, what happened? Was there an earthquake?" And off you go to find your keys, phone and map. You realize the circuits are all busy and make the heroic decision to go to the museum and rescue your loved ones. You open the door and come face to face with ...... either the town weirdo (which is what I thought when he asked you to find his collection of tiny cars - and you did), a transient or someone else. Whomever he is, he is now your helper - located at the top right of your screen. Wave your cursor around up there a bit, he'll come out. He actually gives you a lot of informative help, much more than a hint button would.
HOGs:
Many, many, many, many. This is an HOG heavy game. You will see sparkles whenever there is an HOG for you to open up and play. And there will generally be several places in one area to find them. Especially as you get farther into the game. I LOVE that in this sequel (?) the list of items you have to find is clear. Also, the items you have to find are not tiny, are not hiding, necessarily, where you would never be able to find them and are not monochromatic with the surroundings. Saying that, however, at the first group of HOGs I had to play, I played them all, got my items, but then ended up going back to one of the HOGs, replaying the exact same list as earlier only to get the same inventory items I had received - earlier. Those items had simply disappeared. If you don't do the steps in the appropriate order is this what happens? I didn't run into that again. A glitch perhaps?
HOGs:
Many, many, many and many more. This is an HOG laden game. In each area you need to accomplish something, there will be several HOGs for you to complete. There are the prerequisite sparkles so you can find them easily. The list of items you need to find is clear, the items you need to find are easy to find, not necessarily hidden behind or under something nor set in a monochromatic tone with the surroundings. If you do require a hint during the HOG, never fear, your helper is there in the form of a snapshot picture. You can't miss him. I'm not quite sure he even needs recharging it happens that fast.
So, you have a jumpable map, which shows where you need to go, where you need to go back and continue doing something and where you have finished. In the lower right hand of the screen is what looks like one of those machines in a hospital that takes your vitals - the noisy ones. It tells you how long it took to complete the level (why?), the distance to the museum (I guess that would be helpful) and your heart rate in bpm's (beats per minute). If you randomly click in an HOG your heart rate starts to escalate. That's pretty cool, actually.
You also have a small backpack in that same corner. When you click on it, it says "inventory". Well, no. Since you use your inventory items right away, you don't store them in the backpack. But I did pick up an item which I believe will be used to rebuild a bridge. And THAT'S the inventory being referred to. Also, on the right hand of the page (inventory on the left) is something called "Side Missions" with black silhouetted items. What the heck is this, I asked self. Self said, hmmm, don't rightly know. Well, Self and I finally figured it all out. It seems dad had to go back to one of the uncompleted areas and there was found a cute dog - whose picture went into the first silhouetted slot at the top of the page. Our "side mission" was to find it's owners. Voila, the mystery of the side missions solved. Although, in actuality, it appears there are quite a few side missions to solve. - lol.
All in all, a most enjoyable game. Much more so than the first one (feel free to go to my review of that game - not quite so stellar I'm afraid). In any case, this Glam-ma says please do try the free demo. If you don't enjoy it as much as I did, you have only lost an hour. It will certainly be on my Wish List (hear that kids?) Happy Gaming.
I recommend this game!

I would have rated this game 1 star for overall rating but I dislike the word "hate" and therefore will never do that. 2 stars is the worst it will get so in my life that's pretty terrible.
Storyline:
You (Susan - hey! That's my name too~) have brought your little daughter into the museum where you apparently work to be your "assistant" for the day. Then, the building starts to rumble, dust is falling from the ceiling and you put your precious, little, daughter in the Security Office and leave her....by herself.....a little girl......in an earthquake....with the parting words that she can watch you on the monitors. What if the monitors go out, mom? Who does that? Anyway, you go back out to the dinosaur room and are apparently hit on the head by falling ceiling concrete/tiles. You awaken and cannot reach anyone by walkie-talkie. Finally, someone named "Marcus" reaches you and convinces you it's more important to get to the surviving artifacts than it is to get to your daughter. And you let him convince you to do just that. Already I'm unhappy with where this game is going.
Graphics: Dreary. Everything seems to be monochromatic. Characters and scenes seem to be hand painted.
Sound: Sorry, I tune music out. Although there was conversation over the phone between Susan and Marcu which was very clear and easy to hear. Not what I would have expected after an earthquake of that caliber - it took down most of the museum. I've been in earthquakes when I lived in CA. I've even had the misfortune to be the epicenter of one. Phones are sketchy at best.
Gameplay:
I am going to skip over modes of difficulty, etc. and get right to the meat of the gamplay. Either you were in a room that had a blocked access and you had to find items to get yourself out, or you received a list by phone from Marcus of artifacts/items you needed to locate in a specific room. There was a map that showed where you were located in the museum and your movement flowed pretty well from room to room.
HOGs:
Awful. There were so many items over such a large area and they were so small I don't know how you would have found them. And if you used a hint you got a points penalty. So, here's a hint button we've given you - just don't use it. And in the rooms where you're only finding items to get your out of the blocked access, there are no hints whatsoever.
This game had so many problems with it I only played for roughly 30 minutes.
This Glam-ma was highly disappointed and expected so much more but that's not to say that this won't be exactly the challenge you like. So, take the free hour and give it a whirl. Happy Gaming.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a Mahjong game without anything special going for it. There are 2 modes of play - relaxed and timed. There are only 3 tiles to choose from and the layouts were pre-formed. There were 10 layouts per page/2 pages per level. The puzzles themselves were very easy. I had absolutely no problem with them whatsoever.
Graphics:
Kind of dark actually. You could still tell the gold tiles from the regular tiles but the atmosphere was dark.
Sound:
Music was so relaxing I fell asleep. Yeppers. Fell right to sleep in the middle of a game. Go Figure.
Gameplay:
As I mentioned above, there is really nothing special, intriguing or extraordinary about t his game. It's actually quite boring in it's simpleness. As in any Mahjong game, you match tiles. I chose the regular Mahjong tiles rather than the money (business related?) tiles.
I want my Mahjong game to not only be relaxing but have aspects of the game that are unique unto that game alone, bonus, build your own layouts, but something different and this game just didn't have it.
This Glam-ma says this may not be her cup of tea (I have a Mahjong game I absolutely love from the BF site) but that doesn't mean it won't be yours. Please try the demo and enjoy. Happy Gaming.

Okay, let me try to figure out how to even BEGIN to tell you about this game. The premise of it is generally how you would play a pipe game. Just as you have different shapes of pipes and need to find ways to connect them appropriately, so you must do with twigs.
Graphics are well suited to the game. Twigs looks like golden twigs and there always seem to be spaceships that have to take off so be careful where you put a "stop" twig. I didn't get the whole "magic", "defense", "luck" and percentages aspect. I also didn't get how the 3 characters - "knight", girl (not sure what she was, sorry) and the goblin and how these percentages affected their ability to help you or not. So, for THOSE reasons the game was very difficult for me, although fun. Your twigs connect all the way up the screen and then some. But, in the meantime, you can only place one useless twig on the conveyor belt once every very slow 15 seconds. A LOT can happen on the conveyor belt that is sending you twigs in that same 15 seconds though. Your character has a weapon that can break the twigs coming toward you on the conveyor belt but I don't get how it works because sometimes you can smash a bunch of useless twigs and at other times the weapon can't smash at all. So, all in all a very confusing game - for me. I stress - for me. Because I'm sure everyone else who plays this game will love it and have no problems. If it weren't for all the extras (yes, I know that's what makes up the game) I would have been fine just building my twigs up and up and up with no interference whatsoever.
This is more of a strategic and time management game than any other type.
This Glam-ma says if it were just the twigs and nothing else I probably would have purchased this game. However, I really think you should give the hour free trial a try because it is a fun little game. Happy Gaming.
I recommend this game!

If you like Scrabble you will very much like Word Zen.
Storyline: None that I'm aware of.
Graphics: A bit grainy but not enough to impair your vision to play the game.
Sound: Music was very relaxing.
Gameplay: There are 4 levels of difficulty - Easy, Novice, Master and GrandMaster.T here are tiles (as in a Mahjong game) and layouts (as in a Mahjong game) except instead of pictures, etc. you have letters - ala Scrabble. All of the letters have a worth to them in order to win points. Some letters will also have colors - indicating a bonus to assist you, however, beware because you may use a colored letter that doesn't help you at all but hinders you. There is a "help" section as opposed to a tutorial. In the beginning I was moving and shaking - 10 letter words - using rare letters like "J", Q" and "X" to get points and bonuses from colored tiles. I didn't need more than 2 or 3 words at that rate. However, having said this, the game does get exponentially harder and harder and harder. I am well-read and can use a $10 word when I need to but I finally got to a level that flummoxed me. I replayed over and over and over and over because (1) time ran out and (2) the colored letters that would have helped me a LOT were buried far below in the layout and I just could not get to them.
Therefore, is it better in a situation like that to try to build big words with many tiles or just a whole shebang of little words to keep the game moving? Only a seasoned Scrabble player can answer that. And me? I am barely a novice at Scrabble so this game really isn't for me.
This Glam-ma won't be purchasing this game but only because I am not a word game kind of person but as far as I did get? I most thoroughly enjoyed myself and believe you will too. Happy Gaming.
I recommend this game!

This is a bundle pack. I was thoroughly disappointed in this first game and thoroughly delighted with the second - go figure.
The first game was Luxor Adventures:
Graphics: Horrible - probably hand-drawn
Sound: Was there any?
Storyline: Plain and simple - I suppose. 3 people from 3 different time periods (it appeared to be 1930's, 1950's and 1980's) just show up together at an archeological dig. They do not seem surprised that they are together or inquisitive as to how they all got there. THAT would have made a great storyline. Other than that, here we are and let's do some HOGs, I didn't get the game at all.
HOGs - Ugh. So many items, so MANY, and thrown into the color scheme (tannish) or so very tiny, it was virtually impossible to find anything. There is no hint button, no menu button, no journal, nothing. I had to exit the game by using Task Manager.
This Glam-ma was totally unimpressed with Luxor Adventures and could not in good conscience recommend it to anyone; however, having said that we have:
Luxor 3:
Graphics: Amazing color, bright, you could clearly pick out each color of ball. And when the fireworks went off - bombs exploding, it was a magnificent sight to see.
Sound: I apologize, I'm a grandma who has learned to tune things out but I'm pretty sure I enjoyed the music. I hated that the music sped up when you near the "danger zone" - added a lot of stress - lol.
Storyline: I missed the beginning of the storyline so I apologize for that. However, periodically you will get pieces of the story written out for you. PAY ATTENTION: In those few sentences are clues for the following game play.
Gameplay: WOW, WOW and more WOW! This is truly an amazing game. You need to shoot a colored ball into a fast-moving string of colored balls to get 3 or more in a row. That's the general premise of the game play. Now, extras. There are little bugs that pop up spinning around - shoot them with one of your colored balls (if you can get to them) and get bonuses or coins. There are also bonus levels where you can earn bonuses or coins. Bonuses are things such as "stop", "slow: and "reverse". This is just a small inkling of the many bombs you can earn. You can also buy bombs and upgrades to said bombs in the store with coins you have earned in the game play.
Obviously, my overall rating, etc. is based on the 2nd game - Luxor 3. I have played shooter games before. I am fairly good at those types of game. They just have never been my favorite kind of game. However, having said that, I so thoroughly enjoyed Luxor 3 I hated it when it ended and immediately downloaded every Luxor game on the BF site so I could pick and choose which one(s) I was going to purchase. Yeah - it was THAT good. It is also a very fast-moving game and requires good eye/hand coordination.
This Glam-ma loved this game and hopes you will too. Maybe you'll enjoy Luxor Adventures as well and get a great deal - 2 games for one. I just don't want computer space eaten up by a game I'm not going to play.
Please try it before you buy it - Happy Gaming.
I recommend this game!

I truly did not expect to like this game as much as I did.
Storyline:
You were sent as a child to live with your Aunt by your Grandfather as both of your parents were killed in a horrific accident, yet you survived. You play Cathy, who has now graduated from college, received a letter from your grandfather who informs you that he is tired, the candy factory is in trouble and he wants you to take over and, basically, fix it. How can you refuse? It is your legacy. So, you say goodbye to your Aunt and off you go to meet your kind Grandfather Winston. But, all is not well. Berthold, your Grandfather's longtime assistant expected the candy factory to revert to himself when the "old man" retired. He has failed to convince Grandfather Winston that the factory would be better off converted to selling cork and rubber to no avail. Then, you come, dismissing Berthold's ideas as well. This candy factory is your legacy so you begin repairing machines as they break down - all around you - all the time. Is this a coincidence or is someone sabatoging the machines? You will find out in this amazing match 3 (not really, see gameplay below) game.
Graphics:
I would not say cartoonish but definitely not lifelike. A fun, possibly cartoonish, claymation type of graphics, both in characters and the village. Colors were bright, cheerful, snow falling reminded me of hot chocolate and ice skating. Very relaxing.
Sound/Voices:
There were no voiceovers so that's that. Sound effects were fine. Music was ok. Relaxing. I apologize. I am a grandma who learned how to tune things out a long time ago - lol. You had to read everything, but that alright because it just seemed to fit well with the environment. It was all put together very well.
Gameplay:
There are 2 modes of play - timed or relaxing. I played on relaxing. This is not typical match 3 game. Your gameboard is more like a honeycomb and you match strings of 3 or more fruits, chocolate, nuts, etc. I had to restart the level once because there were no strings of 3 anywhere and there was no shuffle option. After every level, you learn more about the storyline, which I loved about this game. A lot of M3s say they have a storyline but don't. This one totally does. Every 4th level or so you have what I refer to as a "bonus level" such as connecting Nozzle A to Nozzle B through a series of pipes you have to make sure connect properly or you replay that level. There's supposed to be a skip button but I never saw it. There are also HOGs which were fun and easy to do. Right before the demo ended, Berthold was preparing to plot vengeance again.
This is an amazing game that is relaxing while at the same time highly addictive. You'll want to continue playing to follow every bit of the storyline. You'll want to continue playing because of the innovative ways the devs have given you to play this game (bombs and bonuses). It's definitely a great game for everyone in the family. Unfortunately, I dislike the "string together groups of 3 or more" types of M3s. I prefer the old swap mode. Still, you never know. I may just decide to get the game one day - the suspense of needing to know the end of the story will drive me crazy. Who will prevail and succeed? The devious and jealous Berthold or the sweet but highly intelligent Cathy who's struggling to hang onto her family's legacy and not let her Grandfather down. You'll only find out by purchasing the game.
This Glam-ma says try the demo out but I'll just bet you will quickly hit that "buy" button - lol. Happy Gaming.
I recommend this game!
