Once again, a great storyline. Your friend has gone missing in the Lexington Hotel while investigating the Hotel's Legend. wooooooooo.
Graphics were absolutely amazing! Ghosts popping out at you, pictures that aren't just pictures. LOVED it! Voice overs, music and sound fx were great as well.
Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom difficulties.
HOGs were mainly list type with a silhouette thrown in for good measure - lol. Not tremendously interactive and no alternate game. Mini Games were quite fun.
Interactive map and a camera that plays back cassettes for you.
CE Bling will consist of the usual fare plus: * 21 Morphing Objects * 20 Puzzle Pieces * Rose Petals (found 1 by accident and didn't find any more)
This is a great standalone game (don't have to own/played the previous 9 games), great for beginners through experts, great storyline that flowed very well. Perfect if it would have come out for Halloween instead of Thanksgiving. Just sayin'.
I own the previous 9 games in this series and will definitely be adding the CE of this one. IMHO, it is definitely CE-worthy.
Join me in finding out about the Legend of the Lexington Hotel.
Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Went on a hide and seek game and a derby showed up.
It's 1952 at the Devonshire Derby. And the winner is .............. NO! Impossible! Was the race fixed????? The famously renowned Calvin Reedly calls you, Ms. Dunn, to investigate ............ just what happened!
Graphics a little toned down from the harshness of most games of today. Lots of orange/brown on the buildings (was this a custom color during the '50's???? Cuz it's EVERYWHERE!). Music was very nicely done as were the voice overs - trouble with an accent here and there - and the sound fx.
Easy, Medium, Hard and Custom difficulties.
HOGs (hidden object games) - varied, varied and more variety. I don't think I did the same thing twice during the demo ---- list, silhouette, frags and more. Mini Games - WOW! That says it all. Just wow.
There is a transportable map but I had trouble figuring out just exactly how to use it. There were little symbols at the bottom left of the screen that stood for 'did I find something?', achievements, and something else. Banners come out from the edge of the screen when you find .... other things.
I TOTALLY dislike the sound that's made when you click on something. Yes, my friends, so bad it's a deal breaker for me. Ugh. AND, I had to turn off the custom cursor (how's this ..... turn off the custom cursor and you get a smaller version of it anyway. .... hmmmmm).
CE Bling: In addition to the usual fare of wallpaper, re-playable games, etc., etc. there are: * Collectible Symbols - 43 teapots * Morphing Objects - 16 (found in the HOGs) * Collectible Letters - 17 (i.e., a, b, c ... so why only 17???) * Collectible Hats - 6 whew (wiping sweat off my brow).......AND the kitchen sink! No. Not really the kitchen sink..
I was soooooooooooooooo excited about the story line. Not one I've seen before. So, yes, very excited. But, then, the story line and the game play gets lost in all the collectibles and morphing objects and find this, find that and, yeah. It's a nice touch that there are only 17 collectible this and 16 collectible that but then you are so busy (shoot, call it what it is - DISTRACTED) looking around for this and that and ............ sigh. The game play gets lost, the story line gets eaten up, by everything else on the sideline. Not really a game supported by a novel storyline so much as it's a big hide and seek game ...... period.
I wanted to like it. I wanted to LOVE it. Horsies!!!!! But, no. Just too much distraction. Maybe the SE will be better without all the extras. Wouldn't THAT be novel - lol. So, not a purchase for me as a CE but for everyone else at the Devonshire Derby ....................
ENJOY!
I recommend this game!

Haunted Legends: The Secret of Life Collector's Edition
You've traveled the world in search of a cure for your deadly illness, and you've finally found it! But it won't be easy to get – are you up to the task?
Wow. Followed by several moments of silence. Then ........... another ... w - o - w.
St. Germaine has been very ill. He now only has 1 week to live so he has been searching in vain (so far) for the Secret of Life which is supposed to be in ...... the ............. h-o-u-s-e.
The game has some very new nuances to it. For instance, you will be asked a question .... or perhaps YOU will have to ask a question ...... and you have 2 choices. How will the choice YOU make affect the outcome of the game? Or will it? Hmmmm.
Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom difficulties.
HOGS (hidden object games) were mostly list items - not very interactive. One was a silhouette. None difficult. Mini games were fun. Some time consuming but all very fun.
CE Bling: I expect the usual fare from ERS including: * Achievements - in the form of questions (i.e., Do you like to read? How much do you like to read?) - hmm. * Morphing Objects - YAY! This girl loves me some morphing objects! * Collections - Of what? I clicked on a few items inadvertently and ..... whoosh ..... off it goes ..... and I've apparently done something right. But what? Go figure. * Again...inadvertently clicked on ..... something .... and "1 of 25". But 1 of 25 WHAT?????
Besides my personal "wow" factor (which generally dictates whether I will purchase a game) .... DURING the game play I turned the volume on my television ............. off. I wanted NO distractions. Even white noise in the background. I was THAT involved in the game. THAT'S never happened before. Hmmmm.
A definite CE purchase for me. Great for all levels of expertise mainly for the story. Difficulty is fairly intermediate. I felt taken back to some of the features of older games. No gimmicks or gadgets or helpers (don't get me wrong ... I LOVE helpers) or interactive HOGs and multi-level mini games. Just a great story with great game play.
This game would have been perfect for a Halloween release. Ghosts and bats and dead people come to life and .... a very creepy, spooky house.
ENJOY!
Overall Impression: Definitely CE-worthy. Lots of spookiness for a Halloween release. I gasped at the end of the demo and just sat in silence for a few minutes going "wow" - over and over. A definite purchase for me.
Typical riddler/griddler/mosaic game. I disliked that you couldn't tell what picture you were building even after you built the entire thing. Huh? Also, not meant for beginners as it was a higher difficulty immediately at the onset of the game play.
Flowers are killing the townspeople and you've been called in to destroy them (the flowers NOT the people).
Graphics are not the best. I actually felt claustrophobic just playing the game. Everything just seemed so closed in. As if the Devs were trying to fit as much as possible in each scene. Music and sound fx were just .... bleh.
Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom difficulties.
HOGs were interactive lists. Mini Games were fun and on the easy side.
Besides a transportable map (which was just too difficult to use), you get an Evidence Board (which, oddly, is kept in a horse-drawn carriage), AND a pollen catcher which also makes antidotes.
As a CE-worthy game, it lacks substance as there are only 35 flower cards to collect. Not much else.
I played the demo several times and each time I still disliked it. Sigh. It's claustrophobic, too much back and forthing at the very start of the game between 2 areas that are barely 3 steps away from each other. Your inventory becomes overloaded as you collect a plethora of items for no apparent reason other than to over-fill it. And, here we are, another game with 'gadgets'.
I could go on and on and on but this is just NOT going to be a purchase for me.
It's evening .... a young man is walking along by himself ..... minding his own business ...... when he's attacked by several individuals. Who are they and why did they attack him???? Your character, a detective of the paranormal, has been contacted by Wolfgang Lemann in Munich for help.
Graphics are more old school than some might enjoy. Music was fun. Voice overs were well done and the sound fx were awesome.
Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom difficulties.
Journal for notes and a transportable map. The map seemed a bit confusing (and large ... very large) so I tried to refrain from using it. Just my opinion.
HOGs varied from finding pairs, silhouettes, interactive lists and no alternate game if you prefer. Mini Games were waaay fun and some were waaay hard - lol.
CE Bling: Besides the usual fare of music, wallpaper, etc. are the following:
* Taro Cards (I believe there are 13) * Morphing Objects (27) * Chimeras (which also morph) * Secret Room (???)
Nice storyline that flows well. Lots of CE Bling. This will be a definite purchase for me. I had a great time playing the game because there weren't a lot of 'gadgets' to take away from the game play. I would recommend it for any level of difficulty.
Prince Sigfried would wander through his Palace Garden. One day, he met the lovely Odette. He gave her a red rose and asked for her hand in marriage. Everyone rejoiced! Until .........................
The music was very 'soft and lilting' ..... actually made me sleepy after a while. Graphics were old school fantasy. Sound fx well done. Click on everything is my best advice - lol - I made flowers bloom jusy clicking on a bush!
Casual/Advanced/Hardcore/Custom Difficulties.
HOGs were varied ....... from interactive silhouettes to FRAGS and more ..... there is an alternate Match 3 game if you prefer. I enjoyed the M3 myself! lol Mini Games were quite fun and almost all new and fresh.
You have an interactive map, a task list and the ability to change into your alter-ego (just kidding!). You do have the ability to change characters ..... from the dashing Prince to the sweet Odette and back again.
CE Bling: In addition to the usual fare, there are: * Finding feathers (sometimes more than 1 per scene) to be used to upgrade your Boudoir * Collecting notes (is this part of the SE as well?) * Collect statuettes * Collect stained glass pieces
Although this appears to be CE worthy, and after playing the Beta I was absolutely sure this would be a purchase for me. However, after the CE demo my feelings towards this game were much more ...... bleh.
The storyline was true romance at its best. A cast of interesting characters, fun games and the ability to switch characters. Find me preparing for my character's wedding ..... but when you find me ........... WHICH character will I be?????
Seeing the title, I immediately thought "wow .... great name for a HOWL-a-ween game" (yeah, HOWLAWEEN ... I went there). The first thing I discovered was ..... it's NOT a Hidden Object Game. Why the name of the game would take me to THAT place, I have no idea. It's actually a solitaire game! Wooo-hooo. LOVE solitaire games.
The storyline is sooooo cute and believable! Cute couple ..... married on the Day of the Dead ............ so, of COURSE one of the dead would carry her a-w-aaaaaaa-y!
Graphics amazing! Music ..... creepy halloweenie music! Turned voices down but I'm sure they're great too.
It's a typical hi-low solitaire game with lots of fresh, new and innovative "extras" to make the game fun and fresh and entertaining (bombs, fires, etc.). I was quite confused as to how to get the 'list of ingredients' indicated at the start of the game. Again, shades of a hidden object game. It was right before the demo ended when I figured it out ..... I think. And, then there were teddy bears and lollipops and candy to be found ............ and I 'lost it' again.
On one hand, it's a calming, easy solitaire game to relax with. On the other hand, it's a hunt and find game played with cards. Then, on the third hand (ok...just give it to me here) it's a confusing mix that makes no sense. This game's success and entertainment value is placed entirely upon each individual player's outlook of its complexity. That means YOU will have to play the demo and figure out WHICH category you're in and if the game is right for you. So .....................
ENJOY!
I recommend this game!

Craft Fair gone seriously bad, or ..... How to Build a Golem
A golem attacked the village of Glanville during its annual craft fair. Now, Golems are taking over the quaint little town and a cute little dwarf-looking gnome-ish person has come to call upon your character to ..... well ........ HELP!!!!! Yeah. Like that.
Okay. Please remember this is a FANTASY and, therefore, the graphics are done in a perfect FANTASY setting. Each and every one. On that note, special fx, voice overs and music were perfectamundo!
Casual, Detective, Super Mode and Custom difficulties.
HOGs (hidden object games) were interactive silhouettes and frogs (fragmented pieces). No alternate game. Mini Games were soooooooooo much fun!!! All related to the storyline (as opposed to just a random game).
No diary that I recall but there is a transportable map. The 'hint' button also transports you. Oh. Yeah. The 'hint' button ....... aaaaahhhhhhh..........when does the cuteness stop?!?!?!?!
CE Bling: Not sure what this game will have to offer besides the following ..... * Collectibles * Statuettes * Morphing Objects
Great storyline that flows well. Perfect for all levels of expertise. Definitely CE-worthy and a DEFINITE purchase for me! Sign me up for the next expedition to Glanville!
ENJOY!
Overall Impression: A demo NOT to be missed. 5*. LOVED IT from the very beginning. Can't wait for the release. Run ..... DO NOT WALK ..... to the nearest "buy" button!
Light Harmonium = constructive energy. Dark Harmonium = chaos, destructive energy. Entire worlds have been destroyed when the balance shifts.
Your character is Eve Glover, sent for to help cure an Alien.
Easy, Medium, Hard and Custom difficulties.
Graphics were ok. Nothing really impressive to me. Music seemed inappropriate to the surroundings.
Voice Overs ---- Of the characters I met, the woman needed the most work. The tonal inflections were well done, however, the woman's facial features were very dead-pan. Also, voice overs were 'off' and not in sync with lip movement.
You received a map which I found repetitive in its use. Click on the area you want to transport to ...... and that area became a circular area in the upper left corner of the map ..... where you had to click on it AGAIN to transport. Repetitive. The hint button also transported you so I relied on that.
You also received a 'gauntlet' which can absorb dark energy. Play a mini-game to gather it. But, then, it dispelled other energy? Too confusing for me. Just wait for the gauntlet to light up and do its thing.
HOGs were silhouette and interactive silhouette. Yes, there is a difference. Mini Games were fun, innovative and new. Some of the instructions were difficult to understand while others weren't difficult, just time-consuming to finish.
Besides the usual CE Bling such as replayable games, wallpapers, music, etc., there are 43 owls to find. A souvenir room that wouldn't unlock until after the Bonus Game was played so can't comment on that.
Great for any level of expertise and more enjoyable for those who are way more high-tech than me. Definitely a standalone game (you do not need to have played previous games in the series to understand this one).
Is it CE-worthy? IMO, no. There's just not enough of the 'extras' in the extras.
Amaranthine's Voyage has come to an end for this gamer. In this new game in the series, everything was a bit too high-tech for me. Both in game play and the scenery. Unfortunately, this will NOT be a purchase for me.
